Hey folks, I just pointed my 1x S9 at this pool, and have 29 more in the mail.
Is it possible to somehow get notifications when my miners go down? I know this pool isn't configured for it but maybe there's something I can do on my end?
I will have 30 S9's in a shopping container, I need to know when they go down (bad internet, loss of power etc). I was planning on using Slushpool because they have notification, but I would prefer to support this pool and pay lower fee's.
Couple ways to do it: 1) Use the cgminer API on the S9. You can build something that calls the API and retrieves the stats. If this fails, its down. 2) Use the pool stats for your worker. Again, build something to occasionally poll the pool stats, and if your worker is down, take some action.

i'm on windows 10, completed all steps until runnning cgminer.exe -n, cgminer.exe doesn't exist? another version of cgminer i have tried isn't detecting my gekkoscience 2pac usb asic miner at all
You can only run these with the version of cgminer in this thread. What folder are you in when you run cgminer.exe? Is it the same folder that you built the exe in?

They never stopped - this batch still hasn't sold out yet, which tells you a little bit about the demand for BCC. Usually their crypto only sales last a lot longer than the wire ones anyway.

So far all they have is a bunch of press releases and not much proof the chip exists.

For a start - learn what the actual coins are and post in the correct section. This is the BITCOIN hardware section where you posted and that means only ASIC-based miners which are not DIY items. Bet the mods are gonna move it. You want the altcoin mining area - those use CPU/CPU-based miners. I see, ok thank you. My mistake I suppose. I had thought though that the question was valid to Bitcoin mining as well. I thought custom rigs could be created for Bitcoin as well, is this not so? Nope - the days of GPU mining Bitcoin are long gone. The only way to be competitive are with specialized machines that can only do Bitcoin mining - these are composed of hundreds of ASIC chips and can only do SHA-256 hashing.

Hi guys, There are two technology giants Japanese company DMO and Samsung coming in mining with new 7nm and 3.5nm chips according to news. Can anybody tell me how long Antminer s9 will be profitable?
What news? Be highly skeptical of promises of magical new chip fab techniques coming. It's extremely hard to get 7nm and 3.5nm chips, and companies like Intel, Apple, and NVidia who have spent billions on R&D aren't quite there yet.

Got my 9/30 batch order from MinerWarez today. They were basically new-in-box condition, the same as when I ordered from Canaan directly. All the cables included and they spun right up - either I got lucky, or the "used" condition miners were just to meet the initial rush.
That's good to hear! Does MinerWarez charge customs fees or taxes on the order? None for me - I'm in the US so it was just the cost I paid at checkout and nothing extra.

yes I live in the US
ohh wow I actually have 4 of those power supplies, where can I buy JUST the board and wires that attach to the bottom??
http://www.parallelminer.com/ sells just the breakout boards and the cables, or you can get them from Sidehack

You could also get two of the pluggable hubs and run them from one Pi, but yes, you're right. I'm using the 20 port one to run 7 2PACs .
|
|
|
so not even sha256 altcoins can be mined with these sticks. I bought them thinking that i could mine other altcoins. shit does anyone want to buy 4 2pacs?
You can mine any SHA256 coin with these. Digibyte, Namecoin, Peercoin, Bitcoin Cash, etc etc

I’ve quite a specific question hopefully someone can answer!
I have an rpi set up to run my single avalon 741 miner - could I also plug in a Moonlander 2 usb miner into the rpi and use that to power it?
If so, it would be great to dual mine!
This might work, but it could be complicated to setup. The easiest would be to get a separate Pi for the Moonlanders. If you really want to make it work, you'd have to run your own version of cgminer for the Avalon and then some other mining program for the Moonlander in a different screen session. Not sure if the Pi has enough RAM to make it work.

Can someone pm me a good pool to use a single compac towards?
My best share is 1.5M and the current "blocks found diff" will never find a lottery block.
What is your goal with this? You can find a lottery block with any hashrate, its just very unlikely. If you want to try and earn more, you should find a low fee pool like Kano that will pay you some dust every now and then, but nothing too extreme. You could also try to point it to multipool and get fractions of whatever the most profitable coin now is.

I was thinking it was just this batch that was BCC only. They still quote prices in BTC and LTC for other things.
Totally unfounded theory, but my guess is they're selling off the machines they used to support the BCC launch, which is why these are shipping earlier than the last batch of S9s which accepted BTC/Wire as payment.

the fan is about 120mm around 5 inches. it is designed to push air into an empty space not a 5 inch tube. if it pushs into a tube the tube has to be bigger then the 120mm fan not equal or smaller. if noise is not an issue put the front of the miner in an 8 or 10 inch flex duct but the flex duct can only be about 12 feet or less before it has issues letting the hot air escape. Stupid follow up question - the front is the part with the fan, right (basically, where the hot air comes out from)?

Very odd problem.. when ever I try to open the bat file it just insta closes the program.. I don't get it. It was running for about 4 months no issue then boom it just shut down and won't start mining again :S.. Tried restarting comp no go, different program, no go :S..
You can open up a command prompt (run the "cmd" command in Windows), and run the batch file from that window. It'll show you the error it is throwing.

If you add them to your cart, but switch language to English, they disappear -- I'm guessing you need to be in china to order.
