682  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[ANN] Australia Coin AUS - ON EXCHANGE - POOLS - LAUNCHED★ on: April 06, 2014, 08:35:20 PM
looking good

couple questions first

why is the logo non representative of Australia with french flag and colours in the background

how does this help Australian's in particular the indigenous people of Australia

why is this coin different to other coins

why is this coin got a 3% premine when all we hear about premininig is that it is bad

Your asking all the right questions........ So don't expect any response from the developer

To IPO investors, I truly hope you get your coins, but don't expect any future development of this coin and for your investment to grow.  I hope I'm wrong but ive been around long enough to know how these coins turn out. Pump and Dump Dump Dump all the way down.
683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★[PRE-ANN] Australia Coin AUS - IPO ESCROW - LAUNCH INFO - INVEST NOW!??★ on: April 06, 2014, 12:21:21 PM
OP, what are you thinking? Aussies don't have internet and wouldn't find out about your fake scamcoin.  I'm not one to call coins a scam, but to use the name of something you have no idea about, and then ask for IPO.  well if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, ITS A FUCKING DUCK!

Give us evidence why you should use the the name of our great country for your coin and I happily retract the abovt (although the IPO is still BS regardless) Otherwise change it so not to cause confusion when something legitimate comes along.

Voting has now ended with overwhelming support for a new developer.  Furthermore its safe to assume the old developer wont be back.  And so I think is safe to say that CryptoGir, you now have the con   Cheesy

Its going to be a long road for CryptoGir to fix the wallet and get SHACoin back on track, and he will need our support to do it.  I would encourage community members serious about SHACoin offer CryptoGir their assistance.  Please don't be offended if he doesn't get back to you straight away though, as he said in his previous post, his primary focus now is fixing the wallet.

Furthermore I have secured the domain sha-coin.com.  I'm happy to hand it over free of charge of course to CryptoGir if he wishes to use it.  This is my first of many contributions I hope to make to SHACoin and its community.
685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [VOTE][SHA] SHACoin dev missing, whats our next move? on: April 06, 2014, 11:28:49 AM
I have ended voting a little early as its obvious what the community wants.  CryptoGir will now take over development of SHAcoin for the foreseeable future.  He is now working on the code and will continue to keep everyone updated.  Please don't expect a quick fix to this, it difficult to take over development especially when you cant contact the original developer to ask questions about their code. He can't magically snap his fingers and have everything working. Just remember, SHAcoin is not dead yet.

out of sync again, and the http://explorer.shacoin.co/ stopped.
we need to fix this as soon as possible.

when is the hardfork occuring?

After voting

so why is nothing syncing? who is fucking about with the code?

I believe we are in state of anarchy now, but  i think someone (CryptoGir?) already looking at the code and stashcoin developer is willing to help also.
Let our voting pass first.

We need to be a little patient.  Maybe close your wallet and not think about SHACoin for a couple of days. We need to work out what is wrong with the client and we may need to do some testing to ensure it is a smooth release.  We will work this out.

who are 'we'??
community maybe ..

i've been mining this since launch and continually restarting my wallets, and adding and deleting nodes to try and get it to sync. whatever, or whoever is the cause of the total stop that we are seeing, should make a comment on this thread and assure us that they are working on a fix.

a random stop in sync, where the wallets won't sync back into the network, a stop in the blockchain - looks to me like 'we' have decided to kill the coin.
Without any advisory, this is how it looks.

we need info, now.

Nothing has changed in the code.  The network is stuck on block 29356.  If you read the debug file the client believes there is a higher block then 29356 and is searching the other peers for info on blocks above 29356.  The problem is all other peers are reporting they are on block 29356 and so the clent keeps searching, hence it seems we are stuck.

I wish I had the technical understanding of the code and could fix it.  I hope Cryptogir is online soon and can shed some light.

1. Satoshi made his code OPEN SOURCE for a reason - so that if people wanted to take it and make their own versions, they could. Having multiple SHA256 coins is not that different to

Agreed this is what open source , innovation and the open internet is all about...

This is why github exists, and has an awesome "fork" button Smiley

+1, also the code is written in C++, one of the oldest, and arguably simple languages to understand.  The code is also written to allow simple parameter changes and to create a new unique genesis block and hence a new blockchain.  if it was Satoshi's intention to limit others from creating their own coin/blockchain he would have done things very differently.

