701  Economy / Speculation / Re: Losing faith on: October 17, 2014, 04:17:24 PM
You're confusing tanking price with death of Bitcoin.  Bitcoin won't die as long as there are a couple of netbooks mining it.  Even if the coins mined are worth exactly zero.

As long as people believe in it, it won't die.

Seems like BK is busy  Sad Angry Cool
Last Active: October 06, 2014, 11:21:51 PM

Yeah its been about a week or two, lets do a community takeover?

I heard POS will not happen, so BK is going to pay Bryce Wiener to make a new coin. I would sell now.

Any sources?? or you're just telling this to drop the price and buy more?
703  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: MintPal / Moolah Scam - 412 BTC Reported Missing So Far on: October 17, 2014, 03:09:59 AM
No problems here:
coins - SYS, 250k, survived all transistions, withdrawn ok just today.
balance - was always correct
missing account - no
reply to ticket - no

Same for me, Balance was ok, could withdraw all my coins except BTC.
704  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [VTC] [VERT] ThisIsVtc.com Announcing the Vert Community Alliance on: October 17, 2014, 03:07:18 AM
VTC is more and more popular now.  Grin

Rumor has it that VTC sold out at the Hashers United conference to GAWminers.  GAW and VTC worked out an algorithm that will only allow GAW ASICs to mine it and will result in pushing all the GPU miners out of the coin.

Any sources? easy to spread FUD
705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Keeping your butts safe on: October 17, 2014, 02:00:55 AM
I have two offline wallets that split my BTC between the two. If something happens to one, I don't lose them all.

I have my public addresses as 'watch only' so I can monitor the balances.

I have my private keys stamped into metal that won't melt if the house burned down.

AND I have paper copies in another location, split up so you need both parts to complete the key.

I'm HODLing long term, so I wanted to be safe.

This is one of the best option you can have to keep your BTCs safe
706  Economy / Speculation / Re: Losing faith on: October 17, 2014, 01:58:26 AM
The most important thing right now about BTC, is its FIAT value. If you want it to have a more stable price, it have to be widely use. When people will stop to compare BTC to FIAT. We'll see less drop like that.
707  Economy / Economics / Re: Will bitcoin survive the impending financial crash? on: October 17, 2014, 01:34:57 AM
if it is more widely use, it might survive and benefit from a crash.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Moolah/Mintpal V2.0 Scam Thread on: October 17, 2014, 01:04:57 AM
Has anyone got btc yet?

For BTC: undergoing a rebuild / reindex. Withdrawals will be processed once complete.
709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | funding science education, research, & development on: October 16, 2014, 10:25:42 PM
if you have funds stuck at Mintpal please be aware that they have opened a window for making withdrawals again, you might want to withdraw all of your funds, btc, emc2, etc ... I don't know how long this window will remain open, I do know some people have received some funds (most not 100% of their balance).  good luck

Withdrawals are done for EMC2 so those that don't want to let their coins on the site you can withdraw without any problem. Only BTC seems to be stuck.

My withdrawal went through perfectly. It may be confusing because of the big text box below, but you don't need to put anything in there.
It IS confusing. Anyway the withdrawal is manual? I have requested it quite a bit ago

Took less than 3 hours for mine to go through
711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Moolah/Mintpal V2.0 Scam Thread on: October 16, 2014, 10:19:51 PM
Only waiting for BTC to be withdraw, received other coins.
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Moolah/Mintpal V2.0 Scam Thread on: October 14, 2014, 11:11:00 PM

With this news it seems like all funds are not lost but let's wait till people can get their coins back. The big question is why did moolah bought mintpal?

No no, you've had this wrong this entire time, moolah never owned mintpal they just 'managed' it.

They're trying to avoid any responsibility - good for them.

Shame they left some evidence suggesting conflicting information

exhibit one: https://twitter.com/moolah_io/status/497105451381960705

key word: acquisition

That's the big problem here, You don't only manage if you acquire.
http://blog.moolah.io/2014/07/28/were-taking-over-mintpal-heres-what-you-need-to-know/

So they didn't thought the problem inside mintpal were that big or they messed things up.

Qu'est-ce qui la rend si prometteuse?
717  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your current valuation of a bitcoin? on: October 14, 2014, 04:12:50 PM
My valuation would be more around 600-700$. Until Bitcoin isn't mass adopted it won't maintain an higher value.

719  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Journalists are shockingly dumb... on: October 13, 2014, 08:54:25 PM
On many topics, journalists don't research the info on the subject they're writing on. Some do a good jobs and some do a shitty one.
Let just hope that not many people use this article as a reference
