On a better note I guess one of my miners found the last block on this pool...

 Last Found Blocks
Height   Finder   Time   Difficulty   Amount   Expected Shares   Actual Shares   Percentage
347865   Aurel57   03/16/2015 13:42:39   47,427,554,950.6483   25.00   47,427,554,951   101,823,477,146   214.69

Edit: just checked and it was one of my S3 miners (490 Gh/s) that I had just moved back to the pool less than 5 hours earlier.  Shocked and in a twist of faith it was one of 3 miners I named after ....Really?   Cheesy
Congrats on the block find.  It's always a great feeling to know that one of your miners did it.  Too funny that your "...Really?" miner was the one that solved the block for BAN Grin

LoL kind of what I thought .... Nothing wrong with having some fun with the mining. When I get home I will edit the post with a screenshot of the miner.

Threw some rental hash back at p2pool last night about 1 hour before that block was found.... wish I had done it earlier but can hope the pool finds another fast couple.

Fail again... Tongue
LOL... I've refrained... the wound is still too fresh from the last time I rented Tongue

I understand that as you took a hard hit last time.

Just ordered 6 antminer s5s to add to the pool, its no canaan or lightsword granted ... Smiley

Just wondering did you order new or used?

Does anyone know if the heavy hitter who left the pool recently is having issues and plans to return or have they moved on?

Thanks

I am thinking the move was planned as they (Canaan) left right after a block was found. It's not to say they will not come back in the future.

Subject: [Bitcoin Affiliate Network - News Update] Hey aurel57, Incoming DDOS attack

There's an incoming DDOS attack today. I received an extortion request yesterday.
They're claiming to be able to take down all the servers... The threat is credible as they've already
taken down many big pools.

aurel57.. you are receiving this email because you're currently mining in the pool.

If you're in europe or asia switch to this private stratum node: stratum+tcp:xxxxx

You may also use  if xxxx you wish.

I'm currently setting up a private server in the USA.

I took steps yesterday to protect the main web site... which I'm confident will work. We're on a new ip
network behind cloudflare.com ddos protection. There's just not much I can do about the public stratum nodes.
I don't have full control over most of them.

You can keep mining where your'e at right now... perhaps use the private pool as backup... if it's
further from your location.

I will write soon with the US one...

-Gil (s0br)

p.s. This new server isn't public, new, and not known to the attackers. They will keep your mining
safe and unaffected.

Hello,

To introduce ourselves first:

http://blogs.akamai.com/2014/12/dd4bc-anatomy-of-a-bitcoin-extortion-campaign.html

http://bitcoinbountyhunter.com/bitalo.html

http://cointelegraph.com/news/113499/notorious-hacker-group-involved-in-excoin-theft-owner-accuses-ccedk-of-withholding-info

Or just google “DD4BC” and you will find more info.

Recently, we were DDoS-ing bw.com, bitminter and other pools - you probably know for it if you read cryptocurrency news.

So, it’s your turn.

Unless you pay 10 BTC to 1LHPpEdxWvhQip3KqdRd9jgBuYHSGUB7Zp within 12 hours from now, your pool servers are going under heavy DDoS attack.

Pay, and you will never hear from us again.

Usually, we attack first, then ask BTC to stop, but since your pool is too big, one of the largest Bitcoin pools, we are giving you time to act first, because we are well aware that even 1 hour offline would cause much larger damage then 10 BTC.

12 hours, because we are not in the same time zone and it’s morning in china, so we want to make sure that you had time to act.

AS PROOF that this is not an empty threat, we will run a small attack on on your server now – 188.166.18.30. Don’t worry it’s not going to be hard and will run for just 1 hour, so your server will not get null routed.
But if not paid, all your servers are going down for good.

Please note that it will not be easy to mitigate our attack, because our current UDP flood power is 400-500 Gbps.

