661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An agent is no where to be found. on: October 15, 2023, 07:25:47 AM
Today I witness something very strange in the area where I live recently. There was a gambling shop that was not too far from where I am staying, so every day different gamblers visit the shop to bet on games, some win and some don't win a dime.

So, yesterday afternoon, a man bet on a midnight game and the game played accordingly as predicted, but the surprising thing was that the betting agent ran away with the money the man won, and the betting agent is no where to be found.

However, I am here to say these are the reasons why it is not always good to gamble in a betting agent's shop, because if the manager of the shop does not run with the money a gambler wins, then one of the workers in the betting shop might run away with the money someone wins, so I do conclude that an online gambling site with good reputation is the best for gambler, so what do you guys have to say about this?.

If anyone is dealing with a betting agent, one should make sure that he is an authentic and trusted betting agent. These days, anyone can claim himself a betting agent, get money from you and then run away with your money. A professional betting agent will never do such things as he makes a lot of income being a trusted agent.

Even I know there are betting agents who are so trusted, that they never meet you, and you just tell them your bet and deposit money in their accounts and all this correspondence is done through mobile or WhatsApp. It is always better to investigate the repute of the betting agent before transferring your money to him.
662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you not gamble on women sports? (tennis not included) on: October 14, 2023, 07:34:58 PM
I do not know if this has been discussed before, but I want to know why most discussions on sports asides tennis is about the men's side of it and the women side is about only barely mentioned. Take football for example. Why is there low engagement in women sports from the side of viewers and even gamblers who are sports bettors? Is it not easier to win on gambling on women sports than men's sport? or is there no gambling site offering odds for betting on women sports?

It is true that currently women's involvement in the world of sports is very large, but because of the relatively large physical differences, men's sports are more exciting and of higher quality compared to women's. So men's sports are very interesting to watch because after all sports really rely on physicality as a determinant. Apart from that, if seen from the fans' point of view, of course men's sports are more popular and followed by many people compared to women's sports and this is the reason why most people bet on men's sports.

I do agree that women are getting into sports but still, their ratio is less as compared to men's sports.

Sometimes I feel that if you watch women's sports, you will find that it is fairly easy to bet on women's sports and make some easy money. The reason I say this is because in some sports the difference of performance between the teams is very high. For example, if you take Women's cricket, the England and Australian women's cricket teams are very strong as compared to the Asian countries' women's team.

So if you find a match between England / Australian women's cricket vs. any Asian cricket women's team, you can easily bet on the England or Australian women's cricket team and win some easy money.
663  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ICC WORLD CUP 2023 ACTUAL DISCUSSION THREAD! on: October 14, 2023, 06:16:10 PM
Another one-sided contest, fans had high expectations regarding the stats, still Pakistan failed again mainly their batting unit looks too weak now, and they need to work on it if they want to beat big teams in the upcoming matches or else there is no place for them in top 4.

Hitman played tremendously, and he kept that attitude since the first ball of that inning and goes all guns blazing against all the bowlers. Now team India is in the top 1 position because of their better NRR and it starts to look like India is going to be a team that can beat all the teams in this tournament just due to their excellent performance in both batting and bowling unit.

This is the eight times that India has defeated Pakistan in the World Cup. I never expected Pakistan to lose all their wickets in just a few overs. They once had lost only 2 wickets with 155 runs on the scoreboard. As soon as Babar Azam got out everything went haywire for Pakistan.

Indian bowling was exceptionally good again today. The bowlers were able to do what the captain wanted them to. Shiraj was hit so badly in his previous overs. Still he came back big time to claim the first Pakistani batter. Bhumrah had the best figures today, took 2 wickets and gave only 19 runs. This defeat will affect the Pakistani teams performance in the World Cup.

This was not about Pakistan losing wickets quickly in the middle order. If you analyze, the top 4 batsmen were struggling to score freely and they were just going at almost 5 runs per over and saving their wickets. They approach this match with a defensive approach and any team who plays with this approach will usually lose the match.

