Really there is no point for us to be "solo" mine btc on this small pool vs something like BTC Guild/etc that solves blocks in minutes. Not weeks.
Sorry not trying to be rude or anything, just a fact this new 391 million diff just made it even harder to find a block, mining btc requires a huge amount of hashing power, something
that is seriously lacking here.
So please lets get back to mine the most profitable "alt" coin.

No, we're not retreating into alts. We are a Bitcoin pool now. The challenge is to grow our hashrate. There is loads of ASIC hashpower coming online now, and I know that some of those people will want to maximize their profits. We just need to let them know we are out here. How about doing some promotion in "Bitcoin Forum > Bitcoin > Mining > Pools" forum to drum up some business. I'm think many Bitcoin miners don't know you are here hidden in "Alternate cryptocurrencies" I have a thread in the Pools section already and we're added to the "List of Pools" post. |

well here is another question seeing all other alt coins are % profit to btc, how are we ever going to mine alt coins seeing btc is 100% most profitable?
We mine the altcoins when they go over 100%. |

Well if we are going to be a BTC pool, how about a PPS system in place. Make it worth our wild.  The BTC pool will likely switch to PPLNS at some point, as we aren't likely to attract too many miners with a hoppable reward system. So I'll have to figure that out. PPS is a non-starter. |

Those of us who were testing the PPC pool aren't being credited the shares that were submitted before the problem was fixed and it was added to the multipool? So I wasted my hashes for about 24 hours on that coin?
It looks like the first block wasn't credited properly. I'll look into this as soon as I can. Don't worry, it won't be mature for another 2 days or so |

So if the bitcoin pool has 370 million difficulty one shares, and we have 100% luck we should be hitting a block in the next day or too right?
It doesn't work exactly like that, but yeah the difficulty should equal the average number of difficulty 1 shares that are solved before a block is found. |

We found a PPC block earlier today, it's in the wallet but the gettransactions script is throwing an error. I won't have time to look into this in detail for a couple hours, but we have found a block so if anyone was worrying you can stop I'll be fixing this issue and adding PPC to the multiport later tonight. |

Is there a reason why setting a PPC payment address *appears* to be accepted initially, then on going back to the Account page later, the wallet address and auto payout threshold have disappeared?

You should really consider adding merged mining as well to this pool and factoring that into the profit calculations, you could be merging in namecoin, ixcoin, i0coin, devcoin along side mining head chains of bitcoin, terracoin and freicoin. This will make everyone a little more profitable and help boost pool usage I'd think on the sha-256 side of things.
I've already stated that I plan to add merged mining to the BTC pool after we find our first block. It's unlikely that anything could be merged with the alts as the merged chain difficulty has to be lower than the main chain difficulty, and all of the merge coins already have higher difficulty than frc and most are either close to or higher than terracoin and ppcoin. |

It seems like Incapsula might be having issues right now.. I can't get to multipool or cryptsy (I think they also use Incapsula).. But I can get there just fine if I don't go thru Incapsula.

Does the multiport make anyone elses miners crash? Every time a coin switch happens in bfgminer, it crashes or makes devices go sick. Instead of using the pool's switching logic, I've been using MultiMiner based on Coinchoose's profitability accounting for stales. I then just set it up to connect to the individual ports for MultiPool. Right now Feathercoin is the most profitable according to Coinchoose, so I'm mining that.(Phoenixcoin is overall better profitability, but has a high stale rate, so feathercoin works out to be more profitable)
I haven't had any issues with bfgminer with my ASIC, but I use cgminer for scrypt, because it gets a better hashrate from what I've seen. |

Litecoin (any Alternative coin) has got more value than bitcoin will ever have. Just because anyone is willing to pay x amount does not give it value.
Altcoins will never hold any meaningful value. Litecoin holds a little value because it came second, and because it's scrypt. Bitcoin defines everything in the market today, not the other way around. When people trade altcoins, they look on btc/alt ratio, not on any other ratio. That being said - I still mine ltc while heating my apartment. There are many scenarios in which an altcoin could become more valuable than Bitcoin, however none are very likely in the short term. In longer time scales, the 6 month to 2 year head start Bitcoin has over the alts will not necessarily amount to much. Once a merchant starts accepting Bitcoin, there is very little barrier to accepting other alts as well. It'll be interesting to see how this whole crypto thing plays out over the next 5-20 years. |

Alright, I believe you. Its just torture to see all the per-block balance, have you thought about lowering the fee you take on the first BTC block? It's been so long I've been thinking about just mining BTC on a different pool, I'm not trying to make a threat I'm just saying I feel that way with my little rig so I'm sure the guys with the big rigs are feeling that way too and I have to believe its in the best interest of the pool to keep them around.
Trust me, it's much worse for me than it is for you. But remember, the pool doesn't find the blocks, the miners do. |

The website is currently having some issues due to what appears to be an issue with the VPS provider.
Most pools are not affected.

How will you handle the long confirmation for PPC (512)? Will you let them run for the full number or accept them at a lower number before they are available? On D7 Pool, it can take a couple of days to get fully confirmed even though they are running 2 - 3 Thps!
We have no PPC reserves, so I have no choice but to wait for the full 512 confirmations before paying out PPC blocks. Once we build up some reserves, like with NVC, I will slowly lower the required confirmations. |