IMPORTANT: You don’t even have to reply. Just pay 10 BTC to 1LHPpEdxWvhQip3KqdRd9jgBuYHSGUB7Zp – we will know it’s you and you will never hear from us again.

But if you ignore us, attack will start and price to stop will go to 20 BTC and will keep going up for every day of delay.

ONE MORE TIME: It’s a one-time payment. Pay and you will not hear from us ever again!

Thank you.

13 minutes after my message I got a payment. I have to wonder if I am correct with the time settings. I did change it lower.
I have mine set at 12 hours and my last 2 payments before this last one were sent 12 hours apart. The pool runs out of coins is why payments are late most of the time. Only a few times in the past it was due to s0br being the only one that could move coins to the hot wallet and he was MIA and we had to wait for him to refill it. After all the coins that were found in the last few days I think payments will be back on time for a while now.

LOL... I keep getting the emails about found blocks and think to myself, "at least this should give the pool a nice BTC buffer to manage the payouts during the inevitable bad luck streak."

Guess not.

Well maybe once these new blocks confirm it might help a lot...I hope  Tongue

jonny I agree.  My short answer is instead of "luck" think in terms of variance. The question is how to make the variance not as high swings and that short answer in my opinion is  to spread your hash over a couple of pools. Then the things to consider are pool fees, size of the pool and integrity of the pool operator.

Maybe joining the pool on Friday the 13th was a bad idea?  I hope I'm not bad luck Grin  Been mining here since Friday at 1pm EST and no payout  Cry

It looks like the pool just found a block, so your first payout will be after about 17 hours.

Yes and don't be alarmed at the amount of your payment as your still ramping up.
653  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BitAffNet] How we're the #1 Bitcoin Mining Pool In The World (proof inside) on: March 15, 2015, 01:46:11 PM
The good news is BAN has 4 blocks 5   6 BLOCKS so far today, the pool is on fire hitting blocks... the bad news going on 38+hours again without payment.

The pool loss about half of the hash it had prior to finding the last block, due to a large miner leaving, so the blocks are coming slower but the payouts will be bigger. Just don't get discouraged with your first payouts until you get past the 500% mark which this block is at 167%. Kano has explained how the payout systems works many times here. Bottom line is this pool is honest with no worries.
655  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: most profitable pool on: March 14, 2015, 07:16:14 PM
Hi, I am about to buy 11 antminers s'5 and ,being new in the mining stuff, just need some help to find the most profitable pool . I readed about slush, and antpool...but just dont know. I am from spain and I got a page that sell for 40 € a  Tacens Radix VII AG 600W 80 Plus Silver,do you see them good for the s5? thank you.

It depends on if you are the type of miner that wants to take a chance doesn't mind variance or wants a steady payout. For steady use one of the PPS pools like BAN which has a 0% fee or DFish which charges a 4% fee. The trade off is DFish makes payments on time daily and BAN is always late on payments a lot but has always paid.

If you want to take more of a chance don't mind variance  then use kano's pool which pays PPLNS and you will only get paid if and when the pool finds a block and charges a  Pool fee of .9% . Another pool you can try is Slush but if you pull your miners before a block is found you may lose all your shares you mined. You can also try a p2pool node near you.

I've been mining with Kano for over 24 hours and have not yet received a payout.  And my doing something wrong?

Roll Eyes  Welcome aboard... not sure if your doing anything wrong but the pool has not found a block in the last 25 hours and even then the payout will not come until the blocks has 100+  confirms.

I've been getting paid regularly.  Haven't had a problem.

So you have not had any late payments at all?  Roll Eyes
660  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BitAffNet] How we're the #1 Bitcoin Mining Pool In The World (proof inside) on: March 13, 2015, 12:13:40 PM
Exactly. Payout rate has even been higher than Nicehash the last 2 days. My rigs have as good a hash rate as they have had on any other pool too. So, I'm a bit surprised this pool doesn't have 15+ PHS.

It most likely would be a lot higher if payments were made on time or on  some sort of time table that people could count on.
