641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think if you have a lot of money its hard to satisfy your ego in gambling on: November 01, 2023, 03:45:50 PM
We have threads here about people betting millions of dollars on sports battings and other games in casinos and the amount of money is insane, they can bet millions of dollars on one team and they easily forget everything and bet another millions.

I doubt if we have high rollers who will admit, that having a lot of money means you cannot satisfy your ego or that your level of enjoyment is high that you will need to bet millions of dollars just to fulfill your dopamine level.

What do you think, if I have millions I will be satisfied betting thousands of dollars for fear of addiction that will lead to losing my fortune, but I really don't know if I will reach that level of having millions and still be moderate in gambling.

I think it would be the same case with millionaires. We have less money so we bet with lesser amount.
Rich would be betting with more money but even they would be having a specific budget for gambling.
If they start using all their money and keep losing then even they will freak out and go crazy.
As said, rich or middle class, they can only gamble happily until they are gambling within their limits.
642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Health Benefits of Gambling on: November 01, 2023, 03:32:42 PM
Gambling is not bad after all but addiction is, gambling has been receiving a lot of negative reactions and feedback but gambling also has a lot of health benefits associated with it but you can only get these benefits if you are a responsible gambler and you have total control of what you wage and limit your bankroll

These are some of the benefits to see more of its benefits you can read the whole article here

Can you add more besides what's written in this article?
snip

All the positive impacts mentioned in the article turns to be negative if gambling is done outside our limits.
Everyone has an amount in mind which they can afford to lose and these positive impacts becomes negative when they start losing more than this amount.
It's good that OP has already mentioned that gambling should be done within limits.
Other than the benefits mentioned in the screenshot I think gambling also helps us in making new friends.

Lost the bet on ETH price prediction  Embarrassed The range I bet on was $1500 - $1750 but the price on 30th was around $1800.
We could have won if the price was just $50 less but alas. Anyway, we'll try our luck next time and hope the price keeps rising up.
644  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The most risky adventure you must avoid on: October 29, 2023, 04:11:13 AM
It's a known fact to everyone that risk is directly proportional to profits. The more risk we take the more profits we get.
But the wise one knows which risk is worth to take it and I guess that's where many fail.
We should know whether the risk we take will be fruitful to us and things won't go very bad if we fail.
I guess that's what OP means when he says "calculated risks".
645  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Delisted/Inactive Coins from Exchange on: October 29, 2023, 04:06:49 AM
As you can see there are tokens or a number of pairs from exchanges that have already been delisted or become inactive.

I'm really curious if there will be an effect of it in our current trading journey or in the market.
It's kinda showing that the more we are in a bear market year, the more pairs are being delisted.
What are your thoughts?

There's no rocket science in here. It's a simple fact that no coin will survive forever. As time passes, more coins will cease to exist.
Thus, more coins will become inactive and get delisted over time. It also depends on the number of coins created to number of coins inactive ratio.
The above graph will keep increasing if the number of coins getting created becomes less over time and vice versa.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CZ's view on Halving on: October 29, 2023, 03:52:25 AM
CZ is just saying what has happened in the past and also clearing the fact that it does not predict the future.
That's known to every bitcoin enthusiast. Key takeout from this is that we must buy bitcoin now while it's cheap.
HODL till it goes to the next ATH and that's how we are gonna make money. HODL is the important factor here.
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Instagram Banned Bitcoin on: October 29, 2023, 03:48:10 AM
This is shocking news for the Bitcoin banned by Instagram. From its platform, the conversation about Bitcoin and Bitcoin was hidden by Instagram. Until now, Instagram has not given an official statement about this, but there are several users who have started to be affected. Why do you think it is? Is it because Libra and Diem that the project failed or was it ordered by SC or the revenge of the Winklevos brothers who are rich from Bitcoin. Instagram is clearly a platform that does not support freedom of speech and only displays content according to the algorithm they want. What do you think guys ?

