641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tenebrix Landing-page on: October 07, 2011, 10:08:54 PM
Awesome work, in a way I liked how Tenebrix was on a Wordpress theme with a default image, added to the charm, but that site will definitely draw a serious user.
642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FeedTheProtest to begin paying microbloggers in Bitcoin on: October 07, 2011, 10:03:29 PM
5 updates for 1 btc, anyone would be a fool not to pop out their phone, start a Twitter account or something, and get to covering if you are already out there or near the area.

Not getting paid and it was Coinotron that wanted to play the high stakes game. At anytime they decide they don't want to go forward, all they have to do is say so.

I can't believe this.  Please link.   You are the opposite of douche right now.
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trade-Btc.com Brand new Bitcoin Exchange, buy sell and send Bitcoins! on: October 07, 2011, 09:40:51 PM
Trade-BTC pm'd me about an hour ago, one of my issues in this thread is going to possibly be resolved, will edit my other posts if so to reflect this.   Has nothing to do with the background check going on, but he is definitely trying to right this issue at the least.

Also, about the age thing, I can see one not wanting to tout an age depending on how serious your business is going to be, I think zhoutong is definitely the exception, not the rule, but I wouldn't mind if it became a trend just to shake shit up in the Bitcoin world as far as legal and government issues are concerned.   Would any illegal activity default on the parents or is there a cool juvi hall for kids who cheated on their taxes.

645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: #occupywallstreet #operationbitcoin GA Bitcoin Speech for Open Mic on: October 07, 2011, 09:27:02 PM
I don't agree with Michael Moore all the time but go find him and convince him to use bitcoins.  Use his celebrity power so people will listen.

Take this old idea https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=25502.0 and run with it!  Make it work.  I no longer have the patience Sad      I swear to all things holy that someone like Penn is going to be talking about Bitcoin five years down the road when he could easily be talking about it next week.

Also,  the amount of new people to the community seems to be declining.

THE COMMUNITY

Who taught you that word and where did you get a link to these forums?

I would go with the opposite, the community has grown so large, that there are now many communities https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=44712.0

There is some connection between these three "people". No point denying it lolcust/artforz/SAC/bitcoinexpress

MY mind is made up !

Hey, that is four.    And you should throw OldMiner in for good measure.
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Business Insider : Amazon.Com accepts bitcoins on: October 07, 2011, 07:36:13 PM
The solution is simple: There are Indians and other foreigners that can do full-time data entry work like this for no more than $5 an hour.

$5 an hour?   Last Indian person I had do a few hundred Photoshops of for something I couldn't do batch work for, did it for $40 and I had him for the full week.  You are paying too much Wink

I try and get out of the mindset of if I need to hire a hacker, think Russian, and if I need labor, think Indian.  Honestly, if I can't do the work with my own two hands or with just two extra set, physically around me mind you, I wouldn't hire anyone for this online, it isn't worth it.

I didn't think however, anyone who is underage that may not be employable in most places, could easily be making a mini-fortune after school just processing orders.
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trade-Btc.com Brand new Bitcoin Exchange, buy sell and send Bitcoins! on: October 07, 2011, 07:30:37 PM
Let me go ahead and add fear to this thread by saying I just tried to Withdraw my big 2.2 btc amount, and got a page that says

Status
Insufficent funds.

I went down to 2.1.  Then for no real reason, 2.0.   I seem to have insufficient funds to send funds.

Benefit of the doubt, last issue I had with this site, things seemed to have resolved themselves after a day or something.    I guess my $8 is stuck with Trade-BTC for now.  I hope for positive things to come out of this thread and lots of misunderstandings.
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am putting Bitcoin.us domain name up for auction. on: October 07, 2011, 07:23:10 PM
Bitcoin.us was last sold for $97 on June 29, 2011
http://domainsaleprices.info/tldsales/2011/_us.htm

I missed this, good times lol.
651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Business Insider : Amazon.Com accepts bitcoins on: October 07, 2011, 07:20:33 PM
Perfect opening for someone else to step in.

The work of a full time amazon associate and having to deal with Bitcoin bullshit.  It seems that even if you had the full amount of orders in one day every day for a full week, the money earned wouldn't be worth the data entry work that would be involved.   If I could find a second person to help me, I would take this on, I remember that guys' services.
652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trade-Btc.com Brand new Bitcoin Exchange, buy sell and send Bitcoins! on: October 07, 2011, 07:18:06 PM
I see the mytheoryontrade-btc.com domain is still available lol

I wish all scam threads had a cheat sheet image to go to for information.
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin7.com 'hacked'. Database and wallets 'stolen' on: October 07, 2011, 07:04:24 PM
1. Set up an exchange with timing that coincides with a large amount of distrust in your competition and desperation for alternatives. Name it something reminiscent of the hit 1970's British sci-fi show, Blake's 7 and the 1960 film, The Magnificent Seven.

654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: Do you use Silk Road? on: October 07, 2011, 07:01:00 PM
I saw somebody say yesterday that most of the bitcoin economy went through silk road, I will try to find it ...

hahahah, bullshit.   I see it as such a small percent.   But I can only base my personal bullshit guess on what I see overall, unfortunately that is only the vocal users, which I guess the smarter Silk Road users would not be, so I guess this is possible anyone into Bitcoin is supporting a drug economy of some sorts.

If this is the case though, less "legit" users and business' need to know about Bitcoin, and more drug users need to get in, as then they would be the ones actually making Bitcoin work.

And if that is the case, time for everyone to stick Bitcoin fliers in their local bong stores.   Which they should be doing anyways honestly.

Is there a list of core Bitcoin committers?

Somebody make a filthy Bitcoin dirty joke and use the time allowed to just tell that dirty joke, maybe work Bitcoin in an Aristocrats joke

Bitcoin will forever be remembered.
657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: Do you use Silk Road? on: October 07, 2011, 06:36:32 PM
I still think some people overestimate the percentage of bitcoin economy flowing through Silk Road.

Who are these some people, and what are their overestimations?

I bet every person who has replied in this thread has a completely different number or percentage of Bitcoin users that use Silk Road in their head.   If I had a pie chart of all Bitcoin users, I would only estimate that 4% are using Silk Road at all, with maybe 8% having tried using the site at least once.

All your eggs are in one basket (USA), are you prepared for a possible social collapse in the coming years?

Loaded questions are so fair.
659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NEW Major chain restaurant to accept Bitcoins? on: October 07, 2011, 06:24:35 PM

If you all are going to be emailing these people, try to stick to just facts that represent the situation and person you are emailing only.  Don't let them know about Bitcoin users that are only in it for the politics of it all (unless you are one of them, then just try and keep the focus on Bitcoin and not your weird theories on why the world sucks).

Well done jimbobway, my above comment has nothing to do with your exchange at all, really pro.  The person just needs to understand the ability to accept Bitcoin and the ease to do so, is not going to get in the way of established business they get, it can really only bring in more.
660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trade-Btc.com Brand new Bitcoin Exchange, buy sell and send Bitcoins! on: October 07, 2011, 06:20:10 PM
Flip theory, the kid is the one doing all this.   Bram uses his dad's name where it might seem necessary to have an adult or some shit, except maybe not doing it as wisely as he thought.   Bitcoinica came from someone just 17, right?

I'm just shooting out quick thoughts, looking at more of this 'evidence' now. ..  I mean, this is one of the few exchanges I use, I guess I should be more on top of this one lol

Worth noting some of Trade-BTC's amusing past here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=26783.msg336588, I forget if it was under a different user name.
