@ Prominerone: Yes! Buy directly from miners (on Un-Ex). Ian and I have been trying to set this up for well over a year. (But we have failed because Australia is a strange case: high electricity costs means people who are mining are HODLing.

And 'special price for miners' is a premium. Bring it on! (especially if we can buy that coin directly in the local fiat!)
I'd be in for buying direct from miners as well at a premium.

@prominerone, do you have a group of contacts who are mining $UNO?
722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 10, 2015, 09:34:25 PM
@balu2

You're crazy!  But in the good way.  Aim for the stars and land on the moon.  (or something like that)

How about in less than 700 days UNO passes BTC in price/unit?

Quote
"... Today Gavin posted on his personal blog an article titled "Looking before the Scaling Up Leap", stating "My goal is to prove that it is safe to raise the maximum block size from 1MB to at least 20MB" along with "I'll argue we should schedule a hard fork." Reddit soon blindly praised Gavin for his work, with comments such as "Fork it hard."
https://blog.bitcoinfoundation.org/a-scalability-roadmap/

It appears as if Gavin will not give up unless his hard fork is a reality, and thus Mircea Popescu has made a declaration of war if Gavin proceeds with his plans. ...http://trilema.com/2015/if-you-go-on-a-bitcoin-fork-irrespective-which-scammer-proposes-it-you-will-lose-your-bitcoins/"

Get the popcorn, the show is about to start.
I'm pretty sure the show is gonna result in good things for $UNO! Let the buying / transition from BTC to $UNO begin!

Bitcoin is an experiment. Any flaw discovered now will surely be corrected in next generation coin.
It already has, if you have time, please check out Unobtanium. No inflation!

Thanks!

The risk of loss at cryptos 'points of centralisation' is what makes the p2p development of exchange, development and trade so vitally important. I was overviewing my 2014 losses to exchange 'glitches' and outright scams and its not a fun figure.
I have not experienced these heart-breaking losses as I have been afraid to keep much coin on any exchange. I am sorry for everyone's losses and hope that there are less scams in the future!

On a side note, an excellent article about another real-life currency experiment currently going on in Zimbabwe where hyperinflation reigned supreme not too long ago:

What's more, the Cryptsy wallet dropped again...now under 47K. I wonder if we killed all the small wallets and now all withdrawals are done out of the big fella?

That wallet is the only unknown in the Unoverse. It's a great feeling to begin chipping away at it!
726  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 09, 2015, 02:57:15 PM
2. The future value of the UNO you mine will be significantly worth more in the future.

This argument worries me. I don't think its valid.

I totally feel ya on this. It is speculation. We all "know" Uno is going to do alright. Maybe the world turns to crap though and everyone nukes everyone. It is hard to say if that would be a +/- for Uno. That argument doesn't fly when trying to convince others of the reasons why they might wanna mine Uno.
I don't think that the argument is invalid, I just don't think it's the whole thing. It's just another arrow in a quiver of many arrows such as:

-Mature, thoughtful and civil community as an asset
-Vibrant discussions
-Devs still around
-UNO-EX
-Crypto mall world
-No inflation
-Steady rise in value
-Numerous other items...

A bit of good news, the Cryptsy wallet got drained of another 800 or so $UNO

47,323.2 UNO   24.51 %
728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bittrex on: January 09, 2015, 01:04:55 AM
Hey guys, Bittrex could use some attention.

There's good orders on the buy side, but a very weak sell side.

Doesn't anybody want to sell a little UNO??  Man alive, this not a problem very many cryptos face:  too many buyers, not enough sellers.
It's a uniquely Unobtanium problem. Smiley

Anyway, if you could spare a few to sell on Bittrex, we could really use it.

How about it "Mr. 688 Uno Wallet?" Can you take a little profit here?
I'm not Mr. 688, but I bought up enough $UNO to hit the daily minimum...
729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 08, 2015, 09:18:39 PM
we can still try to open backchannels to the devs and re explain the benefits of merging with uno

let's try our best now to get the small coins to auxpow with uno. That's a good thing and won't do any harm to anyone. I very much support that.
Has anyone attempted to contact Mazacoin about merge mining? That coin is supposed to be a sovereign currency for a North American Indian Tribe. A coin with actual transactional use could be a boon to work with.
730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 08, 2015, 05:19:39 PM
Did you know that with some radioactive elements the half life has been shown to REVERSE?

Just my noob thoughts!...0.00312...0.00625....0.1250...0.2500....
Isn't that just a function of hitting a denser portion of space-time?

Anyway, UNO's strict mining reward schedule is what gives it value.  It should never change.  There are plenty of us with old mining equipment that is obsolete.  If miners don't like the rewards, we'd be happy to all boot them up, again.  Smiley

-

@BN - No, no schedule shifting.  That's not what I've invested in when buying UNO.  That's a bait-n-switch scam.

-

I'm not Bearwhale nor Potato Trader, but I have reduced my holdings in the past because I didn't like the way the conversation was going on here.  -And made a profit doing so!  (Same when I needed to pay rent and I could tell you guys were being cheap bastards and not supporting the price in a developing bear market....)

-

I agree with smalltimer - the best solution is to buy up UNO to raise the price.  Maybe attract new investors.  I'm aware the culture around here is to be relatively hush about the great thing UNO is, because we all want to buy up more cheap UNO.  It's just the way we are and human nature.  I get it.

Well, that retards hash, now, doesn't it?

The same 0.1 BTC you have for purchasing this month can buy UNO at 0.008 UNO/BTC or at 0.03 UNO/BTC.  Yes, you get a fraction of what you otherwise would have, but your hodlings are priceless, and you get a fortune when you do dribble-sell!

Don't change UNO, change yourself.  ~Oh!
I completely agree with Benefactor. If we change the mining schedule the coin's credibility just got flushed down the toilet. PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE IT!

I hold a nice position in the coin and have been adding over time regardless of the price and will continue to do so. I prefer a strategy of making the mining more attractive by having the price go up as opposed to changing the rewards.

As for merge mining, it seems ZET and XJO communities are against the merge mining, although I really can't tell why. It really seems like it would draw good attention to them from being aligned with $UNO?

I have not seen any public comments from blazr2 or Mr. Weiner about the merge mining. FK, have you heard anything?

Yeah, I've seen us hover in that vicinity for a few days. Just wish our market caps were the same, not the price of each coin!  Wink

Post 989:

"DVC: please see verification photos for 4oz silver, pledged to back 2x DVC total.
Photo 1
Photo 2
Thanks, -Craig."

Someone please check these two photos, and post, 'Aye.'

That will put one more DVC into the pot. Prominerone should get his today.

That's a really great tool! I agree tho, who keeps 600+ $UNO on an exchange?  Huh
739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [UNO] Unobtanium Info & Discussion - Current wallet 0.9.5 on: January 04, 2015, 11:34:21 PM
we need more fiat-exchanges , i don't want to trade against bitcoin much longer.
I agree, if you are interested at such a trade, let us know what nation were in, you may be able to trade directly with someone. Make an offer on UNO-EX. I've traded via mail using money orders, prepaid cards, etc. I am currently in the US.

Absolutely, Benefactor launched into a little side talk in the main thread about Greece leaving the Euro. What does anyone think will happen with the Euro when that happens?  To me, it looks like the first crack in the dam that will let a lot of water out...