Is it so ? Who are those users who have been affected and how ?
Instagram banning bitcoin is good according to me because there have been several scams going on in Instagram.
So it's good that they suspended those accounts because they were promoting scams anyway.
Besides that, bitcoin doesn't need the support of any social media platform because it has it's way to reach the audience anyway.
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whether Bitcoin ETFs are approved or not, we expect bullish trend on: October 28, 2023, 02:00:30 PM
Whether or not Bitcoin ETF gets approved, bitcoin is going to go bullish sooner or later.
It may be that bitcoin price will get corrected and get dumped a little because of the negative news in the market.
But the price will get recovered later and we will go bullish, no doubt about that.
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New way to keep your seed phrase secure. on: October 28, 2023, 01:01:42 PM
Google is not going to track me for my 0.002BTC. and it's not simple, a seed have 12 words I will translate 4 words in 3 different languages in different papers and keep them in different locations. Maybe 2 papers is good choice.

The link above is not about translating the seed phrase but it is about if you want your seed phrase to be in other languages according to BIP39.

I will advice you not to translate anything. The reason is because the word you are translating have synonyms and very possible there could be a mistake in the future in a way you may not be able to translate the language back to the original 12 to 24 words.

And that is true, translator works online which is another reason it should not be used.

If we go by your method then it is even more better if we just encrypt the words using other algorithm and then keep those encrypted words at different places.
Encrypting the seed phrase is another good advice.

That's a very good point about the synonyms. A single word can have multiple synonyms and just imagine how awfully wrong we can be with 12 - 24 words.
So I guess it's way better to encrypt it after all. We just have to decide an encryption method and then store the encrypted seed on a secure location having multiple backups.
Just the owner would know which encryption method he had used.
650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think gambling is inbuilt, kids don't learn it anywhere, they do it! on: October 28, 2023, 12:55:38 PM
Makes sense. I must ask what was the trigger that got you started with gambling just a minor age of 15 ?
I personally think that if gambling is done within limits then it's actually good because it can make us happy if we gamble for fun.
But the problem arises when we cross our limits and it happens so easily with gambling that we tend to lose our control quickly.

During the years I mentioned, we were following many football matches with my high school friends and chatting about the teams by making predictions among ourselves. Later, we saw that a betting office was opened very close to our school and although we didn't meet the age criteria we wanted to try our luck in betting. We started betting easily because the staff of this business didn't request any identification information and ignored the minimum age rule set by the government for gambling. At the very beginning of the process, we were having fun among ourselves with very small amount of bets and winning a good amount of money based on making really successful predictions. Of course, over time this process turned into a gambling addiction and I became addicted to gambling when I was only 15 years old. Even though I only had pocket money during the periods I mentioned, I generally used all my money to bet but I definitely didn't bet with borrowed money.

This process continued for approximately 1.5 years and then with the ambition to give up this addiction I got rid of my gambling addiction in a very short time. This was a great success and a very important experience for me. Nowadays, gambling has become just an expensive fun method for me and I gamble only for fun within my budget in a disciplined manner.

Since you said you became addicted to gambling and used your entire pocket money for betting if you would have continued betting then you would have done the same as an adult.
It's good that you were able to give up the gambling addiction because it would have ruined your life otherwise.
This shows how easy it is to get started with gambling and get addicted to it while how difficult it is to leave this habit.
651  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Exchanges allowing fixed monthly investment in BItcoin on: October 27, 2023, 04:29:43 PM
What are some good exchanges allowing fixed monthly investment in BItcoin? I need options where my funds will be secure.

Bitcoin is not meant to be stored on 3rd party wallets to earn passive income on it.
Hold bitcoin directly in your wallet. If you want to earn passive income through fixed deposit then straight up put it in a bank.
At least your capital will be in safer hands. Always remember that saving capital is the most important thing.
652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New way to keep your seed phrase secure. on: October 27, 2023, 04:26:00 PM
Idea:
Hello, I am sharing a new idea for keeping your crypto seed phrase safe. You can make your seed phrase more secure by translating it into different languages. For more security use a translator and translate in two or three languages and split them to different papers for more security.

So this basically mean you will enter your seed phrase into the translator which will definitely make it go online, so it is bad idea to begin with.

Google is not going to track me for my 0.002BTC. and it's not simple, a seed have 12 words I will translate 4 words in 3 different languages in different papers and keep them in different locations. Maybe 3 papers is good choice.

