621  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / TRC P2Pool Confusion on: April 11, 2013, 05:11:25 PM
I have the latest client for TRC running and P2Pool v11.2
When I look at the stats screen I am seeing some confusing results:

We go from block 102931 -- to 100045
Look down the list.

Is this a fork, or a 51% attack on TRC?

Difficulty dive!  We are up and hashing!  Coinotron TRC is closed so iirc we are the only TRC pool right now!

From your front page:
"Payout temporarily disabled while we fix a bug! Sorry!"

When I click on the link, it just links back to the front page.
Any idea when the 'bug' will be fixed.

bitminter.com is the easyest to mine  Grin

Oh yeah -- I forgot about that one!
I like their Java mining program... works great with my BFL Single (FPGA)... but I couldn't get it to recognize the X6500's.

I was scanning the distributed computing projects for pay-for projects -- and while I was investigating one of them I came across Litecoin.
It took a few days of reading before I began to understand the concept of crypto currencies.

TBH... I learned about cryptos via Litecoin first... I didn't actually start BTC mining until a few months after I was in LTC mining.
I remember CPU mining Litecoins and thinking -- Yes... I have 7!!!!   Cheesy

Slush's pool was my first and one of my favorite pools!

I also use bitparking (I like the merged mining).
Coinotron is a favorite as well.
Not to mention P2Pool for BTC, LTC and TRC.  Grin

What's wrong with BTC-e and Vircurex?
Both exchange NMC...

I placed an order, was almost ready to wire $30k, then thought the better of it.

Unfortunately, I also put off buying BTC directly for 3 months after that, until last month :-(

Unfortunately it's not going to matter much.  If/When BFL actually gets around to shipping the units, the difficulty will have skyrocketed so high you will never make as much as the early Avalon adopters.  Granted you will make more than us FPGA people  Roll Eyes ....

In one month I have watched the difficulty jump from 3.2M to almost 9M.
Where do you think it will be 1 month from now?  How about when Avalon releases the second batch, or people add the upgrade module to the first batch?

Hello!

I have been a member for almost a year now (with over 1 day logged on).. and there are some discussions I would like to participate in within the Alternate Cryptocurrencies subforum.  In addition, I would like to use the bytecoin order book as stated here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=170157.0) but I cannot post to the topic because of the newbie restrictions.

Please remove the restrictions from my ID... there are a LOT of conversations I would like to participate in!
Thank you!   Grin

Hello everyone!

I have been following this board for months now.. and now I have a real question I have not been able to locate an answer to.
Now that the block reward for BTC has dropped to 25, I am looking at some of the alt chains.. specifically PPC and TRC.

Why you ask?  I have a couple BFL Labs singles that can only hash on SHA256 -- so this leaves me with three choices -- as listed above.
The question I have surrounds the alt chains PPC and TRC.

I see a lot of mixed signals when it comes to these chains.
A lot of people want see them succeed, and others call the chains an epic fail.

Now while I can find reasons why some want the chains to succeed, I cannot find a reason as to why some call them epic fails.
Can anyone explain (outside of the obvious reasons) why either of these chains would be considered an "epic fail" so early in the game?

Obvious reasons being lack of documentation on PPC (I can read the code if needed), and slow development on TRC.
Thank you!
