Have updated files once again to fix small bug report, can try them if you are having problems.
Will release the even more optimized clients when possible

Thanks I got it to work This is my first attempt at mining so your guide was very helpful! Thanks, Solo mining is a bit difficult now so I added .bat and .txt file to make it easier to setup using p2pool

2 question:
1) Is it going to work with pools ?
2) how can it be run under linux ?
yes it works with pools, please see my first response above, I have tested the clients using p2pool. I will release some more variants, and the faster client as soon as I can.

so the miner is the wallet? how does that work? or are we supposed to use the miner from august?
This is just an optimized standalone miner, you also need the client, please get that from the main Quark thread. In the link above I made new files for multiple types of CPUs. See my message above on how to mine with the p2pool. (work in progress) Will update it with solo mining instructions as well

Easy P2pool mining: Neisklar's P2Pool - 3% fee
http://176.221.46.81:8372/static/
Example command-line or to place in .bat:
Minerd.exe -a quark --url 176.221.46.81:8372 -O QV41kKfw9L6qNr43SNRFci9HzgsxeJf5yh:x 1) replace QV41kKfw9L6qNr43SNRFci9HzgsxeJf5yh to address you would like your quark sent too.(do not replace :x) 2) Profit! you will see payments coming into the address you specified in 1.

The price is currently 0.0005, that's 0.5$/DTC. That's great.
It could be much better. DTC are extremely hard to mine. Dif seems to still be rising too

as we all know, bitcoin shows its value when current financial system shows its weaknesses and perhaps collapse.
a guy on another bitcoin forum just told me, he wish osama bin laden will soon detonate a dirty nuke in nyc or china will go to war with japan from their recent air defense zone spat.
he explains to me in the following chaos and disasters, people will lose their life savings and governments will impose capital control and seize citizens’s property, thus causing people to pile their money into bitcoins, so that he can get rich.
do you all share his sentiment?
lol the china vrs japan thing? China wants to legitimize current/even more military spending and so they do this to keep masses in line , Japan wants reasons to justify bulking up military , in fact Japan wants to spend as much as possible and create massive inflation (abenomics) so the leaders both agree to this long beforehand, and laugh all the way to the bank at people's expense. This is just a bad movie....

I don't think anyone has ever monetized testnet coins before... at least for dtc lol
|
|
|
nice development, I think lots of modern mobos can support 1.5A through bios or software anyway (through usb 2.0?) for the casual miner anyway, not sure how many you could run....

Thanks for the good feedback and tip!
You could try testnet out I guess with the variants and calculate which one spits out more blocks over x time, as thats what really matters. dif is super low on testnet atm tho so be prepared to watch blocks fly
excuse me, may I ask what's the testnet? I mean, how dose it work? All you need to do is open up datacoin.conf and place"testnet=1" into the file. When you restart the client it will use testnet coins instead of real chain, DTC icon on taskbar will be green, not yellow if it's working. The benefit is on testnet if you pump out 1 block per day on the main chain, you can pump out 100 blocks a minute pretty much on testnet, so you know the client is working and creating blocks properly and need not run comparisons over days or longer on main chain. Works great to test on slower computers too. You can also tweak client settings to optimize finding the most blocks and get results to your changes in real time. to find this file on windows look in c:\users\youruser\appdata\roaming\datacoin
