641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: October 30, 2023, 08:04:04 AM
Something caught my attention here, he start gambling after losing his wife? Am I the only one seeing that part? I think this person is blaming himself for losing the woman, he resulted into gambling as a gateway to forget her it seems, but maybe he just can't, people who lost their loved ones also have some ideas, like they can't move on and they start locking themselves inside the house all day.

I think this person needs to get the hell out of the house, and do something else, the family should help, take him out of the house or someone should stay with him and keep him company, honestly it's not the end of the world if you lose a woman, do you even know how many better women are out there? I know their numbers is limited because the world isn't normal anymore but good women still exists.

He should seek help, if you know any relative of his I think you should let them know, for someone who don't care anymore about themselves and keep doing stupid things shows they have gone reckless.

For even saying that he isn't gambling for fun doesn't mean he is gambling to make money, it could be what my mind is telling me, make it all or lose it all in gambling is common with people who are hurt, they choose to risk everything and lose everything, right in between and whatever happens they don't care, that person needs attention fast.
642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have we seen the lowest low of this bear market? on: October 29, 2023, 04:23:57 PM
Since the FTX crash I listened a lot to Gareth Soloway and Nicholas Merten from Datadash. Both expected lower lows. Soloway even expected BTC to get under 10k at some point. With the recent price rise I'm a bit worried that the ship has sailed. In his most recent video he no longer mentioned these lows. He even mentioned a 50k possibility for this year.

What are your thoughts? How big of a price rise do you expect if an ETF gets approved?
And is a scenario of World War III (Israel + USA + NATO vs an alliance of Islamic countries) bullish or bearish?

You can listen to others but not that Gareth Soloway, that man knows nothing about crypto market and everything he says are always over exaggerated, do not take him seriously, in 2019 I was mislead by listening to all these crypto popular figures, John Mcafee was one of them, and there is also others too, I planned to start buying only when they claimed it right time to start buying, and I missed every good opportunities.

Instead of following these people it's better to trust your DCA skills only, start buying when the market is in red and DCA across the months in the bear market and only stop when the bull market starts, and start taking your profits when it's good enough for you, forget all crypto influencers either small or big, they are all saying and doing what they like, they are also investors just like you and they will be waiting to dump on those who are clueless.

Finally, World War isn't ever going to happen, there were greater regrets in the last world wars and honestly it was a pointless war, it's not worth it, I don't believe that another world war will ever happen again, so let's hope for a better future and stop thinking about something that will never happen.

Stay Positive.
643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: what are the reputable casino with vault feature? on: October 29, 2023, 02:39:58 PM
Why deposit money on a casino when you aren't ready to play with it? That's not good, so if I recommend any casino with vault features for you now you will store your crypto assets on such storage? Or the money you win from the casino? It's like entrusting your wins back into the hands of the people you won the money from, I don't like the sound of it.

Once you win some amount from any online casino you are to withdraw the fund straight away, this will make you really have the money in hand and it will also make you not likely gamble with the money again, you are simply lowering your chances of getting greedy and using that amount to try your luck again.

I know few casinos that use these features but as a responsible gambler I don't think I will ever use such feature unless there is something I am truly missing, maybe extra winning advantage or something, so tell me, is there something I am missing for not using vaults on a gambling platform? I doubt it.
644  Other / Beginners & Help / A bad practice that cost a friend everything. on: October 29, 2023, 10:10:31 AM
A friend lost all his Ethereum and tokens two days ago and it came to my attention, this is someone who I shared some tips about crypto wallets with some past months ago, I made sure he generate the new wallet offline and he wrote his recovery seed down, though I was not there with him, we are having the conversation online.

So I was like how the hell he managed to lost his recovery seed to hackers or scammers, he started swearing that he is damn sure he did nothing wrong, and we meet today, looking into his phone and my mind was on the phone, thinking maybe he rooted the phone or something, then I stumbled on his recovery seed been screenshot, that was when I knew he messed up.

He have some picture apps on his phone for meme creations and picture filtering apps, one of this apps have access to his library, including all his photos, and I believe the app scooped the image screenshot, maybe the developer of the app happen to stumble on the picture and decide to steal the fund.

