There's no scientific proof that God exists because its not the job of scientists to prove that God exists. There are no multi-billion dollar labs searching for proof of the existence of God in the heavens (well, none that I know of).

Please note here that there's also no scientific proof of Love (not infatuation) either.

They leave that to artists, poets, and movie makers.

How many times has "is this thread still going???" been posted?
663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your new opinion on: November 28, 2014, 12:59:07 AM

yea i mined a couple million of doge wen it was released ( first day in a couple of hours lol ) as a joke ( cus why not every one was making fun of it ) then dumped it wen it hit 200 on craptsy XD and never looked back

its a joke it was fun ( to many coins ) but still profit is profit Smiley

You see that is what pisses me off !

I was in on it early too.. posting on the ANN topic you guy supporting it should be ashamed of yourselves for making it so popular

rather.. than..

Mining the fucking shit coin and SUPPORTING IT !

Why the fuck would i mine some fucking gay piece off shit joke clone coin on launch ?

greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeedddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd ddddddddddddddddd

and congrats you got your pay check and now it dried up.. you guys helped destroy the Altcoin scene with your shitty scam coin faggotry.
You guys all fucked all this up with your own personal excuses (Self-Justification)
It's blatantly obvious and i kept screaming it loud and clear every step of the way but there was no stopping you guys..
i was powerless to watch you all ruin everything and cause every single coin (even BTC) to tank into worthless oblivion.. simply out of selfish greed.. AND excuses.

and yeaaaaaaaaaaah
making money off of scam coins is.. "FUN"
but being the loser newby duped into buying the shitty worthless dead scam coin is NOT !
So while you guys laughed your ass off with a big fucking grin each dollar of your profit was being siphoned from some poor sucker Crypto-Noob's pocket
in a series of never ending digital clone coin ponzi-schemes.

NO concern for the people you fucked over and no recognition for what SUPPORT means.
I have said a millions of times jumping in and starting a pool asap or exchanges fumbling over themslevs to add them or mining a coin on launch
-IS-
in fact SUPPORTING a shit coin !
excuses have nothing to do with it.

you all made your bed and now your going to sleep in it and i will say, "i told you so" once again.
in the future try using your brains.

if cloning becomes wildly profitable again we will see the exact same shit repeat all over again with the same people making the same dumb ass fucktard excuses all over again.
all the guys crying they hate scam coins around here NOW are 90% full of shit and are just saying it because profitability dropped and
they wanna blend back into the crowd and accept no responsibility for fucking this scene up bad !
..just like i said they all would.. i said loooooong ago these guy will not accept any responsibility for fuck all !
Not one one guy in crypto is going to stand up and say, HEY it's my fault.

I hope you guys are proud of yourselves for running around TONS of non-crypto web sites leaving comments everywhere
saying Doge was going to over take Bitcoin very soon and how it was superior to Bitcoin in every way and everyone should much buy in for very profits etc.
Not so proud i think because you all quietly slithered away into hiding.. prob as most of you dumped hard all over your noob victim idiots you lured into your such-Ponzi
..for FUN of course  Roll Eyes
I don't get the point of your ranting. You're talking as though dogecoin and cryptocurrencies as a whole are dead. They're both very much alive and will live on and prosper without your approval. Please get over it.

I'll come back in a year and repost this statement again for you. I've got a feeling you'll still be saying the same things in a years time.
664  Economy / Economics / Re: Tracking total Market Cap of all Cryptocurrencies on: November 27, 2014, 02:33:01 PM
90% or even more marketcap of all crypto coins is Bitcoin. So whatever price Bitcoin will have that high will be  total market cap of all cryptocoins.
You should check the one on October 2013 and see the difference towards January 2014.
Very true. Maybe marketcaps just for clones, i.e. everything but BTC, and then match it against BTC marketcap for calculating the index.
665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE ALT CURRENCIES BUBBLE IS BURSTING... on: November 26, 2014, 03:13:22 AM
coins that still have pump and dump value will not die. They have their usecase.
I agree. Mooncoin is an example.
666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE ALT CURRENCIES BUBBLE IS BURSTING... on: November 24, 2014, 07:44:17 PM
I stand firmly on the other side of the fence. I believe that scamcoins will eventually die and a few front-runners will emerge. This is what I think bagholders are counting on. They're backing their horses right now. We'll know the winners and losers by about 2017 onwards.

I take an extremely long-term view of crypotocurrencies. One year is NOTHING in technology terms. All that's happened in 2014 is people rushed into cryptos after a week of Litecoin madness in November 2013 and this drove the market into a feeding frenzy that lasted into early 2014. Cryptos started getting pumped out for those who missed out on the profits of Litecoin madness. Dogecoin was one of those coins. It was not the cause of the current flurry of ALTs. It started after a mad mad week in November last year following an edition of The Keiser Report (they started talking about BTC being gold and LTC being silver). So (spoetnik), blame Litecoin madness, not Dogecoin.

Here's to hoping that by the end of 2014 all the get rich quick brigade lose interest because of the current slump and things settle down. Then let the technology and services mature over the next few years, and the rubbish will get left by the side of the road. Once the ecosystem is consumer grade it'll start making inroads.

IMHO, the biggest hindrance right now is wallets and syncing. Until online wallets are proven secure, and accepted by users as such, QT wallets have to be used. QT wallets are definitely not consumer grade! Imagine grandma trying to recover her lost DOGE with only a wallet.dat file (and she probably wouldn't have even backed that up in the first place!!).

