Well, I thought the problem being solved was the centralization of exchanges.

It seems strange to pair centralized Ripple with decentralized Counterparty.  Can Symbiont's product be considered decentralized if it uses Ripple?

Why the rise dudes?  I thought the airdrop failed and the coin died.

I never bothered to setup the Supernet wallet and have been using the NXT Wallet. What is the best way to transfer everything over?

Thanks

You don't really need to transfer anything since superNET will use Nxt addresses. However, probably worth trying out the Jay wallet as someone above mentioned.

Yup, no transfer required. SuperNET is built on Nxt, so your regular passphrase will access the same account, just with all the extra SuperNET stuff as well.

Is UNITY an NXT asset?

And BTCD is not an NXT asset but an entirely separate coin, correct?
686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SWARM] Swarm - Cryptoequity Crowdfunding - Official Thread on: April 29, 2015, 06:39:03 PM
fractastical, should an investor buy SWARM if he is looking to generate income and/or capital gains for himself and his family?

I feel like answering this question would involve giving investment advice, which I'm not particular well suited for. I'm more of a product developer who is trying to build the best product I know how to. If you want to get investment advice, check out places like http://cyber.fund/ or the market analysis that happens on our forum.

I didn't word that very well.  How about this:

Is SWARM still designed to make money for its holders?

Does the desktop wallet require downloading the entire BTC blockchain?
688  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread on: April 29, 2015, 02:00:20 AM
What are the options for moving XCP from one BTC address to another?  I know of importing the private key into Counterwallet and sending from there.  Are there any other options?  Is there an ETA on the desktop wallet?
689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: April 29, 2015, 01:52:11 AM
Can I keep my MAID anywhere other than on a centralized exchange?

Yes you can transfer them to any bitcoin address for which you control the privet key and then use https://www.omniwallet.org/ when you want to transfer them back to an exchange or send them somewhere else..

Very nice.  Are there any options for that besides Omniwallet?

Currently, no.  I don't think there will be until the Maidsafe token is exchangeable for Safecoin when the Safe Network goes live.

Where will Safecoin be stored once the token exchange has been made?  Is the plan to build a Bitcoin-esque wallet?

As far as moving MAID from a BTC address with Omniwallet, do you basically import the private key into Omniwallet and then sweep the coins in and send them wherever from there?
690  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: jl777 Projects on: April 29, 2015, 01:44:12 AM
Is it fair to say InstantDEX, BTCD, and SuperNET are his biggest projects to date?

Are any of his software projects out of beta?

692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [SOFTWARE SALE LIVE] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: April 29, 2015, 01:21:14 AM
I like this project and I bought some Factoids.  I'd like to buy more but I'm concerned that the Factoid price will tank as soon as they hit the market in May.  Most (all?) other crowdsale coins have followed a similar pattern.  Any thoughts on this?

Also, will Factoids be stored on the BTC blockchain like XCP?  Will a wallet be released for them by the time they are issued?

Ebay fees are set to 9%, what an armed robbery.

And they charge their fees on the shipping cost too so it does get truly outrageous.

Does Blockmarket have a ratings system?
No rep system yet although we talked about it. We have to get ppl to use first so we can service further requirements.

I don't think many people will use it without a rep system.  In fact, I think the lack of one is a big part of what's holding FreeMarket back.

Did the NXT Freemarket already go live? Can users already list items there?

Yes, here is a viewer:

Its pretty easy to do it.. I think the cumalative benefit of using the service will outweigh any missing features with todays implementation.. I personally dont think rep system is a show breaker but noone is right or wrong in a subjective matter.

It would be easy to gather feedback after payment and surface the rating on thr payment gateways or custom UIs like blockmarket can show next to the seller.

eBay never would have gotten off the ground without its rep system.  And neither would have SR.
698  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin tax software? on: April 28, 2015, 06:18:14 PM
Yep, if you held the coins that you sold for 1 year or more, it's long-term capital gains and you pay "only" 15% in tax.

The users are not only the ebay alibaba listing types but say someone like overstock (no feedback) yet still people buy because they are regulated. My priority is to be able to put their stores on the blockchain.. there isthen a seperation of concerns between the function of a ecommerce site and the marketting of it via vetting/regulation/review system. Having a builtin rep system may not be useful for thesr businesses already in place which already solve the issue... however long term if there is demand it will get prioritized and done.

I could put up a store called Overstock and no one would know if it's really Overstock or just me.  That's where the rep system comes in.

Overstock and other large companies won't be interested in listing on Blockmarket until it's popular.  And it won't be popular until Average Joe is using it.  And Average Joe won't use it without a rep system.

eBay's success is due in large part to its rep system, and that's with reversible payments.  With irreversible blockchain payments, the rep system is even more important.
