So if this keeps up I smell a class action law suit against Poloniex and EMC2.
Seriously? Whatever your smoking, I want some! Patience is a virtue, learn it. This has nothing to do with patience. This has everything to do with being shady. Neither Poloniex nor EMC2 has shown any bit of transparency during this fiasco. I've heard no official response from either. Instead, we have an exchange holding our money hostage without a peep out of them as to why. And EMC2 wont respond to emails to give their side of this either. So as an investor you have do all kinds of leg work to find out what the hell is going on. It would be nice if one of them would address their investors/customers and explain what the problem is. I guess we're all just supposed to trust them. As if the crypto market isn't shady at all and coins aren't delisted all the time for shady activity and people losing their money because of it. This screams shady and it's poor business. And one more reason why all cyrpto's and exchanges will be regulated very soon, to protect investors. Imagine if E-trade suddenly froze trading of Google and wouldn't allow people to withdraw their money and gave zero explanation for it. In fact if this happened to Bitcoin it would be all over the news but since no one knows EMC2 exists no one cares. And I guarantee investors would lose faith in both and both prices would plummet. The same answer was given on slack, reddit and facebook. The dev team is waiting for an answer from Poloniex to know what the problem is so they can solve it. The team can't give a clear answer if they don't know what the problem is. Open a ticket on poloniex and ask them to contact the dev team. The team openly speak about the future projects and what's being done. I don't know what more they can do. Bittrex problem was solve last week(had to test it to make sure it worked). The new wallet should be announced soon and you can see the github was updated: https://github.com/emc2foundationI've got some coin frozen on Polo too and was hoping to find some answers here.
I've been messing around with mining after a 4 year break and did a bit of EMC2 on pool.emc.foundation recently. One question I have is are the wormhole events truly random or is timing know by some in advance?
Last week, about an hour before the event, I noticed the main guy there ramp up his KH/s to 23-25x his normal level. It was an amazing increase to witness, I believe it was close to 31,000,000 Kh/s. At one point it appeared to me that his hashing was 90% of the total network because we were hitting blocks almost every minute. Then, about 45 minutes later the wormhole event started and the pool scored the first few wormhole blocks. Then as word got out and total network hash significantly increased, we dropped back to normal block rate.
Seemed to me that it was a lucky coincidence to significantly ramp up and dominate hash 45-60 minutes before the event, unless the time was already known. And I believe he had just met with the development group the week before, as evident by the group pictures a few threads back. Or maybe it's a different person. Anyways, maybe I'm wrong on this account and I apologize if so, but the coincidence shook my faith in 'transparency' of this coin and now the freeze at Polo - it just reinforces that the small guys usually get the short end of the stick.
Other members can explain it better but it's not completely random. People can determine the start of the next wormhole. On Bittex the wallet is now blocked and they are speaking of a double spend attack and they are trying to sort it out with the devs.
The team contacted them with the updated code. This notice should be removed soon.

This silence is not so nice. Why has it be frozen on Polo for a few days already?
We answered a lot of questions about Polo, we're waiting for an answer about the reason why they froze EMC2. Bittrex problem is solved with the new release(in beta). If a problem happen, the team work to solve it.

I ran across this coin in the course of research. It's growth has been quite impressive. Where most coins got a surge from the influx of newcomers, then started to trend downward, this has continued to grow, so I came to see what's responsible for this continued growth and now I'm just confused... While the premise is nice, the marketing, website and complete lack of documentation regarding funding of scientific pursuits (who have received grants and for how much) along with successful double spend attack and the internet sissy fight between what to be EMC2 and some dude named Michael in the thread makes this project seem unprofessional and scammy. I'm not saying it IS scammy by any means, it just appears to be more of a nice way for the owner to get some $$$ when there's no documentation of investment into scientific pursuits of others. Particularly when I read "grants" in the explanation. In the end, you could simply create shell co's, "invest" in those companies, then say that they never produced results. There's also no stipulation regarding what scientific field(s) you are interested in funding. These seem like the basics for a foundation that's actively funding. Most organizations like this also have a ton of blog entries about the companies they're funding and updates on progress. Additionally, I'm confused about the forking discussion... Is this happening? If so, then why? Will there be documentation of any companies funded and how much funding they're receiving? I expected to find this in the "science blog" section on your site ( https://www.emc2.foundation/science-blog/ ) but as you can see, it's just pictures of people at some science rally... One post, reposting pictures. I'd love to invest long term in projects that are beneficial, but until the above things happen, I'm probably just going to daytrade the shit out of this coin until it ceases to be profitable, but as it stands I don't feel like it's a coin I want to have a balance of for more than 24 hours at a time. About funded projects: The original team funded 2 projects for a total amount of 3300$ The current team only funded projects was Dr.Havekes project: https://www.emc2.foundation/past-campaign/https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/science-study-memory-loss-dueto-sleep-deprivation#/https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=7&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjMjNuh99fUAhXC4D4KHS-IC-wQtwIIUDAG&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DFHqitI1Kues&usg=AFQjCNEgiyZulBRy8NauYBol4yaU-EGL0wNo forking will happen Right now, no project are being funded. We are working on the creation of a new platform and new way to use EMC2 The future projects funded will be well documented, with the crowdfunding platform You do want you want with you money, if you really want to invest in a coin. Read more than the last 3 pages of a thread

