Haven't been very active until now on the forums lately, and wow it looks like fastbets is getting a new game. Could you please explain this in detail what the game will be about and when it will be released? I have not been following the thread and don't know anything about it.
Have you guys fully recovered from the server hack yet?
Hey Funtotry, I cannot reveal all details yet, but I can tell you that the new game is a bit of a mix of a dice game and bust-a-bit (formerly money pot). I really wanted to get it out this week, but something has diverted my attention so that that seems quite unlikely now. will be out next week though for sure. As for the hack, we are now finally fully recovered. I have rebuilt a large part of the backend after the hack and that has lead to some crashes. These problems are out of the way now too and I am finally back to building new games and will be able to add new features and run competitions soon. If someone has a request for something to add to FastBets, just let me know :-) Ooh that sounds very interesting. I can tell you right now that if you make new innovative games, you WILL get lots of gamblers. I don't want to see the same old games, I want to see something new and exciting. That is actually how I found your site, bonusdice is what I was looking for. Thanks mate, that's exactly why I founded FastBets. I've at some point looked at the age of the most popular casino games. Poker, Roulette, Blackjack, ... are all over 100 years old. There are many reasons for this, however one reason is that casino operators just don't take risks with new games. I find that crazy, especially since their customers take risks all the time... In over 100 years, the only real innovation in gambling have come from bitcoin casinos in my opinion: Dice games have rightfully beed a huge hit (they are the purest form of gambling in my mind) and money pot and to a lesser extent (the bitcoin version of) Mine-Sweeper are two great games as well. So my idea has been to open a bitcoin casino and try to find a nice new game by launching a few experiments. So far my games have been quite well received but I did not manage to get a hit yet. Will keep trying :-) |

Hey Edmund, Really sorry for the late reply. For some reasons I do not get email notifications from the forum atm (I'm assuming due to the recent hack). Really happy to hear you like the game, Edmund :-) It is now almost ready (I know that I always say that). There is always a lot of small stuff todo before I can finally get a game out. Mostly I have to get the provably fair system to work, finalize sound, polish animations ... 90% confident I can launch this week (I should really stop putting these predictions out there :-) |

Just a quick update on how the new game is going: it's going good :-). A few trusted users have tested it this afternoon and they have not found any serious issues. They have given a lot of super valuable feedback which I will be implementing (thanks again guys). The new game will launch once this is done. Also wanted to share the screenshot above. The first person to guess how the game works will get 50000 satoshi :-)[my friends from the alpha team that have tested this afternoon are excluded obviously] Very excited! I'm very happy to report that we are finally done fixing these stability issues. There has not been a bug in the logs for 48h and the site has been stable as a rock. I can now turn extensive logging off again, and thereby get FastBets back to full speed. Other than that I have started working on a new game yesterday. If all goes well (which basically never happens) I should be able to launch it in a few days :-) I really have a good feeling about this one. It's basically a mix between a dice game and bust-a-bit (formerly known as moneypot). |

I'd be really interested to know this as well. Looking at the odds for a game, is is possible to know what the house edge (the average loss per bet) would be? Does anyone know?

This article is quite good as it gives out few example of house edge depending of the odds of it but it doesnt state any formula to calculate it though (Still trying to find a live calculator to calculate the house edge depending on the odds ) P.S : the article is abit long to quote so those who wanted to read could head up there Thanks arallmuus, that looks like a good source. Having thought about it for a bit I think it must be a different concept than in a dice game. Computing the house edge of a dice game is simple: house_edge = probability_to_lose * loss_size + probability_to_win * win_size (for example in a standard 2x dice game where you bet 1btc: house_edge = 0.505*1 - 0.495*1 = 0.01 = 1%) The problem in the sports betting context is that nobody knows what probability_to_win and probability_to_lose are. Just a quick update: have mostly been fixing small bugs over the past few days. Has been bit boring to be honest, but it's necessary. There is still one small bug in the logs that I have not yet been able to fix yet. Will hopefully have time to fix that tomorrow. When done I will turn off logging to give the site an extra speed boost :-) Once maintenance work is over I can finally get back to building new games and running competitions. If you always restart and fix it, I think next time it will pop up another problem again and again. Why dont get a new server and start eveything that make it clear all the way? I guess that will be good for both of us. If there are many problems with the site I think many people will run away one by one
Thanks for the input. I'm not sure that moving to another server will really help. My plan is to monitor the logs closely and fix errors that I see. Have not had to fix anything in the past 24h but will keep logging turned on for a bit to be sure (unfortunately logging does slow down the server a bit). If I don't find any more problems until tomorrow, I'll turn off the logging and we will be back at full speed... |

Unfortunately there are still some errors that happen only when many users are on the site. I am logging extensively and am fixing errors as they come along. With time I'll be able to completely debug all that new code and finally get back to more fun stuff like competitions and new games. Will keep you posted.

thanks Henry for nice update about the current stability issue on fastbets and i appreciate your hard work to make it stable and it sounds great about upcoming competitions and new interesting games, so take your time and fix that issues on permanent basis. Thanks mate :-) Usually when the site crashes what I do is restart the server to get the site back online. I then start to analyze the logs to see if I can fix that error. I know that these errors are super annoying for my users but at least you can rest assured that if you hit an erro you've just given me some data so that that particular error will not be there again. (by the way if the site stays down just email me at henry@fastslots.co and I'll get it up again). |
