It was one on the issue Satoshi saw the world needed it. But as far now it mainly use is trading for speculation by the newbie and holding by one who bought it years ago.
Of course it needs to be legalised FIRST somewhere. But after that a, will you buy something online and pay in BTC ?
Or it’s just a form of investment like gold was a decade ago ?
 Hi, there luxcoin! As far as I know, there are only around seven countries that prohibit the use of cryptocurrencies. I agree with you stating Satoshi's aim of creating an alternative payment for internet commerce. Currently that dream is little by little realize as more company embrace the technological change of accepting cryptocurrency big names includes Microsoft, Newegg, Steam, and much more. However, most of the bitcoin holder prefer to earn more bitcoin rather than spend it which become the reason why most of the bitcoin transactions are conducted in the investment.  With relatively high bitcoin fluctuations, there will be a feeling of affection when we have to use it as a means of payment. It would be wise, imo, that in transactions (selling / buying goods and services) we keep using fiat. And treating bitcoin remains as an investment. I agree with you, we should just keep or remain our bitcoin as an investment or an asset because it will help us to continue earning money in terms of fiat and just use our fiat to make transactions or payments because it is better to use it since it is fixed and it is not volatile like bitcoin. The wise decision right now is just to hold bitcoin and don't do anything with it until the price satisfies you and just sell. |

Yes,Bitcoin is not a gamble but Bitcoin is a virtual currency,so if people think that Bitcoin is a gamble,it depends on their perceptions.
Indeed with Bitcoin we can gamble,but not because of Bitcoin,but due to the desire of the owner of Bitcoin itself.
Bitcoin is only gambling in terms of its risk but overall it is not a total gamble because when you invest or put some money in bitcoin then you can expect some gains in the future and that is why bitcoin is a good option for our money to be putted or to be invested. but if it happen in my country, maybe the person or organization that ask to advertise on tv will be warned by government and central bank. because here bitcoin not accepted, but not banned.
It will be a great idea if you guys: bitcoin users in your country will make an advertisement or a way to spread the benefits and good things about bitcoin because that will give a lot of positive result for the people who will get into bitcoin. The price of bitcoin is still fighting and trying to break the resistance at the price of 8,000 USD and that is not simple for bitcoin to make it happen because that is a strong resistance in the market but i think after a few days or weeks, we can see the price of bitcoin that will get stabilize in 8,000 USD range and it will continue to climb up to 20,000 USD.

I usually used my bitcoins for trading because as of now it would be difficult to use it as a currency since the value of it fluctuates and I'd once tried to buy some goods using bitcoin but it was just only one time, I hope there will be an increase of bitcoin accepted payments so that I can buy anything I want online or offline.
Keep trading because it will help you to grow your bitcoin into a bigger amount and that will give you assurance that you can have more money for the things that you need to buy either even it is offline or online. I see more and more merchants accepting Bitcoin but I feel many are missing the point. I, along with the vast majority of you, hate spending my Bitcoin. The only reason I would spend Bitcoin is if I can get a 20%+ discount on an item or service that I would be purchasing anyway. This also assumes I can immediately purchase more BTC to cover what I spent. I have done this before for purchases on Purse, then buying the BTC right back on Coinbase. The headache alone is hardly worth it. So merchants! It's great that you accept BTC but give us a compelling reason to spend it at your establishment, otherwise we really don't care.
You're absolutly right. Whatever was the amount of bitcoun you have save it it still too soon to use it. I used to sell some of my bitcoin but not anymore. It's getting more rare since the sources are getting fewer. Working in this forum is not as easy as it used to be. Whenever bitcoin rises, signature compaigns become fewer. Keep stocking your bitcoin because in this coming years, it may reach a surprising price. I agree with you. Just keep getting bitcoin and saving bitcoin for the next years because in the future, the price of bitcoin might become more expensive than before and that is how we will make a lot of money from being wise to not sell bitcoin or getting rid of it because the price of bitcoin is getting more expensive than before and that is why it is very worth it to just keep bitcoin. |

ETH have a lot of vulnerability and it makes the faith of its investors to become lower than before because the latest problem of it is the hacking where it costs hundred million of worth of ETH is being locked up by just a simple bug which is not a good sign for a long term investment in a cryptocurrency and that is why i am still sticking with bitcoin. |

This is for a personal writing project I'm working on. I imagine that Bitcoin would be good for things like teaching things like math with decimals ("How many Satoshis do you need to get a tenth of a Bitcoin?", stuff like that), budgeting (Spend it on whatever you want, but when it's gone, it's gone), or even a little bit of IT / programming stuff like how cryptography works. What do you guys think of this?
I don't think that those thing will happen because those things can be easily learned using the internet and i think that the people in the schools will prefer teaching the traditional topics rather than teaching those things because if you are really into learning deeper than the lesson in your school then you can just use the internet since it is very easy to get access to it. |

I used to consider Bitcoin as a currency, when I fist entered the cryptocoin sector. But now the things have changed. The huge increase in fees has made the usage of Bitcoin as a payment medium very expensive. On the other hand, its attractiveness as an investment has risen, due to sky high returns.
I think that bitcoin is just the both of those two. Really depends on the situation they are in when they decide to hold. They're holding because of the price dip. Usually they don't sell bitcoins at a lower price than their investment because it would be a loss. Some are holding because the price will go up every minute. This ensures that when they sell their bitcoins, maximum profit is obtained. Another reason is that they don't have the need to let it go. Simple as that. There are a lot of situations for the holders of bitcoin and that is true but one thing is very common for all of the holders of bitcoin is they believed that the price of bitcoin will go higher so they are not selling it and they are just holding bitcoin to not lose the opportunity to make a lot of profit in the future by just holding and having trust in bitcoin. |

Yeap i agree with you and would like to add. That all cryptocurrencies at the moment is like forex trading obligations and they dont have any possobility to replace real money. But can they replace companies that have obligations? I think yes. We really can never tell the future because our technology is very advance and we'll never know what it can unfold in the future. Real money is what we are using right now but just like creditcards we will never know bitcoins could be like that in the future and no need for us to bring cash or cheque anymore though it would take long time to implement but somehow that is something we'll be looking forward to. In my opinion, in the future we will be dealing for more on a side of using cryptocurrency rather than the traditional or usual form of money that we have right now because if you will observe in our era right now that technology is playing a big role in our world and cryptocurrency might be a huge step up for our world in the near future. |