There's definitely a long way to go yet. A long way.
Cheesy

668  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Doge coin is bad on: November 22, 2014, 04:00:29 PM
Man, this thread is huge! When I look at Dogecoin I wonder why when the market could attain its own inflation rate, why would you create additional inflation? What people charge for something changes over time separate from artificial inflation... Yes, I know that governments print money when they feel like it, but in the USA what has typically affected value of items is not money supply, it is historical value of the item you are buying plus the underlying values of the resources used to make that item.

Simplistic? Sure, but I just don't like the way that Doge is set up, flooding the world with coin.
I don't think there's enough coins for global consumer use. Remember, there's billions of people on this planet. I think bitcoin subdivisions needs to be more consumer friendly. Owning 1 bitcoin should not be the rare achievement that it is now (but that ship has sailed and ain't coming back).

Who wants to earn a millibitcoin per hour?? "Oh, how kind of you sir, a millibitcoin for my work. One day I might own a whole bitcoin!". Doesn't seem very consumer friendly to me.

Just saying.

We need an almighty massive coin (bigger than DOGE) that can flood the planet before bagholders grab it.

Wishful thinking, eh?
669  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Doge coin is bad on: November 22, 2014, 02:59:53 PM

Simple as that. It drew in via bottom rung of the internet crowd all the kids who wanted to be millionaires.

Hmmm... Ask anybody who that statement applies to and I'll bet that bitcoiners tops the poll. Wannabe Zuckerbergs without the talent/acumen looking for a quick passage to millions.

I'll stick to the 'actual' facts if it's alright with you. Large community and top ten placing. That works. Once that changes, I'll re-evaluate my position.
670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your new opinion on: November 22, 2014, 02:17:50 PM
A picture says a thousand words lol

Very good! Looks convincing until you show us the same graph for BTC or any other crypto please....

And not just for March 2014. Show us any coin graph Jan 2014 - Nov 2014. Side by side. For comparison purposes only, of course.

GO FOR IT!

No need to get so personal guys!

Quote
Hey guys.. i said it before and and look at the graph i predicted it right on the money so..
I told you so Smiley

I said before that mining profitability had reached parity with numerous other coins and now the main advantage / benefit of Doge coin is GONE !
..and that all the so called supporters in the community will dry up and vanish and dissolve into nothing. so far that is exactly what has happened !

I agree with the earlier part of your post Spoetnik, but I'm afraid DOGE ain't dead, and I disagree with you that DOGE is bad. People new to cryptos will more likely accept DOGE than BTC. I'm not a DOGE bagholder, and I have minimum BTC, but I can plainly see the facts. It's still in the top ten and has a massive online community outside of bitcointalk (in fact, there's NO community on this site). That can't be denied or brushed aside.
672  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Total Coins - Nov 15th 2014 on: November 21, 2014, 12:06:43 PM
Thing a lot of people fail to realize, is that more [clone] coins further promotes the negative public opinion of Crypto as a "Ponzi Scheme". It keeps new investors from dipping their toes in by some of the actions many people are taking.
Are you in a position to provide some actual evidence for this assertion?
I have a for a year endlessly where have you been ?

If you'll take a moment to actually read my post, you'll see that the question wasn't asked of you but of Videlicet.

But if you yourself have actual evidence that “more [clone] coins further promotes the negative public opinion of Crypto as a "Ponzi Scheme". It keeps new investors from dipping their toes in”, then I'd be interested in seeing it.

Otherwise, without at least minimal evidential support of a negative public opinion, the statement can never be anything other than supposition.

Cheers

Graham

It's a supposition but lots of people (me included) agree 100% with that statement. Can you provide evidence to the contrary? I think this reply is some form of evidential support?

Easy evidence

Total market cap of all coins 01/2014 = >$8bn
Total market cap of all coins 11/2014 = <$6bn

There's been a $2bn decline in the total investment in the market since 01/2014

Yeah!

Def deserved, I'm glad we could help out for a change to help Rofo get some recognition Cheesy

He only got to the voting round, didn't get the award yet Wink

I know, we don't have a big enough community for that I don't think. Celebrate the small wins and all Smiley
I agree. It's the acknowledgement of a true crypto professional. It also gives a nod to some of the coins that appear to have a long term future.
674  Economy / Economics / Tracking total Market Cap of all Cryptocurrencies on: November 19, 2014, 01:56:35 PM
In Jan 2014 http://coinmarketcap.com showed total market cap of all cryptocurrencies as >$8bn. It's now <$6bn. The site shows the total as a snapshot at the top of the page.

Is there a website out there that tracks and graphs this change over time, maybe for the top 50 or 100? I think it might be useful for creating a form of Cryptocurrency price index like the dow or ftse (if it's not already been done).

Person A: If we don't do something to change the way that bird is flying, it will die.
Person B: People have suggested this before, do you have any evidence that it will die? What exactly do you propose?
Person A: What is wrong with you? That bird is flying wrong. It's clearly going to die.
Person B: I'm confused, how it is flying wrong? What should we do to correct it?
Person A: Just stop posting. Clearly you are an evangelist for birds flying the wrong way.
Person B: You aren't providing us with any useful information here.
Person A: We are discussing how that bird is flying the wrong way and how it's going to die! Clearly you advocate birds flying the wrong way!
Person B: Is everyone crazy?
Person C: We are only having a discussion here.
Person B: Yeah, but no one is actually discussing any of the points that have been made countless times in the past.
Person C: So, you don't think we should be allowed to discuss this?
Person B: Well... you aren't saying anything...
Person C: Obviously you think we shouldn't be discussing this.
Person B: I thought that's what I was doing when I was pointing out the fact that you aren't saying anything that hasn't been said a thousand times before.
Person C: Everything is different now! These birds flying the wrong way are going to die!
Person B: What should we do?
Person C: Discuss it more!
