Being the idiot I was, back when that bubble/collapse occurred and big news sites were picking up on it, I thought "Hey I can make free money with my GPU!" and I started mining for a day. Got bored and forgot about it.
Come January of this year I remembered the "Bitcoin" and looked it up again, and read in detail. Ever since I'm hooked, I use bitcoins more then I use USD.

a prayer for an orphan block
how do oprhan blocks occur? When the guy said die block he is refering to the extra long round. Currently we have been mining 22 hours and still haven't found a block. In relality the only thing this means for you is that until a block is found your payment won't start confirming. In reality this means that the pool owner has to pay A LOT out of his pocket because this is an unlucky round. Here you do the math: 2,036,671 shares = a block (in theory) Current round shares: 11,782,916 shares So if the pool pays 0.0000245498648641 per share, 0.0000245498648641 * 11782916 = ~289.27BTC and counting every share submitted, that means this round the pool owner is paying out about 239.27BTC of his own (and counting) so he is loosing almost $2600 this round. What does this mean for you? Nothing. Just pray we find a block soon so we don't put rex any more in debt. And to answer the orphan question, an orphan block is a block that doesn't count and then rex wouldn't even get 50BTC from a block to help pay out the round. Here is a good explination from Block chain wiki page: Blocks in shorter chains (or invalid chains) are called "orphan blocks", and while they are stored, they are not used for anything. When a block becomes an orphan block, all of its valid transactions are re-added to the pool of queued transactions and will be included in another block. The 50 BTC reward for the orphan block will be lost, which is why a network-enforced 100-block maturation time for generations exists.
What does this mean for you? Nothing, because for every share you submit you are paid for it, regardless as to if it is a block winning share or not. Even if the round was an orphan, you would still be paid for every single share. So don't worry, rex does all the worrying for us.

We’re proud to introduce ABCPool.co to you, the highest paying Pay-per-Share (PPS) pool, making miners happy since 2011-08-02. This is untrue, isn't MtRed the highest paying PPS pool? Mtred is the highest at 100% PPS conventionally but other than that Bonuspool is the highest PPS. Well if you want to add hopping proxys to this then Project X pays out about 110-115%+ usually.

Say you mine for a month, make ~270LTC, then litecoin eventually rises to 0.15btc each in the future, so you then have 40.5BTC. Now say bitcoins are worth, what $13 in a few months, sell them and make a profit of $526.50
Its all luck and speculation man.

Thanks, guess I could have tried that...lol
How do you guys know if you've been paid for public work? I don't get anything in my transaction history for payouts.
That doesn't work yet. If you just started mining wait up to 48 hours then payments will be processed. And if they are not then you can just email support or catch him in irc (I assume) and fix the issue.

Thought this might interest someone: setting intensity on the 6850 to, say, 3-8 make no more then a .5MH/s difference. So anyone using a 6850 for a display card and mining at the same time intensity 3 is great. 250Mh/s

Been awhile but I am back on GPUMax, feels like home. Can anyone PM me the current rate I should use?

BTC: 450MH/s = 0.222BTC/day
LTC: .45MH/s = 43.391LTC/day = ~0.220BTC/day at last price
Speculators what are you thinking? The price will continue to drop? It will shoot up and you will make a lot? Just curious is all.

I am not Realsolid and if you want to play games with naming people I think that's a game you really do want to enter into is it Mr. Lee?
Luceo? Maybe instead of using 3 threads for this discussion we should make another thread.

That's not a response to the direct question of why did you fake a protection meeting in private IRC? Please explain how this doesn't undermine your credibility by colluding with BCEX?
Seems you're extremely anxious to pass this off solely on BCEX without standing up and admitting your part.
Did you or did you not actively participate in deceiving the LTC community at large?
Mike
You know what, you made a burn notice reference in a previous post, for now on I like you.

I'm not Coinhunter, Charles.
My name is Michael Westin, from New York City but temporarily live in LA. I've been a long time lurker but never posted till I registered yesterday and was whitelisted after moderators looked at my profile and info. I am also an LTC miner that happens to be pissed about your market manipulation scheme with BTC-e and BCEX. You knew a head of time and admitted you knew as of 8:00 am on Tuesday July 24th, less than 8 hours after BCEX posted his "attack" plans. This was market manipulation and I would love to hear your take on it.
Can you tell us why you didn't inform us for over four days you knew the attack was a hoax? You went through the charade of planning a defense in private IRC? What's up with that?
Mike
I talked with coblee a few times during the events of the attack, and he had thought that /maybe/ it was a hoax, he had his doubts. He was unsure though, and from what he posted in that thread it seems he wasn't aware it was a hoax until BCEX PM'd him outright, and by then announcing it was a hoax wouldn't have changed anything.

For information, I have decided against funding a loan to support the payback of the creditors here. I believed that it would have been useful for the community to have this mess cleaned up, but my assessment of the risk to my funds (based on information released and not provided) would be too high.
Ouch that is bad news. I still hope that everything can be cleared up, I myself never used his service but he seems to be cleaning this up to the best of his ability, so I would be sad to see it taken to small claims.