Talking about the Indian bowling, they really bowled well and kept the Pakistan batsmen under check and balance. I would not like to discuss about the Indian batting because any team can chase the 190 odd runs on these batting pitches and the Indian batting did it in style.
664  Other / Meta / Re: Huge site outage! on: October 14, 2023, 04:00:40 AM
how long do you think was it down? because for me I got the error after clicking on the scam accusation board and then I waited at least 30sec-1min then I refreshed the browser and then it was fine again. I thought the error was so brief and assumed no one noticed so I didn't bother mentioning it here.

I felt the same thing, maybe it was an outage of less than a minute or so, not a big deal but since these days there are so many of them, so sometimes it gets concerning as what if the bitcointalk is again down for a few hours and especially at the time we are active on the forum.

It is normal after an incident of this type that there may be some aftershocks.

This is not an earthquake where we expect to experience the aftershocks  Shocked
665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: One seed, One casino game. Superstitious or Not? on: October 14, 2023, 03:31:53 AM
I think he believes that using the same seed for a particular game will somehow increase his chances of winning or that changing the seed will negatively affect his results. This belief is generally superstitious. Casino provably fair games are designed to provide random and independent outcomes, so changing the seed should not influence the fairness of the game or the likelihood of winning. Therefore, it is merely a personal belief that may bring good luck, and perhaps it can help him stay focused.

Firstly, are casinos allowed to keep the same seed for an extended period of time? Although I never pay attention to this but i really doubt this. The casino will make sure that there is no way that you get an advantage even if it is in the form of client seed. (though having the same client seed is not an advantage).

As far as gamblers are concerned, such moves do come under Superstitious and many of us want a particular scenario where we feel comfortable, and our mind thinks that we will win more matches in particular times and particular situations. Using the same seed is also one example of Superstitious behaviour as if it were an advantage every gambler would have insisted on it.

I'm saying this because LoyceV mentioned that their scrappers were down as well.  Maybe they are related?
My scraper didn't miss a post when the forum was down yesterday. I did miss posts in the past when Cloudflare blocked it.
Of course this is related: if the forum is down, obviously I can't scrape it.

Well, i guess no one may have noticed but it happened again. I think if I hadn't taken this screenshot, no one would have believed me that bitcointalk was down for a sometime again a few minutes ago   Undecided

667  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Consolidating UTXOs in wallets. on: October 13, 2023, 07:00:42 PM
Reading this i thing that sparrow wallet have better coin control, you can avoid this easily in that wallet.

I haven't used the sparrow wallet so i do not know how does it offer coin control in a more better way as i usually use Electrum for bitcoins.

Yes, but still when an average user will send any amount of bitcoin to someone, electrum by default will create two outputs, one to send the amount that you send to the other address and the other output to send the entire balance of the wallet to the change address. So this will automatically combine all of your UTXOs to the change address.
Don't confuse the entire balance of the wallet to the balance of the addresses whose UTXOs are used in a new transaction. The change from the address/addresses used for sending a transaction will be consolidated into one new address, but the rest of the coins in the wallet remain where they are and would still need to be consolidated later if your ultimate goal is to merge them all together.

Let's say your wallet has 5 funded addresses.
Address 1
Address 2
Address 3
Address 4
Address 5

You use the coins from Addresses 1 and 2 for a transaction. Any leftover chance will go to a new change address. The coins in addresses 3, 4, and 5 remain where they are.

You are right that we can use the Addresses 1 and 2 only or whichever address we want but my point of view was that most people do not know about this feature. They may even send some bitcoin to someone, and they won't even know that their rest of the UTXOs are already combined by the Electrum through change address.
668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: October 13, 2023, 06:42:07 PM
Being open to your family, friends or someone close to you is the cheapest way to resolve gambling addiction. You are only gambling because you don’t have other things to do on your free time that why you get the entertainment you are missing on social to gambling.

Even though talking about your gambling addiction to your family may be the cheapest way to discuss and overcome the gambling addiction but it is the most difficult thing to do at the same time. You may tell any doctor, or any unknown person that you are having problems due to gambling addictions, but it will be so difficult to tell to your family, especially in cases when the parents and family members dislike gambling and they have already prohibited you from gambling.