Cyrptocoins are about consensus, individuality, voice, and thinking for yourself.
689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [VOTE][SHA] SHACoin dev missing, whats our next move? on: April 04, 2014, 10:55:30 PM
I asked the current owner of shacoin.com whether he was willing to sell this domain. Here is his answer:

Yes, shacoin.com is for sale, as it's no longer needed.  I also have shacoin.net, so you might like to have the pair.
Price is USD1,000.00 each, or USD1,500.00 for the pair.  Or if you prefer, BTC2.5 and BTC3.75 respectively.

What do you think guys? Should we buy .com domain? Only .biz is currently available.

No. That's all we need to know. He's more interested in making a few k than fixing the problem. Fork this bitch.

the current official site for SHACoin is shacoin.co, and not shacoin.com.  they are two different owners.  we need to remember we don't know why the current dev of shacoin is missing from the community.  It could be due to personal reasons. And so we do need to give him a reasonable amount of time to respond before we start making accusations.

Take comfort though, SHACoin will grow with or without the current developer.

692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [VOTE][SHA] SHACoin dev missing, whats our next move? on: April 04, 2014, 02:24:06 PM
Since SHACoin reached POS it has been suffering client sync issues.  The community has called on the developer of SHACoin to fix the client. For whatever reason the developer seems to not be supporting their coin.  We have tried contacting the developer but they are not responding.

We believe SHACoin has great potential and the community has remained strong and rallied together to keep SHACoin moving.

One community member has kindly raised their hand to take over development of SHACoin and attempt to repair the wallet, which could result in a "Hard Fork".

Ultimately we would like to hear from the existing developer, and of course their view on all this.  It is not our intention to offend or upset them, and they may have very good reasons for not responding to the community, but we feel action needs to be taken now before SHACoin is lost.

head over to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=512808.0 to join in the discussion, or leave you views below. Voting will continue for 2 days.

anyone having sync issues now please try my settings above and report back.  adding the rpc and p2p ports, and increasing the maxconnections seems to be helping me.  I would like some feedback so i can keep trawling through the code and debug file.

Does anyone here want to step up and take the lead on this so we are ready to go forward if the dev decides he wont? I would do it but I am no programmer.

I would love to take over development of this coin. I could also recompile the current windows wallet, but I do not think that will fix all the issues some people are having. My thought is that, we do the equivalent of a "hard fork". First I would notify all the current exchanges, and have them suspend trading. Second, we would pick a date, time, and block number. Third, I would recompile all the wallets with an enumerated version number, and I would set up my own seed node with the new wallet. Once that is done, everyone can download the new wallet and sync with the new node. I believe that would fix all of our current problems.

I do have some concerns though.
1) I do not want to offend or insult the current dev.
2) How do we determine if there is a general consensus to move forward with this?

Great to see someone putting their hand up.  You have my support and help 100%.

1) I have sent the existing developer an email today stating if he is no longer interested in developing the coin would he be happy to hand development to someone else. I will let you know if i get a response.

2) Just read through the last few pages.  There is a heavy consensus this is a great coin and the current dev is not supporting it.  I think you would have little trouble having the majority of community agreeing to a hard fork.

Backup wallet.dat, and delete everything, sync, copy the wallet.dat back, it works.

Hey guys, think I may be onto something.

try the following in your shacoin.conf file:

Code:
listen=1
server=1
daemon=1
maxconnections=500
rpcuser=xxxxxx
rpcpassword=xxxxxx
rpcport=25655
port=25666
addnode=23.88.228.99
addnode=198.98.120.30

Let me know if this helps

can someone try these settings and report back

I think some desync issues appears in specific timeframes approx 2 am to 4am  GMT .

yes, it seems to be a node issue. Does anyone know how to create a new seed node?

We should set a deadline for the dev to respond to our problems. 3 days? 1 week?

It will have been just under a week if we don't hear from the developer in 3 days. Waiting any longer and the coin will be dead.

I have attempted to contact the SHAcoin developer today.  Fingers crossed we have SHAcoin heading in the right direction soon.

I will also contribute 10K SHA towards a bounty for someone to fix wallet.

The worst part of this coin is the Dev. This coin needs to be taken by professional team. Any suggestions?
So would the dev have to just have to give up the code? How would this go?

@BryceWeiner on twitter... petrodollar dev.

The source is available on github, check the OP.  Everyone in the community, users, pools, exchanges would just need to run the updated client.

Its obvious  the community around this coin want it to more forward.  In fairness to the dev we should give him the opportunity to respond to the community outcry.

So, dev, if your reading this can you please respond.  Will you continue to develop this coin, or do we seek a new developer?
