Doesn't matter what port we use. Default or configured. It doesn't work.

And RPC has nothing to do with the actual algorithm used to mine the coin.
622  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gridcoin (GRC) - first coin utilizing BOINC - Official Thread on: February 15, 2014, 07:46:11 AM
Trying to compile the linux wallet to add to AllCrypt.com and won't compile - fails to find io.h

Anyone here get it compiled on linux? Cant get it on the exchange without a working linux compile.

Merrykate: If your reply was to me, thats not what I'm asking. I used that hacky solution to get the wallet to install.

json RPC calls to the wallet do not work.

The server needs to communicate with the wallet to process deposits and withdrawals. The same jsonRPC calls that work with EVERY OTHER wallet we have installed do NOT work with the Atom wallet.

Without working RPC, we cannot list the coin.

LiteBar is now up for voting on AllCrypt.com!

Go to www.AllCrypt.com/beta/voting.php to vote for LiteBar to be listed!

More fun.

ATOM does not play well with RPC calls.

We are setting up the backend for the exchange, and every coin we are testing works.

We cannot, regardless of what we do, connect to the atomd wallet via RPC. Every other wallet we have set works. atomd does not.

Anyone here have any idea why?
626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Cryptocurrency Exchange in development - AllCrypt.com on: February 14, 2014, 03:23:42 PM
Is allcrypt and allcrypt.com/beta down? I cannot access either of them this morning.

Internet was out due to the snowstorm. Remember - we aren't on production servers yet.

Seems to be back up now.

I actually received a reply from the dev telling me that it's called altcoin because it's the king of all altcoins.

And I should stop thinking of other coins as altcoins, and think of their coin when I think the word altcoin.

"If you just think ALTCOIN is ALT, don't think ALTCOIN also includes litecoin, dogecoin etc, then everything will be ok."

If I only change my way of thinking, then their name is ok.

I'm gonna release a new candy and call it Coke - and just tell people to stop thinking about Coca cola when they think Coke, and think candy instead.

*boggle*
629  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Cryptocurrency Exchange in development - AllCrypt.com on: February 12, 2014, 05:23:01 PM
We wanted to solicit an opinion.

We were contacted today to add a new coin to the voting, and I'm highly leaning against it.

The coins name? Altcoin.

Yes, Altcoin, the generic term for all, well, altcoins.

Something else fun? There's already another coin called Altcoin.

So, it's an Altcoin, thats called Altcoin, the same thing as another Altcoin called Altcoin.

Thats like starting a car company called Car.

1: Hey man, I'm buying a new car!
2: Sweet, I heard they are really cool.
1: What?
2: Cars are really cool.
1: Uhhh.... yeah... we all know that.
2: No man, not cars, Cars!
1: What?
2: You said you're buying a Car right?
1: Yeah... are you insane?
2: No man, the new Car cars are top of the line.
1: Why did you just say "car cars"?

Seriously. Do we have to do this?

So, I'm considering implementing a rule that we will also NOT list coins that lead to confusion. Like if some tool makes biitcoin. Or Dojcoin.

Thoughts? After all, we want to do what YOU want...

We haven't forgotten anyone - been working hard. Had a lot of holes in the new user registration we had to close up, and that seems to be done. On to the next step.

We have this weekend free (yes, we are all losers without women, or women who live hours away, or in one case, one who hates valentines day!) so we'll be getting this thing up soon. We are hoping to be able to tell you a launch day in the next day or three. It will be sometime next week. Fingers crossed. It's taking a lot longer than we thought it would!

How long until launch?  Grin

Soon? We are working like dogs to get this site up and running. The DB server was built over the weekend and is about to be hooked into the alpha testing, and we're going to test deposits and withdrawals today.
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Cryptocurrency Exchange in development - AllCrypt.com on: February 10, 2014, 03:42:39 PM
Websockets error is back... Sad

Yeah the damn bug is testy. Every time I think we get it it comes back. We have so much debugging in the server code that it's crazy. But every freeze we get closer to finding out WHY its freezing.