5. i would like to join the network and mine blocks. but nobody helps me to create blocks ( see last posts here, the daemon rejects als my created block - maybe a problem with charity integration.. maybe something even more complicated.. ). i joined now slack, maybe this hepls..
so i got it running. if you upgrade to the new client from may, you should delete all your files ( except wallet.dat ) and re-download the blockchain. then you have to make sure, that first output of coinbase transaction goes to charity script. thanks to @djnocide @hashunlimited @pericanikolic We're here to help those that have questions

The project is claiming to target the funding of scientific projects. To do so, they are claiming 2.5% of the total coin supply, those funds are kept by a natural person rather than an escrow - I am the one keeping the Einsteinium foundation funds, i've been put in charge when the old team left the coin. A multisig wallet is the way to go but with 800k tx to deal with, we'll need to find a way to lower those tx before including a multisig. According to the project description, 0.5% are reserved for daily costs, but 90% have been spent so far without public knowledge of the whereabouts -Need some precision on where you take this 90%. Is it from the the 0,5% or from the total amount in the wallet? Even when we funded Dr.Havekes project, most of the funding from EMC2 was from our own pockets not the funds wallet. Big accusation you're making there. The actual node code is not matching the propagated specifications in terms of block halving and total coin supply -The code need to be update, you know that. We're working on it. You know really well that the original code had many flaws. It can't be resolve in one update and in a week. Any development, if there is any, is done in a hidden manner. Open Source Repositories do not show any public development branches. -You know really well that EMC2 code is 3 years old and a lot of work has to be done to make it up-to-date. It can't be rushed, when the code will be ready, it'll be available. Do you know a lot of projects that make available their test code to anyone? The work is done in private then make public when ready to release or in Beta. Bug fixing, if there is any, (and as we know the current nodes contain some issues) is done privately as well -We welcome anyone who wish to work with us to join the team. Making bugs public isn't the best way to secure the network and the money of everyone involve. Some drafts of websites presented to community channels so far did only contain a few headlines, no detailed information nor any functionality -Which websites are you talking about? The store, the platform or the foundation website? A cluster of test net servers including nodes provided by PM-Tech and dedicated to project development hasn't been used once -We're setting our own test net servers. Any other development or testing infrastructure is not known to PM-Tech nor to the public -Why should it be known to you? There are for sure some very talented volunteers to the project, but still there is no infrastructure (as mentioned by CWI crysx himself, currently they are not holding any SCRYPT mining power on their own) -There's still a lot to do to EMC2. The project got back on track when bluelab joined the team in december. In 6 months, you expected the team to create everything from 0? We welcome all the ideas from the community. We're a small team and you know that. For the segwit question: SegWit will be implemented in the new 0.13.3 Einsteinium core, because we are following the newest trends set by Bitcoin and Litecoin, but weather it will reach consensus it is up to the community of miners.

Hi all.. long time supporter here.. was quite surprised to see how well this coin is going.. just wanted to say:
Thanks for the the good work on reviving the coin and don't bother wasting your time feeding the trolls because they are only here to try and push the price down for their own financial gain..
and btw did you guys manage to get the EMC2 wallet back from the cryptsy class action? I saw that some of the communities got what was left of their coins back.
I found out too late to register for the class action..
I lost quite a few EMC2 that would be worth several thousand dollars by now.. (dw I was prepared to lose them that's why they were on a shitty exchange like crapsty)
I don't really mind if I don't get them back but it would be nice if they at least ended up in the hands of the foundation to be used for good works rather than in the hands of some crook or vulture opportunist..
Any news on that front?
Cheers
~Alphi
We didn't got any coins back from cryptsy Thanks for the support, lot of stuff coming in the next months

I'm a troll!!!
You're on you way of becoming a true troll. What fraudulent schemes? We refunded the amount bittrex lost in this single double-spend transactions that happened. If you want to know if the foundation is dumping, check the foundation address We've not been notified by Poloniex or Bittrex about delisting. We're staying on those exchanges. Only an update in the code will happen.

