Also for security reasons change your password on slush's pool. It looks like you entered your username and password into your miner which is sent plain text across your network.

The UK server isn't showing shares or rewards for blocks again.
Hope its just a front end issue because we just got lucky with a nice few rounds.
623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DWOLLA Error in my Favor? on: June 29, 2011, 02:10:21 AM
so a few days ago i create a Dwolla account and successfully withdraw funds from my checking to buy some BTC on The Hill. Come to find out Today after using the money i had already transferred to The Hill (to buy some bitcoins at $17 a pop) I could not login to my Dwolla account.  first thing i think is "damn, someone hacked my dwolla acct.", and was going to use it to withdraw funds from my bank. So i check my email and come to find out that my Dwolla account has been deactivated.   (How Convenient after i just purchased a bunch of Bitcoins at $17 each).  So i call up Dwolla and then find out the checking acct # they have on file is not the same as the one i gave them initially.  I check my bank statement online and there is no record of a withdraw transaction to dwolla even taking place!   Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

update:  my Dwolla acct. has just been reactivated!
As soon as you add the correct funding methods to your recently reactivated account I am pretty sure they will automatically take the funds out that are due from before on that account.
624  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Radeonvolt - HD5850 reference voltage tweaking and VRM temp. display for Linux on: June 29, 2011, 01:37:30 AM
Is there any way to get this working with non ref v1.1 xfx 5870's?
I can view all the information through cpu-z on windows so hopefully its doable.

I'm just desperate to view VRM temps of my cards, couldn't care less about the voltage mod at this point tbh.

There's a spot in the code you need to change to have it match your H/W.

Search in radeonvolt.c for a line that looks like this:

Code:

        for(dev = pci->devices; dev && num_cards < MAX_CARDS; dev = dev->next) {
                if(
                    dev->device_class==PCI_CLASS_DISPLAY_VGA    &&
                    dev->vendor_id == 0x1002                               &&
                    dev->device_id == 0x6899
                )

and feed it the right values (or just plain old comment out
the lines that restrict on vendor_id and device_id).

Awesome, thank you!

I took a few more checks out that restricted me just to see what would happen, not sure if this is a good sign or not.

UK servers aren't showing share stats on the front end. We are getting credit & total shares show on the block stats page.

I don't mean to be that guy but this has been the case with EVERY new server added recently... maybe its time for a check list  Cheesy

Yes dude, sorry to say it but I think you fried your 5870.. 1.3v @ 85c gpu core temp means your vrm/vddc/shader temps were possible over 100C
I did the same to a sapphire vaporx 5870, got it to 1.33v 1000/350 and it was sitting perfect @ 74C for about 2 weeks then it just died.

By the way, I dont think running the fans at 100% will cause them to fail so soon. Unless someone can provide good statistics write ups or reviews..
But I have been running 100% fan for almost 5 months now and no issues, just turn the pc off every 2 weeks to clean the fans from dust etc.

I got ~10mhs increase on my 5870's and surprisingly my stale rate actually is a LOT LOT lower then before the mod.

I will certainly be donating as soon as I have some cleared funds bitless, thank you so much for your hard work and I look forward to your next modification you speak of previously. (Do you have any more details on that atm?)

Just tried this on my quad 5870 setup on ubuntu 11.04 using CC 11.5, SDK 2.1, using phoenix and poclbm + the 3% boost from http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=22965.0
my hash rate went from 428.57 down to 426.26
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is what reddit thinks of bitcoin on: June 26, 2011, 08:30:40 AM
At the time of posting this 3 upvotes, 7 downvotes. Plus every comment in the post has been downvoted. Telling me that the smarter people are going to downvote my whole thread and everyones comments so they can post and upvote themselves using fake accounts. Can't say I'm surprised this got messy. Can't say I'm not amused either. So basically I'm giving away 1 bitcoin to the biggest scumbag. Whatever, lesson learned. It was worth it. I honestly had more respect for people. Egg on my face.

Either way I figured you guys would get a kick out of it. Notice the disgust and rage. People don't like bitcoin. I know posting this here will greatly fuck with my experiment. But for some reason I want to. Maybe I'm hoping you guys will flock to it in masses and upvote it, but that's stupid. However if that's how it happens then I'd rather one of you get it. And not some dipshit as a collective joke.

Reddit is a funny place, you definitely need to brush up on your http://www.reddit.com/help/reddiquette . I'm surprised you got away with it so lightly.
634  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: hey miners whats your price to dump a large ammout of BTC on market ? on: June 26, 2011, 05:59:51 AM
Bitcoins are too cheap, its scary how low some people are willing to sell when you take a step away from the exchange for a few days.
I'm buying all I can afford in anticipation for BTC to hit around $50 then by which time, hopefully, bitcoin will be more widely used & I will be able to exchange my bitcoins for useful services.

Glad no ones talking time frames here  Cool

636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally, a Simple-For-Grandma Hacker-Proof Wallet on: June 24, 2011, 02:19:29 PM
interesting concept. a bank of sorts. i wish you the best of luck in this complex business.

I'm not storing any balances or handling any funds - I am printing randomly generated numbers on paper, mailing them out, and forgetting about them, promising not to keep a copy.  Once I send out a sheet, it's completely out of my hands.

We're to trust you not to keep them? Nope, not going to happen. No one in their right mind would trust an unknown 3rd party with full access. No offense, but this seems like a clear money-grab since the keys are a one-time use. Furthermore, this concept is not simple-for-grandma. A grandma isn't going to know what a private key is, how to use BlockExplorer, or know how to spend the money.
Or the modified bitcoin client.
Just seems like a half baked idea stolen from bitbills.

What I want to know is, does MT Gox plan on refunding our money? (20BTC of mine was taken just a couple of days ago - and I emailed him from the mtgox website well before this post ever appeared, but i haven't gotten any reply)