You need to have a lot of courage to speak and tell about this habit of yours to your families. We never know what could be their reactions when they come to know about this fact.  Huh
669  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Consolidating UTXOs in wallets. on: October 12, 2023, 09:37:29 PM
Note that if you combine all of your UTXOs to one address using a single transaction, any blockchain analysis software will know that a single person owns all of the addresses.

It is probably better to leave them like that if the inputs are large enough, i.e. no 10000 sat outputs lying around, and to combine only the dust inputs (even better, send the consolidation transaction through through a mixer first)

Yes, but still when an average user will send any amount of bitcoin to someone, electrum by default will create two outputs, one to send the amount that you send to the other address and the other output to send the entire balance of the wallet to the change address. So this will automatically combine all of your UTXOs to the change address.

Not everyone know about coin control feature and not everyone is techy (or even willing to) to do all these complications.
670  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sherbet.com - $1,000 USD + 20 FS Welcome Package - 24/7 Support - Weekly Race 🤑 on: October 12, 2023, 09:11:48 PM
Reputation is not everything but most important thing for any business. With good reputation, you can prolong your business operation, make new partnership, gain new customers and even can expand your business to be bigger.

No matter, how good a casino is, if it has a bad reputation, no one will want to play at the casino. Everyone will prefer to play at an honest, trusted and reputed casino. Also, to maintain the repute is a challenge as one wrong decision can damage the repute and it takes ages to recover for such bad instants. Good that Sherbet is gaining community's trust and also is very active on this forum.

Sherbet is very good in Bitcointalk and has gained its reputation here. It does not have too long history like other legendary casinos but everything must be started from day 1 and Sherbet is already in the forum many months. Time flies so fast and if they continue to operate well, in future when we talk about Sherbet, it will be a good, trusted and old casino.

Every new casino will take time to become popular among the gamblers here and Sherbet is doing a good job here. Also, I am happy that is gaining the trust of the community and at the same time they are willing to make changes to their site according to the will of the people. i am excited to see sports betting to be enabled on the site.  Smiley
we will also add a sportbook.
671  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's a strategy to lose on: October 12, 2023, 08:48:19 PM
So imagine doing all these together, most gambling games needs your understanding of the odds and taking them into account, especially when wagering, so how can a gambler get involved in all games at once just to increase their chances of getting lucky? Stop this as it's not a strategy to win, it's a strategy to lose.

If one is playing a game of skill like poker, or black jack, he cannot play any other games because he is focused on the game.  Same goes with slots, although it can be played with auto spin, it is a bit troublesome to play other game because the auto spin is suspended when there is another application in full screen in the front of computer operation.

I do not find any problem playing  in multiple games.  If a player is lucky, he is luck, if he is not then even with a single game play he will lose.  So I don't believe that it is more effective in terms of winning to play or focus in just a single game or single kind of games.

How about betting on the few matches at the same time and also playing a casino game while awaiting the results of that bet. This can be done and i would not call it a strategy to lose. However, we do require capital to place simultaneous bets and also play a (single) casino game at the same time.

However, we cannot play few casino games at the same time as it will result in a loss (lack of dedication on each game) and also you will not find any entertainment while doing this type of gambling. Those who do this, may also not able to manage the money properly too , as they won't be able to calculate instantly as how much they won or loss and whether they are in overall profit or loss.
672  Other / Meta / Re: Huge site outage! on: October 12, 2023, 08:24:36 PM
This morning, I got worried when I noticed an unusual delay that took hours and different than previous time where it took only few minutes. I texted some friends and tried using different devices thinking the issue might be only on my device or my home network. But after checking websites like isitdownrightnow, I discovered that the problem is with everyone. In my opinion this is a serious issue, and even the administrators here are not aware of the main reason and why it took longer this time. I'm wondering if the problem is related to Cloudflare or the hosting servers, and I believe the hosting company can provide an answer for this error and suggest ways to prevent it.
Some of us can't live without Bitcointalk for even few hours LOL!

