Half the fun is in setting it all up and tweaking  Cheesy
702  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How can I run my miner while playing games on: June 01, 2011, 08:21:48 PM
I've recently stopped playing games (I have over 150 games on my steam list) because I realised for every second my miner isn't running, I am not earning BTC.  Cheesy Cheesy

OH BITCOIN, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?
703  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 6990 temperature 100 on: June 01, 2011, 08:19:47 PM
Smiley still working, now stable 82 at 600mhz, to wich value should i downclock the memory?
See if you can go down to 300, though I hear from some people 6xxx series isnt stable that low, but its worth a try.
704  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [~1600 Gh/s Mining Pool] _0% FEE_, instant payouts,LP,+1% for NO INVALID BLOCKS on: June 01, 2011, 08:10:43 PM
Hello-

Fairly generic question.

I constantly am running around 750M/H

I am sure there is a simple explanation for this but, how come when i view my account it usually says my average is significantly lower (589 M/H) or significantly higher (up to 818M/H), why is this?

Thank you so much for the time.
It is an estimate based on the shares you submit over the time you configured.
Nothing to worry about.
705  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Cooperative mining (640Ghash/s) on: June 01, 2011, 08:08:34 PM
Hi everyone,

I got an e-mail indicating that I was paid out by slush's pool about an hour ago, but nothing has shown up in my Bitcoin client.

I did however notice this warning in my Bitcoin client:

WARNING: Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade.

I have the latest version of the application for Windows (0.3.21).. any insights?
Be patient, also make sure your blockchain is fully downloaded in your bitcoin client.
It will come through, dont panic, you can check its progress on this site: http://bitcoincharts.com/bitcoin/ ... It is probably just a very low priority transaction.

Sounds like you don't have enough space between the cards, not enough air flow in your case.
Add some more fans, space the cards, lower your memory clock and turn your fan speed up.

100C is far to hot and you probably have already caused damage.
707  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Any other tips for increasing mining speed on: June 01, 2011, 07:16:30 PM
Worksize 256 has always given me better performance with my 5870s.

Whats the latest address one should use to connect miners?
pit.deepbit.net
or deepbit.net
There seems to be conflicting address's on the site.

thanks

I would really like to see pools share block fees among miners at some point.

I know fees are small at the moment, but maybe something to think about for the near future?
710  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 6870 often gets stuck in some kind of low speed mode on: June 01, 2011, 03:23:25 PM
Firstly I would check your temps and make sure they are not too hot causing your card to throttle down.
Secondly I would disable hardware acceleration for flash player, (right click any flash video -> settings & un-tick enable hardware acceleration)
711  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Has my 5870 had it? help! on: June 01, 2011, 12:26:29 AM
How long had you been running it? And did you monitor the VDDC temps with a probe?
712  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Radeon 5870 for $312 -- Need opinions please on: May 31, 2011, 09:34:43 PM
Seems overpriced and risky.
713  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5870 Users! Clock Speed, Memory, Voltage, SDK and CCC Version, Flags, etc. on: May 31, 2011, 09:22:43 PM
Anyone else have a Gigabyte GV-R587UD-1GD?  I've only managed to get keep it stable at 950mhz clock, and it appears that other 5870's have been able to go considerably higher.  I think it could go higher if I could increase the voltage a bit but I haven't found a software yet that will do it and I don't want to tinker with the BIOS unless someone else has had success.  Just wondering if anyone has gone higher on that card and what suggestions/settings they might have.
I have an xfx 5870 that wont go stable above 940 in linux, I have flashed the bios with RBE but the voltage control table is missing all of its information and I cannot figure out how to increase it to make it stable.
I have a sapphire version also that goes right up to 985 stable without having to modify the bios.

Very strange  Huh
714  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5870 worker question, also pps/proportional on: May 31, 2011, 02:57:44 PM
Why would you lower your clock more then 300?
I heard from many people that 300 is the idle state and any lower causes damage.  Huh
715  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Running ATI Bios Editor through WINE, Ubuntu 11.04 on: May 31, 2011, 02:37:07 PM
I had to use "winetricks vb6run" with wine 1.3 last night, ubuntu 11.04
716  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Hidden web miners are ruining my life. on: May 31, 2011, 02:20:45 PM
I honestly didn't think it would anger people this much. I got an email earlier from who I assume is the OP complaining about the CPU usage. It was the first message I have gotten bringing it up but I don't want to risk pissing any more people off so it is gone. Without your reputation you are nothing.

That email wasn't from me, but thank you for removing the miner from your website, hopefully more people do the same  Smiley

I'm serious, who the hell decided it would be a good idea to embed hidden miners on every other bitcoin related web site?

You are causing visitors to leave your site and never return. Not to mention stealing their CPU power and electricity, or the increased risk of causing a fire, killing their cat & children.

Can anything be done against this monstrosity?

Got proof?

http://www.bitbid.net for one.

Is this REALLY what BitCoin is about?

720  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BTCMine - mining pool (zero fee, long polling, SSL, JSON API) on: May 30, 2011, 11:40:10 AM
Does BTCMine accept payouts to Mybitcoin.com address's?
Can someone confirm please.

Thanks.