The funds were moved to Binance exchange and sold, we are now hoping that Binance help in this case because he filed complain to them and hopefully the scammer already KYCed on Binance exchange.

Now I am starting to believe that some app creators are intentionally creating useful apps for people to use only to gain access into their files and pictures, this is why when apps ask for some access on my phone I always block them.

This is new to me, but let's take this serious, some stupid crypto wallets still allow taking screenshots, it's wrong, this should be a RED FLAG when installing a crypto wallet on your phone, and as for you and everyone it's a stupid idea to take screenshot of your recovery seed.

Do not be like those average users, take your wallet security very seriously like your life depends on it.

Stop taking screenshot of your recovery seeds, it's basically you storing it online for someone else to see.
645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Changed the game you gamble on? share your story. on: October 29, 2023, 09:40:48 AM
I know few gamblers that have changed their games to something else and most times when this happen it's because they are not winning any thing from the old game they used to play, but the bitter truth is it doesn't matter which game you decide to place bet on, they are all called gambling and it deals with having some good luck around you.

For gamblers, everyday is not going to be a good day, because the only way to make money the right way is to give something back in return, you can develop a new skills and solve peoples problem and they will pay you in return, this is one of the best ways to make money, but gambling is something different entirely.

The only thing I could recommend is switching the online casino you are using to take risks, because some times the luck you get varies on which online casinos you are using, I get better result when I decide to change my casino to a not too old online casino, this is more better than changing games itself, remember that it's you vs the house.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How is the increase in Bitcoin price benefits us on: October 27, 2023, 06:58:56 AM
I am grateful to myself for seeing opportunities before my eye and taking them, I bought most of my Bitcoin in 2022 when it dumped down to 17,000 range and after the price start to recover, and the second dip was around 15,700 which I also bought more but not as much as my first heavy purchase, as you can see its benefits me buying at the bottom.

I had to get some more money saved separately for future dumps, which I've successfully did, because at this stage even while we are all waiting for ETF approval it's possible that something bad can hit the market and cause major panic among investors again, it could be intentional or not, but I don't care about that.

I believe that those who buy Bitcoin at a cheaper rate will get the best returns over all, so if you want Bitcoint to be beneficial to you it's better to buy at a lower price, now I am only buying with few dollars every week, because the price is a bit high now.

The lower the price of Bitcoin the higher the money you must use to buy at first because it's an opportunity that wont last for long, and the higher the value has become you just have to keep using DCA strategy with few bucks.
647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question for those who loose too frequently in gambling on: October 26, 2023, 09:22:07 AM
I have often wondered about the people who have lost a lot in gambling and who almost loose in every gambling activity they participate. What is their reason or motivation to continue even after so many losses?
Maybe they learn something after all the loses? The reason why they keep losing is unclear to anyone so its possible that they have been gambling with wrong strategy, I believe that if you are a result responsible gambler you won't worry about your losses no matter how many times it happens because the money you risk is nothing compare to a lot of money, so maybe they finally get better and decide to adjust themselves.

Although some people are so stubborn, they keep losing and they aren't curious why, meaning they won't learn from their mistakes, if you can be aware of yourself about your losses it's because you are using too much money to gamble.

First do some calculation on how much you are earning per month and how much you always spend on bills and food, all these must come first and when there is spare money, even if it's just $2 it's enough for gambling, only increase if you make more money every month.
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it better to invest or trade Bitcoin? on: October 26, 2023, 08:02:24 AM
I choose to invest in Bitcoin first because I realize that trading takes time to learn and the market condition doesn't wait for anyone, if you have your money sitting somewhere it's better to look into buying Bitcoin from time to time before 2025, you can always learn more about trading later.

It took a whole year to gain knowledge about crypto trading, I used to believe that it's impossible to know how to read chart but it's not that hard like I used to picture it, you can start using demo account for trading to understand how charts and buttons work, I believe this is the easiest part, the hard part starts from drawing line and using analysis, it could get confused at first.

