Well, usually i see the issues for this forum are resolved when brought to the notice of everyone on the Scam Accusations thread, but this is just one of the issues resolved which didn't have the direct link to the bitcoin talk forum. (as i assume she [@xiadefi on X] does not have a bitcointalk account). After reading all of the conversations of you people I can surely say that you are an easy target for such scammers. She threated you that she will distrust you and you sent her crypto without knowing that is she legit or not. By the way, why would someone send $50 to an account with 52k followers only? I think you will have to understand that many people on twitter have more than 52k followers and they might charge you less then $50 for a retweet.
I don't know which project OP wanted to promote (or if it was even a project), but yes, if he could start a bounty for that project, he can get better effective marketing (with many tweets / retweets) as compared to get only two retweets for 50$. |

Yep, somehow this can create spam and repetitve statement about 1xbit but I think it's the best way for us to inform newbies in this forum and other outside this forum, we speaking currently shows that this casino haven't reclaimed their legitimacy and is still inactive not clearing their name. To be honest, accusation in this casino is pretty useless at this point because there's nothing that this forum can so to the victim, this casino won't even budge to nogotiate or reply to those scam accusation,

Well, you are right to the extent that the pen drive may contain viruses but then we are connecting Pen drive to the air gapped computer where the interent will never touch that device. So now, let suppose, a malware comes in the air gapped device through usb drive, but that malware cannot transfer data out to the internet because that device does not have access to the Internet. just buy a hardware wallet. This is way safer for 99% of the people.
Still it depends as many people may buy it from offline and online stores and not from the official store and sometimes it has issues with tempered firmware etc if bought from third party. Open source hardware wallet like Trezor is good alternative but i think using an air gapped device on a Tails OS is much better than using a Ledger hardware wallet which is closed source. Yeah, that's true and it's actually one of the few things that is inevitable, whether we like it or not , a certain number of Bitcoin owners are actually going to end up leaving this world with their key remaining unknown to anyone, even their love one, but I feel this is supposed to be a matter of who's going fall under this category, well I know for sure after all this exposure to this much knowledge, I will definitely find a way to let my love ones or even my spouse know about the my holdings or if that's too wild, I think setting up a means of which they can actually get hold of my key and Bitcoin when mr.death eventually comes knocking.
Do you know what most people who are holding bitcoin are doing or will most probably do? All of them know that they will transfer their private keys to their loved ones when they are near to death but no one will let the keys be transferred ahead of time. Since the death time of everyone is unknown, there may be many who die because of an accident or on the spot death and they would not even get the time to give the private keys to their remaining. Since bitcoin is very new and only the first generation is using it, so we do not come across such cases but after more than 10 to 20 years, a lot of bitcoins will be lost as the current holders of bitcoin wouldn't be alive and they have not transferred the wealth to their near and dear ones. |
