I noticed they added bulk orders to their store - you can order a 60 pack (or a pallet, which is the same quantity but a higher price?!), but not a single miner.

Saw that earlier I think it's to ease the larger order people so they get their own pallet ordered just for them
And your math is flawed, it's cheaper. 43,000 for 60 units is something like 716 each unit

The pallet has power and controllers

@flameruk.   I'm 500 ahead of you, no. But it's night now there and they are closed. Plus its the weekend so I'm not sure if they will be open till Monday their time

Ah, didn't notice the PSU was included in the pallet option.

I How long do you think shipment of these takes?

My order from early august (8/4) shipped on 8/26, and arrived today in CA.

Does anybody got the BTC-Payment Informations yet? I now got twice the "Which payment option will you use?" Emails.. but no BTC-Adress ..

They're slammed with orders and seem to hand generate each BTC address (ie: its not automated.) It took several weeks to get an address with the last round of orders.
725  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: August 31, 2017, 02:40:30 AM
Last time there was a flood of orders like this, it took weeks and weeks to get a BTC payment address. I expect a similar experience this time too.
726  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Slient hardware (Stickminers) on: August 31, 2017, 02:28:25 AM
Thanks my friends for your comments and replies I realy apreciate it.

Based on your experience,
What is the average of profits using 2 Stickminers
example: GekkoScience 2Pac BM1384
for 1 month, excluding the power ?

Thanks.

You will get around $1 USD (0.00025481 BTC) a month not counting power. This is not a device you buy for profits, more for lottery mining or learning about it.

Which power USB hubs do you use with Raspberry PI 3 and the Gekko 2Pac?

I use the pluggable one:

There's a big thread about which USB hub to use:

S7-LN is probably going to be more reliable than an R4 also. Their bundled PSUs are kinda cheap, but I haven't heard any failure issues with the miner itself and almost nothing but failure issues with the R4.

Pretty great that the S7-LN sold for around $400 new shipped a year ago. I tried working out a deal with a guy a year ago to buy up retired S7s for around $300 and undervolt them but it didn't seem feasible. What are they selling for now?

I'm seeing $500 - $800 on eBay/Amazon for an S7-LN, with the price increasing the in the last few weeks.

Can't wait for your new miner for Christmas, I'm sure you'll be hit with a ton of orders.

You can't mine bitcoin directly with graphics cards.
731  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: August 30, 2017, 12:32:44 PM
is this miner better than Antminer S9? I mean quality price what is your opinion??

If you can get an S9 at retail prices, it'll hash faster for a little more price. Since they're constantly sold out and marked up, this is a better deal.

See the reply here:

Only Sidehack is still making USB stick miners with modern chips. You'll probably pay between $75 - $100 for one from a reseller. It'll get around 15gh/s. If you want the equivalent of an Avalon, you'll need about 45 of them.

Another option is to get an R4 from Bitmain - this is relatively silent, but hard to find and more expensive. Expect around 7.5 TH/s  Between $3,000 - $4,000 on eBay.

Finally, you could get an S7LN from Bitmain. That'll be less powerful, but it can be undervolted to run almost silent as well. It'll only pull 2 or so TH/s. I've seen them as low as $500 on eBay, but with the upwards price they're getting to be around $800.

If you are price sensitive, you want the most dollars per TH/s.

733  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Ebit e9 miner with 6.8Th/s from Ebang company a new rival for existing producers on: August 30, 2017, 12:08:32 PM
When I ordered, they never sent me my tracking number, but FedEx Delivery Manager automatically alerts me when I have a package coming. I get a notification from them far before I get a shipped status from most retailers.
734  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: USB ASIC Miners on: August 30, 2017, 12:07:21 PM
You basically have one choice: The Gekkoscience 2Pac stick. Its only sold through resellers right now, so that's Amazon or eBay.

This is your best bang for your buck as far USB mining goes.

You can also get very old and used options, but they won't come close to the performance of the 2Pac.
735  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: When will new orders be accepted for Avalon 741's? on: August 29, 2017, 12:59:08 AM
I assume China time zone. Anyone know how they accept payment?

Wire transfer or BTC is how they accepted it a few weeks back.
736  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon A7 announced on: August 28, 2017, 01:33:46 PM

Thanks for the reply. I went back the last 15 pages or so to try and get a good idea about running these units, and definitely understand their supply and demand issues. I'm not worried about getting my units especially after reading the posts from their Rep/VP/helping hand Steven. I just wanted to see if there are any options apart from BTC or USD wire transfer available for payment. Either way I'll make sure I'm ready to go, no matter what it will be better than trying the lottery of catching Bitmains sale and hoping the hardware lasts.

They just take BTC or wire transfer. No other payment methods.

They dont take wire transfer for less then 60 units. I had 10 on order and went somewhere else because BTC was only option

Weird - I bought 1 unit from them and they sent me the wire transfer option as a default. I wanted to pay in BTC though, so I guess I never tested it.
737  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Blockchain development on: August 27, 2017, 07:51:32 PM
Hi! I'm a beginner, so my question can be stupid for a veteran, but I'd like to ask: I read about the utilization of blockhain and decentralized databases in many field of application, far from cryptocurrency, just like IoT communication or data storage. How this can be possible?

A blockchain is built around the idea of trustless consensus.

In IoT, you have potentially millions of nodes connected, but you don't know if they're all playing by the same rules or have the same objectives. A blockchain would allow these devices to synchronize around a common set of rules. This works especially well if the devices are made from different vendors, since they don't have to trust each other, just that the consensus rules are well implemented.

Transfer of money is one proven use of a blockchain, but in theory you can use it to implement any set of rules that require a database and coordination of that database across the network.

738  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: How do you conceal your operation? on: August 27, 2017, 05:41:20 PM
Mining setup generates a lot of noise. How do you hide it from neighbours?  I don't want them to run to the tax authorities... especially considering latest moves on bitcoin taxation in the EU.
If there is need to conceal that implies you are doing something illegal. Pay your taxes and problem solved...

Plus, if you run your miners as a business and report that income as business income, you can deduct their cost + power from your normal taxes. (I do this through a single member LLC)

Talk to your accountant for your situation, of course.