Trading is something you can learn on your own but it will be harder, to make your journey faster you need a good teacher that's why I prefer to advice people into going for trading courses and buying trading tools, things aren't that hard as they used to, today you can spend money on tools that will show you when to buy and when to sell, most times they are accurate, if you can do your research right you will find them.
649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you keep a record of winnings and losses in gambling? on: October 26, 2023, 07:15:00 AM
Do you keep a record of winnings and losses in gambling? Many here will feel that this is waste of time and will also not let them enjoy the game peacefully. Do you also have same mentality?
Waste of time? That's not how I see this, keeping record can trigger you emotions, it's two ways, either it makes you feel like you are wasting your money or it enraged you into thinking that you are not doing enough.

Mostly I believe it will make you feel like you are wasting money, because a little drop of water makes a mighty ocean, even if you are using small amount to gamble, time will fly by and when you look back its possible you won't like what you will see.

I don't feel like keeping record because it can hinder the way I feel when gambling, if you want to quit gambling all you need is keep your record, you will understand how thinly the chances of winning is in gambling, so don't keep records, just stick to a certain amount and keep taking risks, you don't even have to gamble everyday, only do it when you have the money.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dangerous chasing losses on: October 26, 2023, 06:40:58 AM
I've been there and I know how you feel, it takes a brave heart to go this route and learn from his mistakes, many don't learn and they keep trying over until they have nothing left, all you have to do is have a certain amount in mind for gambling, and you don't have to win everyday, have this in mind.

If you believe that you must win today, if you lose few rounds you will want to keep gambling, this is not the right way to gamble, if $100 is all you can afford to lose then use only $100, and if you lose it do not bring out another fresh money to gamble.

I learnt this lesson the hard way, and I get myself after I made some adjustments, either it's a win day or a loss day I will never use more than I have planned to use for gambling that day, many have difficult time standing on this plan but this is the best one that I know.
651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Just like visiting a cinema on: October 25, 2023, 11:24:26 AM
This have been discussed few times before and someone have to do it again maybe often, for those of you looking to become a gambler what is your motives behind it? To make money? Or to have some fun? Here is my advice to everyone of you.

Why not treat casinos the same ways like you are going to the movies or bowling? You are simply paying for the experience and the entertainment, it's either you enjoy it or you may not, can you feel me? You don't know how bad a movie can be until you watched it, so....

Casinos, either online or offline, isn't a place to win money for the 99% of people, but this same group of people want to confused or already confused themselves that they can make money gambling, this isn't the proper way. It's meant to be for fun and not so serious like your life depends on it.

If you want your life to goes on with ease, learn to be a fun gambler and not too dependent on gambling, this is what gets people f**ked, the reality of gambling is you win when it's not even expected, be a responsible gambler.

I beg to differ.
They are both fun but one is more social friendly than the other, no matter how you put it, casino is a place where people hang out to make some money while movies is pure social hangout where nobody will ever complain of what you come to do.

When I went to watch match, the way I get to entertain myself in a movie night is different from the I get entertainment in playing bet. Haven't been to any casino before but I have visit bet shops back then when gambling weren't really online, the likes of Betnaija and Nairabet in those days where fun to do. The feelings I have experienced over their actually is different from the fun of movie night.

I hope you do know that you can take your babe along for a movie night bit you can't do that when it comes to gambling like casino. If you go to play in a casino house, all your attention is going to be there unless you are a professional gambler but in a movie night, the atmosphere will be quiet, when you have pop corn and Pepsi, you forget about making money but in gambling, no matter how you try to swerve from the money aspect, you will want to make some money, give or take your attention will be there.
I respect your opinion but this topic isn't mainly focused on the difference, the lesson to learn from this topic is using that small amount as near as buying a ticket to watch movies, that's what I meant by setting your minds on small amount of money to gain some fun, sometimes I spent money on ticket and the movie will be disappointing, but since what we spent isn't something alarming, we are still going to be cool about it anyway.

Watching a football match is also the same, If you bet too much on a match you ain't going to enjoy the game, been social or not, your mind will be hoping for a win because you bet what you consider to be a lot of money, so you will panic anyway.