Luckily or unluckily (don't know what to call it), I did not experience this big outage today and the reason for this was that I wasn't online on bitcointalk at this moment.

However, i know that these days we often experience outages in bitcointalk, the previous recent one was experienced by me when Re: Bitcointalk was down .

It is true that we cannot live without bitcointalk but what worries me is that theymos is also not sure why the forum is facing too many of these downtimes recently.
It was the same weird thing which caused a few hours of downtime 6-12 months ago, and I think it's what causes the few minutes of downtime people observe every few weeks. I've never been able to figure out what causes it.
673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Flip or Trade? What’s The Bigger Gamble? on: October 12, 2023, 07:53:25 PM
Cant really be denied that trading is really that something that involves gambling but the beauty of this thing is that you could really be able to apply strategies and analysis on which it would really be lessening out the certain risks on losing a trade which it is really that totally not applicable if we do speak on dealing with luck based games on which we know that results would really be completely random. In overall, its not really that good to make out some similar treatment between trading and gambling yet they are really that different in the first place. Yes, you might need that to put up risks for you to make money or profit but the thing on how its been done and whats the real purpose will really differ.

Most people still do trading like gambling. This will place a future trade taking high leverage and do very little technical analysis. They will either take a trade based on their own will or copy paste any signals from the signal's groups (there are too many of them these days, each claiming to be 100% accurate).

Those who still do some technical analysis, do it in the wrong way. Yes, I say this because using the traditional technical analysis tools won't help much as this market too much manipulated and all these technical analysis indicators are lagging.

Only a few people are real traders (and not gamblers) who have mastered price action trading. I would say that unless someone is doing the right trading with money management, he can be termed as a proper trader, the rest all of them are trading on a hit and try basis and that is similar to gambling.

674  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Unstoppable wallet {User experiences} on: October 10, 2023, 03:04:15 AM
Let's suppose, i have many different altcoins stored in the Unstoppable wallet and I accidentally removed some of the wallets from the main screen. Now how can I check through Blockchain (web), that my wallet contains which altcoins that have a balance?
Just like how you go through bitcoin blockchain explorer to track your transaction through txid. If you want to know the blockchain explorer that you can use for the altcoins, click on the coin on Unstoppable wallet, click on the coin that you received, you will see the txid and the block explorer that you can use to track it on a browser. Those explorers are what you can know offhand.

Yes, i know that part, my question is that if i have a lot of altcoins on my wallet, how can i know which altcoins i have ?

Example, in the metamask extension, we can have a lot of Eth based tokens and sometimes we do not add that particular token in the wallet but it do exist. So now i have many tokens, i don't remember which one i have so i go to https://etherscan.io/ , enter my ETH address and it will show all tokens along with their quantity.

Do we have the same thing for the Unstoppable wallet?

There is no explorer where you can find all the Unstoppable wallets coins and their balances listed in once place. You have to copy the bitcoin address and check its balance blockchian.info. Similarly, for Ethereum and eth related tokens can be found at Etherscan. Same goes for BSC based tokens (https://bscscan.com/). Litecoin has its own explorer and so there are many coins having their own block explorers.

I understand your point of view and i will suggest you that when you deposit in any new altcoins in unstoppable wallet, make a note of that altcoin in your diary or somewhere. So in case you do delete the altcoins from the main screen, you always know in which altcoins you have balance. There may be any better way but i can only think of this way right now.
675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: October 09, 2023, 07:35:18 AM
That is true and as long as one does not exceed the limit, he can still withdraw his winnings without doing KYC. But if it has crossed the limit, he has to do KYC. But we must remember that each casino has limits that allow someone to withdraw their winnings so it is not surprising that one day, if we win $100, we are immediately asked to do KYC. However, some casinos will not ask us to do KYC because the casino's limit is still higher than the previous casino. When we gamble at a crypto casino, we must always be prepared if one day the casino asks us to do KYC. That's all we can do and if we don't want to do it, we don't have to gamble or use very small money to gamble.