Google tracks everything. Besides that you will have to remember where those papers are and in which order those papers should be in order to recover the correct seed phrase.
If we go by your method then it is even more better if we just encrypt the words using other algorithm and then keep those encrypted words at different places.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Used Our Wedding Savings to Play Bet on: October 27, 2023, 04:10:49 PM

Can't say if he's addicted or not but the truth is he is a gambler. There's nothing bad being a gambler but he wasn't a responsible gambler.
He should have known his limits and his responsibility. What I am curious about is that why would they spend 5 million on a wedding ?
I wonder which currency they are talking about. If it's USD then it's a pretty huge amount for a wedding.

Such amount of money for a wedding is also another point to this story.  $5,000 in a wedding is huge no matter the country's currency.

m thinking if you are planning to spend $5,000 for a wedding then the would be husband should have more than that since he is claiming to support the girlfriend with the money he will win so that the burden will not be on her.

Another point to this is that if you are saving up for a wedding, you don't need such amount of money to be saved up before you do your wedding. If you are saving up it means you don't have and people who don't have don't need such elaborate wedding, I mean the story is twisted and for the guy to use the $5,000 saved for wedding to gamble is really not giving the real light to what it is.

Again maybe this is another social media frick who is looking for followership. Like if you are saving $5,000 for wedding that is too much to be saved for wedding, like people who plan $5,000 wedding ceremony are wealthy and they don't have to save for it because the money is always there and what they would need is to fix their date  Grin

Actually, I had edited my post because I misunderstood the number earlier. I guess $5000 is a nominal amount for a wedding.
In my country, we can only do a basic wedding with $5000. We normally have around 300 guests at the wedding and food for them itself costs around $2000.
Besides that, I consider it good that they were saving money for their wedding instead of taking a loan. I am strictly against taking a loan for wedding.
There are many people in my country who take a loan and do a grand wedding and then keep paying up for the loan taken for months/years.
At least this couple wasn't going to that debt trap but eventually lost money. Fate.
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK passes bill to enable authorities to seize Bitcoin used for crime on: October 26, 2023, 04:04:58 PM
Well in that case they should make everything transparent as in where they will be using these seized bitcoins.
They should only use it for their citizens and keep everything transparent and for the public to verify.
We never know who uses it for their personal gains.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dangerous chasing losses on: October 26, 2023, 04:00:41 PM
I’m not a regular gambler nor an addicted gambler but I recently experienced a terrible chasing loss that start with small amount. I’m on a day off on my job right now due to my minor flu. My feeling got better while I don’t have things to do on my work dormitory so I decided to just gamble for fun only.

My game start by just betting minimum bet on a blackjack table with my initial deposit of 85$ which is my signature campaign earning last week. I lose my initial bank roll with just few bets on consistent losses. I decided to deposit again but this time with higher bankroll which is 250$. I bet twice the minimum bet this time since my bankroll is higher, the result is much terrible loss.

Lastly, I deposit 1800$ to have a better bankroll again, This time I’m betting like a high roller and lucky manage to recover my losses and bag 150$ profit.

Conclusion: I will never gamble again when I’m bored or chase loss small amount. With this exhilarating experience. I think I will stop gambling for a long time and reflec on what dumb thing I do today.

SS of my game history:

Oh boy! you must be really lucky to have won chasing losses because usually people don't win from chasing losses.
Just when you said you deposited $1800 I thought you would lose it all and are here to weep about your losses.
But it's good that you cashed out while you were in profits and you learn your lesson from it too.
656  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Used Our Wedding Savings to Play Bet on: October 26, 2023, 02:46:49 PM
I want to only talk about the comic part although for many people there is nothing comic in here, yet the lady didn't she knew that her fiance was a gambler and out of a gambler what can you expect when the hardest form of addiction hits you,you will find any remote possibility to get money to bet and to feed your burning desire to gamble.

The fact that he wanted to double his money is a clear indication that this guy is definitely addicted as only addicted people do not think much about consequences as they are only focused on doubling their money whatever the amount they bet for them is irrelevant.

Can't say if he's addicted or not but the truth is he is a gambler. There's nothing bad being a gambler but he wasn't a responsible gambler.
He should have known his limits and his responsibility. If he had been just a little responsible with the amount then he wouldn't have lost the amount and his fiancee.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you keep a record of winnings and losses in gambling? on: October 26, 2023, 02:42:43 PM
Do you keep a record of winnings and losses in gambling? Many here will feel that this is waste of time and will also not let them enjoy the game peacefully. Do you also have same mentality?

