I would be willing to rent 500 to 1000 mhash, toss me a fair offer, pay weekly upfront, and I mine to your pool account.

668  Economy / Economics / Re: BTC vs. USD on: June 11, 2011, 06:58:22 PM
I am starting this topic to hopefully get some more insights as to what others are thinking about the actual BTC economy. By actual, I mean the exchange of goods and services for BTC, rather than speculative trading.

It's clear that speculation is still the driving force behind the exchange rate fluctuation, with over 130k BTC changing hands today on Mt. Gox (only ~10k BTC mined per day). So assuming all of the BTC mined on any given day are thrown into the market, they were traded 13 times each!

This is some heavy heavy speculation... but we know not all the BTC mined are traded right away. As a first estimate, I'm going to say 50-75% of BTC mined per day are either hoarded or used in some way on the web.

Let me know what you think  ... and share the info!

Used on the web, basically means sold on MTgox, any retailer is just trading them in for currencies they can pay bills with.
669  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Is mining still profitable? on: June 10, 2011, 08:09:13 PM
That's a horrible investment for mining, you could get at least 2.5 times as many MHASH for the same cost...at least in the US Idk about euro zone, for us we can get about 1000mhash/900USD.

673  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What happens after BitCoin? on: June 10, 2011, 02:28:29 PM
Maybe the big mining pools could develop some ideas for actual distributed computing using their miners, deepbit alone would be the fastest supercomputer in the world

@people asking for an android app, there is already a pretty good free one called Miner's Widget, it just uses the api code to give reward, mhash, and workers active

677  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: What's taking so long for my payment? on: June 09, 2011, 01:53:42 PM
MTGOX is a little flooded, you can send them an email with your username and trade info and they will look into it. Support@mtgox.com
678  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is MtGox paying? on: June 09, 2011, 01:33:09 PM
They are having delays due to the increase in traffic. It will take a little while for them to hire enough staff to handle the demand.
