My past experience is that however much you think Bitcoin will grow in it's development, adoption and price, you are underestimating the speed that it will take to get there. Bitcoin grows quick in all aspects, it is hard to keep track and not that long from now, it will be impossible.

683  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: confirmed unspent output (will pay 200$ who helps resolve the issue) on: December 03, 2017, 02:13:44 PM
As i have feared. Never heard of that wallet. Quick search just gave me a big "SCAM" as a second result. Look at their wiki, look at this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1964190.0 .
You used a very questionable wallet, my friend, and now you are in this big trouble of trying to beg people to give you back your money. You might have to come to terms that your money is probably gone and that no one will return it to you. You should have used an open source software. You need to take care of your security more seriously if you are going to deal with money as criminals love money.
684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: BC's gone for good? on: December 03, 2017, 01:54:16 PM
That money, my friend, is long gone. If you sent BTC to 3DVKD2HVMFpU3c4cLxQonNyysZk8ZNyYm1 all I can tell you is that money was spent an hour later and has been going around in many transactions ever since. If you never used that address and you have a private key for it, then you might be infected with malwere.
685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: confirmed unspent output (will pay 200$ who helps resolve the issue) on: December 03, 2017, 01:44:58 PM
What is the name of the android wallet you are using? How did you exchange these coins?
You own 183YqMThCPSz7v9ob545wnbuvy2wU4yu6y? That means that you have the private keys for it and can spend those bitcoins.
The transaction to that address has already been confirmed, but here is the thing, this address has only balance on Bitcoin network, from more then a week ago. It has no BCH on it.

Since you sold BTC to get BCH, as far as I understood, this is probably not your address and you probably don't have the private keys for it.
The man you are trying to contact doesn't have anything to do with the balance of this address anymore, he already sent the bitcoins and they are confirmed.
And the address probably isn't yours anyway. Addresses starting with 3 are special addresses that might be multisig or something like that, which means it can get more complicated.

Edit: I see you answered some questions, but what is the wallet you were using?

687  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Lightweight Client on: December 03, 2017, 01:22:50 PM
Could you be more clear on what you are looking for and why Electrum can't help you with it?
I don't understand the part where you say that there isn't performance on PoW, nor what you mean by a wallet you get to "work" on.

Do you just want a wallet that can send and receive bitcoins? Then Electrum would do the trick.
I'm trying to make some optimizations on a lightweight client if possible and right now my focus is on optimizing the PoW function.
However, my observation and understanding is that Electrum does not perform PoW but only helps to verify it.
Will like to know if there is any other lightweight client that can meet my criteria.

Well doing a PoW function would be called mining in Bitcoin. Optimizations in mining is a huge thing, worth millions with very big players in question.
Mining isn't even done with computers anymore, it is done by specific machines that do the job a lot more efficiently, called ASICs.
They use their own software, as far as I understand or a full node like Bitcoin Core. I doubt that they use a light wallet, as light wallets are usually for an average user that doesn't want to trade his hard disk space for higher security. Light wallets like Electrum don't verify transactions, they can't as they don't have past transactions and would always require a full node to connect to in order to ask if the transaction is valid or not.
688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the development status of the Lightning Network? on: December 02, 2017, 10:16:22 PM
I dunno really, but if implemented it would set Bitcoin as the main arbiter in stone...90% + in dominance.? Maybe.?
Not gonna happen any time soon, Maybe never Cheesy They wanted to increase the block size by 250KB and when they tried to do it, Someone with a significant amount of hash power forked bitcoin, Developers now are cautious, They think if they try to implement LN, Everyone leave BTC and fork a new one. If fees stay small, miners will mine empty blocks, If you were transferring fiat with bitcoin network you could argue about high fees, For someone trying to transfer a million bucks $3 is nothing.
Please check reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/7h1v54/lightning_network_progress_72_out_of_75_tests_pass/
If this is true, then you should think over your first sentence Smiley
Also in another topic there was something about a Lightning Bitcoin fork end of December this year, but I'm not sure if it's another worthless alt or this is a fork needed for the LN to be implemented on Bitcoin. We'll see

There is no fork necessary for LN. Segwit helped a lot, other then that, it is all prepared when it comes to Bitcoin protocol.

It is all the fault of the big miners and those big companies behind them.

When there is a huge change on Bitcoin, all those companies will try to get as much profit as possible, just like it happened when a good update of the lightning network was TRYING to get implemented.

And that was the first step of the bitcoin cash fork, that is the reason of why bitcoin has been forked by the first time on the first day of August.

It is probably never going to get implemented, because the miners would not let it happen.

More than 30% of the hashpower is on China, and they are only supporting Bcash.

There is nothing miners can do to stop LN. There is no fork needed, so they can just leave the current network. Which they are free to do at any time and there is no reason why this would hurt Bitcoin. New miners will come to profit from lack of competition and bigger network.

Grin Grin

Ja sam mislio da porodica uhvacenog placa porez

Nije to losa ideja ... pisi odmah ministru

How do you equate the value of women today?

