Aggiungo un PS: Esegui backup rigorosi del tuo wallet, e' piu' facile perdere tutto per un errore o problema hw che non per un keylogger.

Tornando ai problemi operativi, dato che non ho ancora la possibilità di utilizzare un pc dedicato, ho formattato il mio notebook, installato windows7 e adesso mi sto apprestando ad installare linux su vmware. Pensavo di mettere ubuntu a 32 bit, criptarlo e metterci sopra il client ufficiale e stanotte scaricare la blockchain, ci sono delle controindicazioni (a parte che se mi mettono un trojan o un keylogger sono cmq fregato?).
Mi sembra l'opzione migliore al momento...
Ciao, secondo me, no, l'opzione migliore, al momento e' multibit www.multibit.org, ovvero un client leggero, che non scarica i 9 GB di blockchain. E' scritto in java, e la cosa a molti non piace, pero' e' semplice da usare e ha tutto quello che serve per partire in mezz'ora. Poi con calma metterai sui macchine virtuali etc etc. spiccioli ps. finche' non hai grosse somme sopra, e non hai servizi attivi verso l'esterno, il problema non e' il keylogger. |

Hi,
I have my units hashing nicely, but I'd like to test/move them on p2pool, question: is it "safe" to do a firmware update from wifi? I have them connected via wifi, right now, I could connect a laptop to the lan port, if it is safer.
I'd like to ask a second question: does the TP WR703N have a reset button? What happens if I make some mistake through ssh or web interface? Do I end up with an aluminum brick? :O

I don't really have a problem with the delayed payments myself... my problem is that there is no specific code in case of payment delays... so if you're under 1.00 BTC and don't have the hashrate to make more than 1BTC a day, you'll get a single daily payment which will consist of some small percentage of the available wallet. The available wallet gets emptied every hour or two by the people at 60000mhash+.
Yeah, payments should start from low hash rate suckers and pay up towards high hash-rate suckers  and pool should pay every hour if it has available coins. spiccioli |

Ok guys, with the Hong Kong forwarder's name at hand, thanks iamnot, a DHL operator trusted me and decided to search for my packages using my last name and address... and... I have my fuck**g tracking number! The sad thing is that my waybill has been created yesterday, march 28th, in the afternoon (I believe Hong Kong time), so either my units arrived here, were sent back and yesterday they started the whole process to send them here again... hard to believe or they were never sent in the beginning, maybe my order was lost when they dismantled the avalon asic store between batch one and batch two, who knows? Anyway, let's hope now that they arrive here in a few days, I'll keep you informed. spiccioli ps. because of this I've lost the income of three avalon units for a couple of weeks... anyway today, as we say here, I'm happy as a toddler |

today I've found a more chatty DHL representative, he tells me that having:
- name
- address
- DHL customer code
of the Hong Kong forwarder through which units are shipped could be a way to find out where my packages are.

I've even spoken to a higher level representative here in Italy, in Milan, which told me the same thing, they cannot search without tracking, they can visualize all packages they are handling, but they cannot filter them for name, or destination and so on.
...
Here in the USA each DHL representative I talk to, a different one each day, does a search for me of all packages being shipped to my name at my address within the past month. I asked the guy today if he is confident given the search he did that I don't have a package in the DHL system and he said yes. BitSyncom answer here is even scarier than his silence!!
He is admitting that:
- he does not know where the units are
- he has no tracking numbers
- he has no way to compel forwarder in Hong Kong to give him trackings
I have a ticket on support.avalon-asic open for more than five days now.
DHL has told me that Hong Kong to Europe is a two days travel, so in five days I should have received them twice, at least.
AND without tracking number DHL is not really able to find packages, I've stopped calling them after five or six different help desk ladies told me they where not able to search for it.

La riposta e' no. I BTC minati ogni giorno sono una quantita' fissa pari a 25 per blocco per 6 blocchi l'ora. Piu' gente c'e' che mina, piu' sara' piccola la tua fetta. Oggi come oggi, con gli ASIC che stanno entrando nel mercato, qualsiasi altro sistema, se non ce l'hai gia', e' una perdita certa. E gli stessi ASIC sono difficili da ottenre, in questo momento una sola "ditta" li vende e ha gia' venduto tutti quelli che produrra' da qui a luglio. In questo momento conviene, probabilmente, investire in BTC quanto ci si puo' permettere di perdere. Tieni presente che il BTC e' un mercato mondiale, potrebbero crollare a zero mentre tu stai dormendo. spiccioli ps. e poi in Italia la corrente elettrica costa molto cara. |

In customs clearance for the 2nd day in a row, delayed. Was contacted by Avalon representative and told to contact DHL, was provided tracking number, did talk to DHL imports dept. Was promised to be contacted by DHL at 5:00 PM today with update.

My avalons arrived yesterday out of the blue. Yifu said the same thing, they were shipped.
DHL couldn't find them in their system I called a bunch of times. Even the morning they were delivered DHL found nothing in their system. So just because DHL can't find it doesn't mean it's not on it way.
Thank you for posting. Now that you have the package & attached paperwork, can you see a tracking number, and does it give any information that you wish you had earlier? Good question, ProfMac, what can you see on DHL site when you use your tracking number, I'd add. spiccioli |

Thanks. I am freaking out. Bitsyncom has not given me any information. No tracking information and no information of any kind.
As far as I am concerned The Avalon Team owes me a lot of bitcoins. I ordered and paid quickly. My address information is correct. So it's their shipping screw up or they sent out my order late. It's costing me a shit load of money. I should have had this box weeks ago.

Aseras, my problem is that they think that they wrote a wrong address, so my units could be everywhere, without tracking we cannot know where they are. What I don't understand is why is it so difficult for them to make a phone call to their Hong Kong forwarder and get back tracking numbers. spiccioli |

I think you already know it, but order 200000381 has the very same problem, we don't know where it is.
I've resubmitted my address with ticket #501, but as you can see from my receipt that I've attached to ticket #501 it was already correct and cell phone number as well.

Ticket opened on support.avalon-asic.com five days ago after I saw later orders being delivered, got an answer immediately telling me that my address/telephone number could be wrong and to send it again.
I've asked for a tracking number because DHL does not even search for a package for me without tracking number (I've tried several times, to no avail).
I'm waiting for tracking and/or delivery.