It's not the differences that I am pointing to, let's learn from this idea of comfortably watching movies as the same as gambling, we will be fine doing so, that's why every dollar bet on a game is nothing because its a dollar you betting, this is where all the fun will get to you.
652  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Need advice on getting merits on: October 25, 2023, 10:22:24 AM
Concentrate more on having a good time on the forum, merits come when you don't even expect it, be real and stay positive, find good posts and engage in the discussion, give valid points why something is what you believe it is, this is when your replies will worth some merits.

Also bring in stuff that are crypto related that many people may not know about, share your experience and ask questions about things you don't know or have idea about, and also do not put in more effort as if you are craving for merits, people will intentionally ignore your posts for doing so.

I have read some topics that obviously look like the poster are begging for merit or using an indirect method to look for merit, be real and legit with yourself, you will be fine.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 25, 2023, 09:14:38 AM
The best time so far for me was when I won two times in a week, it was a very good experience, I know it's more for some people but I have this habit, or maybe better called luck that, whenever I won a gamble I wont be winning another in that same week, this affected the way I take risks for a while, as I started taking a whole week off from gambling activities once I win a game.

I am not always the type that gets lucky constantly but I like taking a week off when I win, sorry this is just how I feel about gambling, most times before when I win a game I felt like I can still win more so I keep going but never get anywhere.

What I have noticed is that I always win when I don't even feel like I will win, I don't know if this is the same for many other gamblers too, if I have my mind set on a game it's going to come back as a loss, but when I don't have my mind set on it, things works out differently.

655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling Generally An Illicit Activity? on: October 24, 2023, 12:12:57 PM
Quote
money laundering is any financial transaction which generates an asset or a value as the result of an illegal act,"

I'd like to point out that their explanation of money laundering is pretty complex. If we follow these definitions, it would mean that in countries where Bitcoin is prohibited or restricted, anyone who uses Bitcoin (a decentralized system) might be considered involved in money laundering. While gambling is considered illegal in many places, I wouldn't classify it as money laundering. When you gamble or bet, you're essentially risking your money, and if you win, you make some profits. Moreover, these casinos are legally registered with the government, so they aren't engaged in anything illegal. I wouldn't define this as money laundering, as per the actual definition of money laundering.

Quote from: www.google.com
Money laundering is the illegal process of making illegally obtained money, typically from criminal activities, appear to come from legal sources, obscuring its illicit origin.

It's a gateway, you are not into this strategies that's why you dont believe that there is a way to move money around in a casino, what will it take the casino owners to pretend as a gambler from another country and then credit their account as if they win a lot of money? And it's actually them, from the inside, now they take out the money and fund their nonsense, all you need to do is think.

This is just one out of many ways, even companies that are into pie making are into smuggling of drugs and other things, criminal organizations have incredible unsighting ways they can carry out their operations, you will be shocked if you hear them.

The most popular method is cashing in and out of the casino, as if it belongs not to them but to a total stranger and another similar way is by abusing the gambling accounts on their platforms.
656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling Generally An Illicit Activity? on: October 24, 2023, 11:03:11 AM
Why did OP mention Wikipedia? It's man made bro, so don't always take them this serious. Gambling to me has some part that's into illicit activities, even right from the olden days, centuries back, illegal gambling also became one of the masterpiece activities of methodical crime, today any business can be used as a back door for illegal activities, it's not gambling only.

This is why the government is very serious with casinos regulations, because they knew that right from day one many illegal activities are been carried out by those running casinos, and that's why they mandatory KYC requirements too.

It's why some countries will never accept gambling activities among it's people, they believe it's a very harmful habit, they failed to approve gambling when they know that they can make some money from the it and use the fund on the country, but it seems they care more for their citizens, like Cyprus and Cambodia.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are no KYC casinos taking risks? on: October 24, 2023, 09:49:25 AM
Nope. Not at all cases.

There are legitimate casinos that do maintain their posture for being a non KYC casino for some of their users that are clean on their activities. Yeah, it's typical that they should ask KYC for everyone but that only happens when it's really needed.