Many women degrades womanity, how about you? how do you value a woman/yourself?
Women today don't value their physical body, showing them off for free on Facebook and Instagram.
Though some gives value but majority are not. It's disgusting! Awareness of their value must be spread in this generation.

What is your problem is they are showing off their body? If someone is good looking and beautiful, then what is wrong in showing off? What do you really want? Confine them in some burqa just like what the Saudis do? I can see that you are a male. You should take care of the way you dress. Please don't try to dictate which clothes others should wear.

I also assume he is male and that he is interested in women. This is probably why he is having a problem with women showing off their body. I don't think he cares about women that he is not interested in, nor in men for that matter, but he might be looking for someone that doesn't show off their body and he might be having a hard time finding that, so he is worried. In a way he wants a person of his values and he is simply asking "how come there is not more of them? too me it seems like there should be more, based on my understanding of people's wants and needs in life" or something like that.

Showing off your body might simply indicate to him that a person is too shallow and focusing on unnecessary things in life. Sure, just because you play a violin like a professional doesn't mean you can't play a piano like a professional as well, but to him it might just seem like it is unlikely that a person has time to dedicate for both.

Miners have no incentive to mine empty blocks. Small fees still make a nice profit if there are more users, which LN is what it is all about. Scaling.
Mining is a self-correcting mechanism. There were miners when fees were smaller and there wasn't enough transactions, now there is more transactions so there will be more miners. Either way, no one is really worried about miners leaving Bitcoin, there will always be someone to mine it. Anyone who sees the value in Bitcoin will mine it, they would earn profit, even from small fees, if they didn't, then fees would increase and so on.
692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Creating bitcoin fork on: December 02, 2017, 09:02:57 PM
If you don't know how to make a Bitcoin fork then why are you making it exactly?

People make forks because there they think that Bitcoin protocol should be changed in some way. What way do you think Bitcoin protocol should be changed?
When you figure that out, then doing the actual change in the protocol is just a job for a programmer. For that you will need someone who knows C++ well and can spend time learning how Bitcoin Core works.

Bitcoin is largely unregulated in the entire world. It is unlikely anyone would or could help you in case of fraud.
Electrum is a popular open source lightweight wallet.
Localbitcoins is a popular exchange and is likely reliable to a certain extent there is also Bisq that is decentralized and is world-wide as a result, I even know that it has certain activity in Brasil, at least from what I have seen on the forum.
695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to accept BTC the safe way for our Art works? on: November 30, 2017, 10:31:26 PM
Your Bitcoins will probably never decrease their value because of their history. It is a very stupid concept that is unlikely to be ever implemented and no one proposes it as a good idea. Even FBI sold their's sized bitcoins they acquired from dark markets. It would be a 180 turn to say that the bitcoins they sold at an auction are worthless now regarding the government. Not that the government could ever be able to make such a huge effect on Bitcoin anyway.

I would say that you really shouldn't worry about tainting your coins and keep the records of what you bought and sold and for how much with the bitcoin transaction id associated with it.
696  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC - Buy it OR mine it... on: November 30, 2017, 10:26:06 PM
Very likely the best scenario is the most boring and simple one. Just buy Bitcoin and hold it for as long as you can. Your money could be worth tens or hundreds of times it's current value one day.
697  Economy / Exchanges / Re: bitsquare.io - The P2P Fiat-Bitcoin Exchange on: November 29, 2017, 08:45:44 PM
I made a sell 0.475 BTC for NMC order, but an error occured. I cancelled the order, and the BTC have already been send and are in limbo now. Any chance to get them back? (Transaction ID: "9f7051434c505f0859dd6ba3391464931a8ab042742a3658f73fe68bbc2e12c1")

If no one took your offer, since it is canceled, then your coins never left. Only a trading fee was probably paid, which are mostly BTC mining fees.
You can always access the emergency wallet with cmd+e or to even see your private keys with cmd+j. So there is nothing to worry about.

Bisq just reserves funds when the offer is made. It can't send them anywhere until someone takes your offer as it needs his address to lock them in a multisig with the arbitrator and you.
698  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: How long does it take Blockchain to verify my I.D on: November 27, 2017, 07:54:54 PM
I was using the blockchain
.info website and linked with the mobile app, they asked for passport Id verification,

Can I buy my bitcoin through the electrum wallet, I have also ordered a Nano Ledger S online which I should have in the next few days

You can't. Electrum is just a wallet, not an exchange. Hardware wallet is a good choice as well, so you don't need to bother then with a software wallet.
You can use a decentralized exchange like Bisq. You don't need no verification there.

700  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: what about optional degressive fees? on: November 27, 2017, 07:48:15 PM
It seems to me like you are proposing something like a reverse locktime.

only on the fees!

so the value of the fees decreases with time (it wasn't clear in my post?)

Oh no, it was clear. I am just saying that it would make more sense to add the whole OP code as a soft fork then to do a hard fork to make it only for the fees.
This way we wouldn't have to do a hard fork and would get a new feature.

We could leave  the code with the maximum freedom/options for the users. No need for a hard fork. No?

Yes, this would require a soft fork tho. Soft forks are different then hard forks as they allow people to use the old software that is compatible with the new, but is just lacking a certain feature. This would be one of those features.