We'll get it. Have to get it. Cant go live with a freezing server app Wink
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / AllCrypt.com - Coins have been added to alpha test! Devs? Read on... on: February 10, 2014, 12:25:25 AM
Coins have been added to the alpha test of AllCrypt.com. Wallets downloaded, blockchains synchronized, ready to test deposits, transfers and withdrawals. Devs of the following coins, please contact me, either through here, or the contact form on allcrypt.com:

BIL (BillionCoin)
FRSC (FederalReserve)
DOGE (Doge) - Not really necessary. We've received DOGE to test with.
MED (MediterraneanCoin)
PRT (Particle)
ATO (AtomCoin)

We are getting closer to launch and need to test some functions. Would love to talk to the devs of those coins, or anyone who is willing to send some for us to test with.

Keep voting guys, these aren't the only ones being added, just the top of the list and the ones deserving of being the first added during alpha!

634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Cryptocurrency Exchange in development - AllCrypt.com on: February 09, 2014, 03:01:36 PM
Was a bug in the server software, just noticed it was down.

The more this happens, the more we can trace the errors and get them fixed before we go live. Bugs in beta arent a bad thing, helps us shore up the server for release.
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Cryptocurrency Exchange in development - AllCrypt.com on: February 09, 2014, 02:34:09 PM
Server is back up and voting is online again.

Also found a bug in the voting page - if you receive the websockets error, it wont try and reconnect anymore. That's been fixed, but you'll still need to refresh your page or re-load in a new window to get that update. After that it should at least always try a reconnect before announcing a failure.

I still get the websocket error in Firefox 27.

Are you at home or work?

Miscrosoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Assertion failed!
Program:..uyundownload\ato\atom-qt.exe
File src\main.cpp
line 1174
expression pindexFirst
for information on how your program can cause an assertion failure, see the Visual C++ documentation on asserts
-----------------------------------------------------------

Error ATO purses starts, please find and fix this BUG, thank you, we love ATO, virtual currency, please pay more attention to you personally created, we need your help, if you see a message, please reply me

Hmm. Seems its a universal error, as I'm having the same on linux.

AtomCoin - your coin has 8979 votes on allcrypt.com/beta/voting.php and is in 9th place out of ALL coins.

But we cannot host your coin with a non-working wallet.
637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ATO] Atom - Our craziest release yet - CPU mining BIG GIVEAWAYS v0.9.4.3 on: February 09, 2014, 04:14:07 AM
Atom DEVS: We are test installing a few wallets for testing before launch. Your wallet does not compile with absurd numbers of errors in Linux, and when we start the daemon, we get this error:

atomd: main.cpp:1174: unsigned int GetNextWorkRequired(const CBlockIndex*, const CBlockHeader*): Assertion `pindexFirst' failed.

Please advise. (Yes, we could debug, but we have other work to do. Your source should compile without issue on linux if you want to be on an exchange)

Trying to vote this morning and all browsers say the web sockets error pop-up... is this just me?

Extended power outage due to ice overnight. Heading in to get the server restarted Smiley

No worries folks - we are admittedly still in beta and NOT on production hardware yet. That upgrade is this weekend if all goes well.
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Cryptocurrency Exchange in development - AllCrypt.com on: February 06, 2014, 03:46:22 PM
On the left side where you display your markets, you may want to consider a search box if you ever get that many coins as cryptsy. Smiley

Thanks for the tip. We'll see about adding that in the sidebar

Do you have any idea how many coins will be listed on launch? Top 10 on the voting? Top 25?

It will be as many as we have time to add. We're not sure. More the better.

But we also don't want to say a number and then have people pissed off if they were 3 votes from the top.

We'll add as many as possible, and then once we're up and running and nothing is crashing, we'll get back to adding coins. Same as before, top coin in the list gets added, and we keep moving.
