Bitmain, my S2's are hungry and tired...... please release some more info.

@philipma1957 If you didn't know, your new Rasp Pi 2 takes a Micro SD card and not the larger one that your old Pi uses. Just FYI, but I'm sure you know this. Is the Avalon 4.1 quieter than the S1's were?
They have S5 now at $369 for March 30 release.

Gridseed dual mining orbs were a needed and welcome advancement in crypto mining. Looking forward to your next offering.

They should all be backwards compatible. I have 2 rasp 2's and they are so much quicker.
so you are running your avalon 4.1 's on the newest model 2? I will order one from amazon today I am also going to get a third avalon 4.1 No. Wish I would have bought a couple this winter now I know how quiet they are. Sure wish the price was more in the $400 range. Have fun with the new Pi.

I was going to buy a third one as well but was waiting on price. I was thinking it won't be more than the S5 currently. Cuz that wouldn't make sense.

Haven't taken the heatsinks off before but a few screws and done. The paste is another matter. Messy and sticky but do remove and clean all the old paste before applying the new. Use the highest % of Isopropyl Alcohol you can find, usually at most RiteAids or Walgreens or any drug store. The old boards put on Ebay for others needing working boards. They've been selling around $30 a piece currently but that's with the heatsink. Easily a couple hour job depending on how many pcb boards are in a kit.

Wow, that explains it. Thought I was going mad. Tried everything on my side. Thanks for the info saved me hours of headaches.

From what I can speculate from the lack of definates is 6 pcb's with 18 chips per board (same chips as S5) running underclocked to achieve >.4 wgh. Come on Bitmain R&D we want to help test these. So at these presumed specs are we closer to 3 th for the kit?
Dogie mentioned three pcb's for the kit, will it be possible to squeeze four into chassis with a larger psu? The cooling is more than sufficient.

Uh ya duh! It's like Starbuck's asking you to bring your own cup and foam is extra. They make plenty even when the prices are low/competetive. We are not here to support their own farms. They need to remember who it is that makes them suceed and why. The why is that they didn't inflate prices for awhile and that was mainly due to stiff competition. No direct competition and we get F'd. Anyways, can I get a test rig?

Seems as though we probably will pay an arm and a leg for this upgrade due to Bitmains' latest price hikes. Here's my response for info. Bitmain (Bitmain) Mar 10, 05:44
Hi, Sorry, we haven't got details either, pay attention to BITMAIN's official announcement later:)
Any idea when later is? That's all we are asking since it was due out after the holiday. Back to their old games.

Most companies have ditched their efforts in new tech due to the huge increase in difficulty last summer. Also altcoin trading is lack luster currently.
Possibly Spondoolies is whom they refer. That's who they currently are competing with.
Preorder, yes... but at least they ship on time.
Anything over $300 w/psu is too much for an S2. Bought 2 off ebay for less.
I think/hope they have come around to being more reasonable and competitive with their pricing. The S5 was well priced compared to the S1 & S2. Bitmain please release some info and be leniant with your pricing.
