Sustainable Solution is PROG PoW algorithm. Against ASIC's -AND- FPGA's. It renders ASIC's and FPGA's to only be approximately 1.1 to 1.0 or 1.2 to 1.0 better than GPU's in power efficiency and hash rate.
I'm not so deep in this, but I know if this is feasible, Team will take this in consideration. On the other hand I must stress this again, we are not sure what problems that can cause with zkSNARKs so we just cant rush into something without testing. Again, please join discord channel, you can have direct contact with developers and you can get more accurate informations if this can be or cannot be done, and enjoy discussion on this topic with others. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

well done with the color red, it gives you credibility ! ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) ![Lips sealed](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/lipsrsealed.gif) Well, red letters should be used only if there is an danger, else they should be avoided, they are not pleasant for eyes. ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif)

hello I think yesterday I lost 1 zen but I don't really understand why. I have an old zen node with 1 Zen on the shielded adresse. because now you just need 0.05 zen, I tried to send about 0.95 zen on my ledger nano S (using the chrome app) As a lazy asshole, instead of creating a new address, to my wallet, I just looked at the last transaction that went in and took the destination address : https://explorer.zensystem.io/address/znf5bszuBwfU2AWaTTeBVYLdFGD2zDQkmPnso I sent my zen on this address. i don't know what this address is but apparently it automatically send away the zen to stay at 0 balance... the transactions appears anywhere and my zen seems to go from addresses to addresses, ssent automattically as it arrived. All transparent addresses. Where the fuck did I sent my zen on?! thx Please open your ticket and support will help you in no time. https://zenhelp.zencash.com

Other day there was a farm with over 22,000,000,000 Kh/s, yes the number is correct. Half of the mining power at Suprnova that day. Made a calculation and was about 2200 units of Z9 mini units mining...
It was a speculator and was mining almost 6000 Zen/day.
very sad... i hop that each day is passing it will not be a nail in the zen community coffin....
Such numbers are indeed scaring. 2200 units of Z9 mini units mining is almost beyond imagination in this stage, and on the long run it will likely affect the community quite a lot. I think the team has to monitor the situation closely. This is what we know, but what about those experimental machines we are not aware that maybe can be customized for every single algo in existence with very small efforts and surprisingly fast..What if this is future, what then? Fork to different algo can be useless in this situation, so better to look for an sustainable solution instead. This can become our reallity very soon. This is my personal opinion. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

A very wise and balanced approach. It is good to have a team with an excellent grasp of the situation and responsive to the instances of the community. We are relying on community and all feedbacks are important for us. Thanks for support!

Medar,
Each day that goes by the ASICīs community that are mining Zencash has more mining power, it is not hard to see and feel if fork was voted by hashpower i think at this moment ASICīs will win. If the opinions/votes was - one man one vote, no matter what, i think GPU wins, hands down.
We also need to protect this project from 51% attacks in the future and some would say that this is priority especially if we are talking about adoptation which is crucial for the future of every project. Bingo! I recognized this as an issue after the 51% attacks happened. It really re-frames the whole GPU vs. ASIC debate. So ASIC (fewer miners) gives better protection vs 51% attacks than GPU? In a way it makes sense as getting ASIC in big quantity is harder than GPU at the moment. And if you use ASIC to burn the coin with 51% attack you got a bunch of useless boxes after, while with GPU you can just mine something else ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) Actually I'm not sure if you understood me, we are working on implementation of this protection, and we are not relingy on ASIC protection. Problem with wallet. ZENCashDesktopGUIWallet_0.83.0 , OS Windows 7 x64. Initially, the synchronization stopped. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi.piccy.info%2Fi9%2Fa09cde10c7e97a0a503ed95c61165537%2F1532453735%2F11423%2F1248046%2F240718_2_.jpg&t=663&c=abzT3TJlP1w7zg) Restarted the wallet, it does not start. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi.piccy.info%2Fi9%2F18cb1d58a43d25fcc566a4e830b0965c%2F1532453648%2F53074%2F1248046%2F240718_1_.jpg&t=663&c=LH7ijjyLVq07oA) I rebooted the computer, the router did not help. What's the problem, how to fix it? This kind of problem may have multiple causes but the most frequent one in practice is that zend fails to start properly. The latter is in turn most commonly caused by block-chain corruption. This could occur in rare cases when for instance machines are stopped due to power disruptions, while zend is writing data. The reason is usually that zend has not started properly and the GUI wallet cannot connect to it. As a start one may examine the zend logs to find the technical details of the problem. One way to fix this problem, that works in 90%+ of cases is to start zend manually with a -reindex option from a terminal and start the GUI wallet only after that. https://github.com/ZencashOfficial/zencash-swing-wallet-ui/blob/master/docs/TroubleshootingGuide.md