I personally don't keep a record of wins and losses and I feel there's no point.
We eventually end up losing more than we win and seeing how much we have lost will only make our mood spoiled.
So we can either decide to not keep a track record and enjoy our games or keep a track record and spoil our mood by seeing the losses.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fake casino streamers! Why such streamers are very popular? on: October 25, 2023, 03:41:09 PM
I came across a very interesting article about fake streamers https://www.ltccasino.com/fake-streamers-exposed

Some facts and arguments struck me as very curious. I had never really thought about why nowadays the Twitch and Kick platforms have become so full of people streaming online casinos there.

Having little experience playing at online casinos, I can't be sure that everything written in this article is true. What do you think about it?

It's very interesting to hear the opinion of experienced players and people who are versed in this subject.

Isn't it obvious ? It's because of their popularity. Streamers get a lot of views for their streams and viewers get influenced by them and start betting on the casino sites.
Although we can't say that all such streamers use fake accounts but many of them do and get paid for influencing others.
It's best to bet within our limits and on the sites that we trust. We should keep trying casino sites with very small deposits and stick to 1 or 2.
As a business owner then it would really be just that normal that you would really be putting up focus into those known or popular influencers or streamers when it comes to marketing as much as possible knowing that exposure would really be that more wide if the said  streamer would really be that having that tons of followers on which it would really be just that so normal that they would really be that choosing those.
Speaking about  fake then i dont think that there would really be that becoming that big or popular because once that a certain streamer does have that kind of issue on something being that manipulative
then issues could really be thrown out and would really be affecting his popularity and reputation then which means that he cant really go into the peak in speaking about being that reputable.

This is why we us viewers then it would really be just that normal that you would really be that careful on whose streamer you would really be watching into.
Its impossible though that you wont really be noticing something if there's odd something happening.

Yes ofcourse, it all depends on the viewers whether they get attracted to the influencers or not.
I mean, a person can blindly follow an influencer while the other can do his due diligence and refer the influencer take the best out of his session.
But not everyone are like minded and most people fall for the high profits that those influencers get.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I think gambling is inbuilt, kids don't learn it anywhere, they do it! on: October 25, 2023, 03:38:49 PM
As someone who started gambling at the age of 15, I don't believe that restricting gambling advertisements is successful in keeping young individuals and kids away from gambling. The reason for this is that, unfortunately, gambling can enter our lives for various reasons not just because of an advertisement we saw. For example, the circle of friends is a very important factor in acquiring the gambling habit and this was the biggest factor in my turning to sports betting at a young age (almost kid). On the other hand, physical betting offices and physical casinos especially within the country can cause many young individuals to show interest in gambling. Especially, with the abuse of legal age restrictions by the staff of such businesses many people can easily access gambling and acquire the gambling habit. For this reason, I definitely don't think that restricting or blocking gambling ads is the only solution. Nowadays, when it is possible to acquire gambling habits due to many different reasons, restricting or completely banning gambling advertisements can only lead to a very small percentage of young people and kids turning to gambling. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to find a complete solution to this situation.

660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your doubt has no effect on gambling. on: October 25, 2023, 03:34:43 PM

Yesterday, I booked a bet, but, fine if difficult to stake, because I thought the game was going to be lost. But here it is I won the best. I stake the bet at $0.13, and I won $49 in total. I have gotten several winnings in the past week, but I would like to say that I didn't expect the game to play accordingly the way I predicted it. Why? Because I haven't bet on the same predictions throughout all the games before, but yesterday I did it. That's why I said I didn't expect to win the game.

A friend of mine always says, game way go cut, go cut and game way go enter, go enter, and yes that's true, this game was supposed to, play accordingly, and it finally did, even with my doubts.

However, I will say that even your doubt can not make a game that you are supposed to win lose, because gambling doesn't work with mindset, it works with the risk and not your fear. Why the risk is because if you don't risk your money in gamble, you will not lose or even win.

It's a part of gambling. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. You shouldn't be surprised that you won the bet.
I know it's good to assume that you have lost the money you deposit for gambling and then the happiness doubles when you win.
So keep going on and I hope you win more.
