BURST is still the crapcoin it always was, you fools are wasting your time and money trying to mine it.
I realized this a year ago. A YEAR. And you jackholes and hangers on are STILL like "oh just wait, it'll increase in value, you'll see.
There is NO reason for it to increase, ever.

So I do have a Q about delegated harvesting that I am having a hard time finding an answer for.
I finally got it up and running, setup delegated harvesting, found a node and it shows it's active. Check. It's been over 24 hours since I started -- and I was curious to know, how long would it take before transactions from harvesting started showing up?
It can take a little while, but they dont show as transactions, you have to select harvested blocks and you should see what you have earned. Understood. I went looking and I do see the 'Harvested blocks' menu option. Thank you!

Well for short term, I think we need more assets, with good business plans/income.
Or people could create derivatives of existing assets: like from ByteEnt somebody created ByteEMini ,etc...
There are at least 4-5 assets on BURST that are worth something, so if somebody has time or ideas to create derivatives for them it would help them grow better.
I still see that the majority of BURSTs are in addresses, non-invested, exposed directly to inflation, which is not good, because that way people can panic-sell anytime. If their capital is protected in an asset it would give greater confidence to BURST, and more usage to it.
(tip: people really need to move their BURST from time to time, otherwise miners don't get fees)
Exactly why a 'better' market site is needed. Once goods and services can be easily located... Burst will flow!

Hello there. Which direction am I going? Kindly inform me. Because...
Reminds me of an old song from MOD -- Don't Feed the Trolls... errr, Bears.

Most excellent to hear! I truly hope we get back on a progressive, and constructive, path.
Good things are coming!!

Wow... something epic just happened there.... Elmit and Crow agree on something...

Burst is only inflationary in the short run. We've generated about half of the 2B burstcoins that will be the final total. number of BURST in circulation will double from here , following the distribution plan of reducing the amount distributed per block with 5% each month.
Sure but how long would this mining phase last? 1 year, 5 years? i made some rough calculations, not precise, might not even be correct at all... with 5133 reward i get 5.01% monthly inflation, that is now. This is way worse than usd of course 10 months from now, reward will be 3073 and inflation will be 2.17% monthly still a lot worse than usd in month 69 after the start though, reward will be less than 2% yearly and at that point burst will obviously be a better store of wealth than usd is, and than most currencies is. That will be 4.58 years from now. At that time, you might see people storing value in burst and other non inflating currencies simply bc it is better than using fiat currencies. Goverments and central banks will declare war, but we will be way too far ahead for them to do anything about it. Multiply by the devaluation compared to BTC you are getting 500% actually. Worst yet is that if the Somalian government declares war to BURST, I think even they can put 4PB together and win. But if somehow they can't pull it off, there's always the Liberian government. Oh, there's more, what if US government declares cryptocoins illegal? You might even have to conceal your identity. Are you prepared? Or will you just quit? i don't think you can multiply by BTC inflation. If BTC for instance had an immediate inflation of 1000% for some reason (bitladen succedding in 51% attack on BTC and changing parameters) then what would happen, would be that burst price would hold steady against euro, usd , gold etc, but would rise a lot against BTC. So the BTC inflation does not affect BURST, if BTC went apeshit crazy, we would just exchange burst for other things like usd, eur, gold, litecoin, nxt, whatever ;-) If US government declares cryptocoins illegal i'll laugh at the stupid statist socialist americans that keep voting populist crony capitalist idiots into power. I'm not american, i was considering moving over in the 80s, but by now it is way to centralized and statist and socialist for my taste. the us taxes its citizens worldwide, you can't even leave the country and be left alone. Nope. They even tax you on income made while you're out of the country. Which I don't understand.

Not to pull away from the topic at hand, but I do have a real Burst Q. I run my drives off an older Dell Power Edge Server running Windows 2003... an older version of windoze.
I have reasons to keep this on 2003 at the time -- and will at some point in the future will upgrade to a later version of Windoze server. For now... what would be the best miner to use?
Currently I run a virtual server and use blago's miner... which works... but the virtual server is a horrendous draw on system resources. Of course -- the newer miners require a later version of Windoze to run directly.
Should I just stick with the original Java version... or is there a better alternative?
You could try Luxe's java GPU miner. https://cynin.burst-team.us:446/home/public/files/luxes-gpu-miner-for-windowsUnfortunately that requires java 8 and OpenCL to be implemented. This machine is incapable of upgrading to Java 8... well, not incapable... but not recommended. That plus my PES does not have a PCIex Backplane. I do have a PCIEex Backplane but was planning on installing it when I upgraded to a newer windows server version.

Well, I have been at this for a LONG time... and I am definitely a holder. Why?
Most times when a coin is released it looks great on paper and function, but a lack of supporting service causes the hold. For example, I am holding a lot of Burst. I am still hoping a 'cryptothrift' opens up where I can trade for goods/services directly with Burst.
Will it ever materialize? Perhaps if there is enough popularity around the coin. If not, then -- I am holding a lot of 'exchange only' coins.
Currently I hold a LOT of 'exchange only' coins.

So I've had to catch up for three pages... we're talking about a Burst clone, that can mine on Burst and the new coin with the same plot files? SIGN ME UP YESTERDAY!!!!

Yes, that works... but it would be so much better if you could include a picture and perhaps a short description and have it function from within your wallet. Plus category searching.
Yes, it's a lot to add -- but a self contained market would boost Burst! Images sell!
The best I can think of which would be relatively simple, would be modding the wallet to create listing with some YAML at the top of each listing, and then having a field for an image. The wallet would then need to hide the loaded image until, either a setting was set to show all images, or the user clicked a show button. Otherwise you might end up showing 5 year olds porn :-/ Point taken... I have three children and I would NOT want them looking over my shoulder at that. Perhaps category links -- at least that way you could get a 'general audience' for people looking for goods / services.

I wish we had an exchange for services site that accepted Burst. There are several sites I use regularly that accept BTC/Alts for payment.
I am not just talking about in wallet marketplace.
That does work, but there is no topology to view all the items for sale... you need to know an individuals ID to view their inventory. A 'public' store to the in wallet marketplace would be a great place to start.

... and people say nobody ever does anything with Burst.