So, if there's no need for them to ask a player for KYC then they wouldn't do that. They'll only do that when something triggers them coming from that user like huge or unusual withdrawals or deposits.
For whatsoever reason why they will ask for KYC is going to be known to them only, not you, so how will you know what went wrong? Still they have the control and the right to ask anyone for KYC when you don't expect, this says everything, it is not always when you deposit large amount or when you log into the platform from another brand new phone, there can be other reasons.

I wish every casinos that don't necessary ask for KYC will always come out and tell their customers what really went wrong as why they are asking them to pass KYC, this is the only thing I don't like about gambling platforms.

Still I don't have problem with KYC verification, in fact I prefer passing the KYC verification before I start using the platform to place my bets and have some fun, there will be no unexpected KYC requirement or others because I am already verified.
658  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Something dangerous we do when using Binance P2P platform on: October 24, 2023, 08:57:21 AM
Truthfully, if you don't drop your phone number they aren't paying, I know that some are doing this to notify you to release funds after, as some sellers are not serious, they can initial the trade and start doing something else, wasting someone else time, but the truth is this act is out of Binance platform, you break the rules if you decide to do trade with such people, they have your phone number and they can text dangerous link to you pretending to be from Binance.

I strongly believe this is how the victim lost is phone number to strangers, to make some transactions a success, and yet losing your data in the process, I hope this teach people something new today. Roll Eyes
What in the world! I never read the agreement terms, but fortunately never received any phishing link on my number, but thanks for the info as I will try to be more careful next time while making P2p on Binance, I rarely make TXs on Binance but whenever I make, I didn't read the terms.

I also read the topic of _act_ and replied in it, and I did not come to think of this reason, like why those people are getting such phishing messages. I thought, as many other also thought, it might be inside job, but no, this is really happening outside of the Binance and they have nothing to do with such scams. All is happening, due to the mistakes of the users themselves.

Well, awareness of this information is compulsory because, when more people will be aware of it, then people will definitely try to avoid such sellers or buyers, and S&B have to change this term.
Yeah it's possible not to receive any link as SMS on your phone number and that's because not all of them are bad people, some get your number so that they can reach you when the money they sent you haven't be verified by bank yet or maybe network delays at times, but there are scammers among them too and if you are already used to dropping your number you won't mind dropping it for the scammer, since you won't know they are scammers.

Some people don't actually care about asking for phone number, they still proceed with the transaction and they are legit, also snappier when making the transaction so it's a matter of choice, also Binance have the Express p2p trading where the exchange rate is same with other and there is no need for someone asking you for your number or anything else, it's straight forward.
659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you prepare for a Bitcoin bull run? on: October 23, 2023, 10:18:38 AM
I think the hype from the media is working on people starting from this month, everyone is now minding for the Bitcoin halving as the start of the next bull run, you want to hear the truth? You will be disappointed, because after the halving the price will lose the hype like always and everyone will feel like WTH?

Halving isn't the start of the bull run, not until some few months later into 2025 but yes it's safe to say that the bull market starts in the same year as the halving but not like all people are expecting.

I am used to accessing my wallet everyday, as I can't do without moving some funds here and there but I don't keep large amount of assets in the wallet, most of them are moved to my offline wallet and yes I have my keys secured, thanks for reminding us, I am fully prepared for 2024 and beyond.
660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do your parents know about your gambling habit ? on: October 23, 2023, 09:15:43 AM
I have parents that don't believe in gambling and they strongly advice against it almost all the time, they tell stories about those who are exposed to gambling at a young age and unable to grow because of the addiction they have for gambling.

This was a very long time ago and now I don't live with my parents anymore, but I don't think that any parent will feel good about their kids getting into gambling, I can only take my eye off a child who is into gambling if they are smart, I know they will be fine, no one knows their child better than parents.

If I am still living under my parents roof I won't let them know that I am into gambling because they will be in worries for me, it's healthier for them not to know, if I believe that I can explain my responsible gambling tactics to them, what if they don't still get it or believe it? Older people needs less worries at their age so it's better not to get them involve.