This is a bit confusing here as where these casinos will demand for KYC is we won big amount or if we withdraw big amount?
I think most of the non-KYC casino will not ask for KYC until you initiate a high withdrawal. So if you want to continue playing at those casinos without KYC, there are few options like

1- Do no initiate withdrawal, rather use the winning amount playing more games and enjoy the time
2- Take withdrawal slow and steadily

Even using these precautions, there is no grantee that they won't ask for the KYC. So mentally you should be ready, that at any time they may cease your account and demand for a KYC.

677  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com - The Leading Crypto Casino - Drake, UFC, Everton, Alfa Romeo F1 Team on: October 09, 2023, 03:42:44 AM
I'm starting to not care about when Stake will send monthly bonus because the amount that I get will be lower again and again because of my inactivity. Last month I received $20 only which is my lowest monthly bonus as Plat II, pretty sure that this month I'll get lower amount than last month so I do not expect too much anymore. I also received my lowest weekly bonus as Plat II yesterday ($4), just waiting the time when I'll receive nothing from their bonuses Smiley
That's surprisingly low. I think being inactive is a major part on why you get lower amounts as the months go by. I didn't know that was a thing until I read it here. It sort of makes sense though. You are not bringing them any wagers, win or loss or the site visits. So, seems sort of fair that they do not pay equal to the ones who are active. However, they should make it clearer that there will be some sort of monthly decay, when it comes to bonus amounts. I wouldn't have known unless I heard some people complain about it here.

You may read the terms and conditions for the bonus allocation at stake and you will know exactly why some people may get lower bonuses as compared to others. I hope it will be mentioned in their documentation.

Generally speaking, the more you wager, the more active you are, only then you should be eligible for the bonus. The gambling sites may give no bonus to people who are inactive and do not wager at all.
678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto betting on: October 09, 2023, 01:23:03 AM
The easiest thing for us to do is look for another casino that will not cheat its users. That's what we should do. The government could monitor every casino. But we, as gamblers, should be able to find a suitable casino for us that will not cheat us. We can find the casino from this forum because, in this forum, many casinos have earned their reputation and can also provide satisfactory service to their users. So we won't experience any problems from the government starting to tighten its regulations or the casinos.

Its better to play on a reputed casino as those will not scam or cheat you. However, if i know that the government is monitoring a casino, i would not prefer to play there even though they may not scam. But then the government will not only monitor the casino for scams, they will keep an eye as who is depositing and withdrawal how much amounts and things like that.

I will go for the reputed casinos which will be honest to the gamblers even if no government is having a check and balance on them and believe me there are many such good casinos where we can bet and gamble.

I just saw an Ad for Lays chips in the Espn Cricinfo site  Smiley

That's a bit refreshing as usually I see only betting ads here but this is one of the Chips manufacturing brands "Lays" who have opted to advertise on this platform dominated by the betting sites.
I saw a K-drama series being advertised on the website when I visited it, it looks like they allow many companies to advertise on their website.

Espn CricInfo have different Editions like India, Australia, Srilanka, United States, Global etc and your region will be automatically applied when you visit that site from your country's IP address. So I think we would see different ads based on our region and many of us won't see the ads that OP mentioned if our region is different.

By the way, I am not surprised to see less popular casino sites advertise on Cricinfo or non-casino-based businesses advertise there. We know it's all about marketing. Cricinfo may list the ads from those who gave them a good amount to list them. Also, since everyone knows that Cricinfo has a big audience, many non-casino brands may also be interested in advertising on that site.
680  Other / Meta / Re: Does deleting our own posts harms our acccount ? on: October 08, 2023, 09:02:25 PM
It shouldn't have any bad effect on your account but deleting your old posts might affect your forum ranks. I heard someone with full member rank deleted his few old posts and it ranked down.

This hold true if your account activity and posts numbers are very close to each other and if you delete your posts, it can affect your current rank, but those accounts who are very old and have greater number of posts, deleting even 100s of posts may not have any effect on the account ranking.