So someone has managed to carry out the successful Double-spending attack on EMC2 blockchain and even dump hacked coins on Bitterex. As the result, Bitterex shut down this coin. It means that EMC2 blockchain is unsafe!!! So this is F serious stuff it is actually even more serious than DAO scandal (when DAO tokens had been stolen and ETH was dumped as a result of that) as the next step the Hacker will dump its hacked (generated) EMC2 coins on Polo.
So this is pretty mutch the game over for EMC2 coin, the following de-listings from Bittrex and Poloniex are obvious. o yes - of course ... its game over ... and over and out ... the end for emc2 - the end for crypto - the end of the world as we know it ... seriously? ... thats why we are spending hours on hours and effort and costs to rectify the bugs found and create a decent backend and infrastructure and ... and ... and ... holy crap the garbage that comes out - just to push a panic sell off ... when you all KNOW that WE are on the case - and aware of the issues and are RECTIFYING whatever issues we find ... which includes keeping a good solid communication with bittrex and any other exchange for that matter - over ANY issue we may come across ... are people that desperate for emc2 that they need scare tactics for others to dump and you buy? ... DAMN! - we MUST be important if you are going to those sorts of lengths to get emc2 ... sheesh! ... #crysx It's a "good" sign when trolls shows up in a thread trying to push the price down.

Hey guys,
I have weird stuff going on with my wallet:
I sent coins but there is no confirmations from the wallet (last version of wallet fully synched) and no pending transactions on the exchange where I sent the coins.
Now my balance shows as 0 Emc2, I checked on the block explorer and it says I still have the coins in the wallet, the txid of the withdraw doesn't even exist.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks so much in advance
Hey guys! My problem is still on, and I would really appreciate some help! I have the latest wallet, fully synced. I sent 3 EMC to the same address to make sure everything was fine, and they arrived and got confirmed on both ends. After that I sent 47000 EMC to the same address, nothing arrived, and the tx has 0 confirmation after 48h. Now my wallet shows 0 balance, and the Txid doesn't "exist" in the block explorer. Even weirder, my EMC address shows a positive balance in the blockchain and shows the 3EMC tx that I sent as a test as 50 EMC. What is going on ? I have had like 20 different Qt wallets for different coins, I have never seen that. Finally, I can't do "-repairwallet" or "-rescan" like this in the debug log, those commands don't work and don't even show up in the help section of the debug log. Please help if you can! Thanks! TXid that went wrong : c0e48893e3532a3556247ca122274eca1ea51ca4bd2bda2b295e7ceb9120013f Address of my wallet (showing positive balance and the weird 50 EMC sent instead of 3): EM88G2XwaneSRgUyxMXYfL4JuUEfbTH9yU For the -rescan: right-click on the wallet select properties in the target line at the end of if, add -rescan click "apply" restart your wallet That's how i've make it work in the past

Oh really? i am here me And my axe! And me!

Value halved in the last 10days, now is a good time to buy some more emc2 before another rise. Just thinking out loud now, but would be really cool to be able to buy some lab equipment with emc2 Working on it

Nice to see that this coin is improving and increasing in value My 0.5btc is currently at 1.7btc, so nice profit in a short time Where can donations be sent to the crew in btc? Kind Regards We haven't had a BTC donation address for a while. However, if you are feeling generous, I'm sure DJnocide can cook one up pronto on Poloniex. Great job on the trade Ask him to cook something up and i will give some donations over time But only in btc, i rather keep my emc2 coins Here's an address: 1EGfNXBD3wYVbyZT7qnYG54CBjdCDy9xbt reserved for the Einsteinium Foundation. Cooking address is not that bad but you don't want me to cook food. Small donation sent, will keep sending each time i sell off some of my emc2 coins. Hehe, that's why we have girlfriends mate I confirmed that it was received, the team appreciate this donation. Good to hear. Is that adress still valid for future donations? Yes
