721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the odds of guessing someone's private key or seedphrase? on: November 03, 2023, 10:50:45 PM
Bitcoin private keys uses SHA-256, which is the number 2 to the 256 power.

Where did you hear that? I hope your youtube video is not misinformed as you are, because sha256 has nothing to do with private keys. And if want to know how hard it is to "guess" or generate a key twice, considering your wallet is using standard implementation, you can write down 78 digits in decimal and see how hard it really could be.
Your number which you can pick, must not have first three digits greater than 115.  Because this is the limit, any number greater than this would be invalid:

723  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should Ratimov be in DT1? on: November 03, 2023, 10:01:44 PM
It is unlikely that there are cases when you are tagged for no reason,
Totally untrue, or at least you are unaware of the truth.
Recently 3 people left me 3 red tags for absolutely no "good" reason, and nobody said anything, and even if anyone said something, nobody else cared, but if I was a DT member, they wouldn't have dared to tag me.

This is unfortunately the case here, if OP wasn't a DT member, they wouldn't care to participate in this discussion, but guess what? Someone's reputation is important at least for themselves, DT or not, but everyone here only thinks about their benefit.

They might consider trust abusers feedbacks unfair, unjust, but they won't do anything about it, because they can't get anything from me in return. If OP wasn't DT, this would have happened to him as well.

Reputation here means power and money, nothing else.
When they start to feel their own power/money making opportunity is at risk, they will exclude Ratimov in a blink of an eye, otherwise forget it, because for how long people like him plus jellygood etc have been doing such blatant abuse? You don't see them excluded do you?

This is because these users are examples, indeed. They are also Merit Sources and (with few exceptions) DT1 users. And they act fair and decent.
Thanks for the joke OP.

Edit: @examplens, how familiar are you about my problem from 5 years ago? If you are not in the loop, don't judge.

Second edit: , responding to meow1 posted below, @meow1, keep laughing, just in case you haven't noticed, I need more unjust tags, to justify my motives when the time comes, dig faster.
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitget - Leading Digital Asset Trading Platform on: November 03, 2023, 08:22:35 PM
For a platform that apparently partners with famous football teams and even players, it is extremely inappropriate to hire cheap shills to spread the word about their services, it shows lack of dedication to build a good reputation, so I would like to ask for an explanation regarding this reputation thread here :
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5472656.0
If there is no one to explain this situation it is better to avoid using such services, because when you can't talk to them, why would you use their service? So if you got to know about them through bitcointalk, better to refrain using their services until they appoint a representative for this forum.
725  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: the dilemma of division in ECC-secp256k1 on: November 03, 2023, 04:49:16 PM
I suppose you already have the pubkey that corresponds "in theory" to this:

>>0.142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857
>>03611a3775ff4f3e5acf0c371b5abe17d8d57b398710bd8b102597f5732b69d485

so now without using the pubkey obtained previously (therein lies the problem), try to find the same pubkey from these decimals
Code:
0.142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857
either multiplying, dividing or both operations.
Of course, you gave me the script the first time, remember divide by range?
Here is what you want:

Can you imagine our forum p.h.D coming to such a board talking about biolabs and why Bitcoin is bad because it doesn't help to advance science bs? 😉
727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum Computers Can Not Defeat Bitcoin, not even The Bitcoin Network on: November 03, 2023, 03:35:49 PM
You don't need a quantum computer to break it, you just need a mathematical formula which could work for any number, and since private keys are numbers, finding such formula can solve any key by using even a mobile phone.

Humanity developing a quantum computer strong enough to break ECDSA seems far more likely than someone finding an effective alternative to Shor's algorithm for classical computing tho.
How can I explain this better? Let me use time and space.
With current technology, you can not achieve anything remotely close to 1% of the speed of light, so you can't even think about the possibility of time travel.
But guess what? You can time travel by a different way, for example, whenever you look at the sun (hopefully indirectly) you are seeing around 8 minutes in the past, looking at stars will give you thousands and millions of years view of the past, now imagine that all the knowledge and information already exist, we can't just access them all at once. If you don't believe me, do some research on dejavu, something we all have experienced in our lives.

Now how did humanity invent computer? How did humanity invent quantum computer? I'm sure they were all humans working hard to obtain the necessary knowledge to invent such technologies. Whether it is more likely to have a strong QC or a simple math formula, that's debatable.

729  Economy / Reputation / Re: What's up with all the Bitget shills? on: November 03, 2023, 03:07:37 PM
Do they have an official thread/ account on bitcointalk? If they don't have that, they should not be allowed to advertise here because potential clients from this forum won't have a place to discuss about the service and get answers from their representatives, but if they have a thread and account, they should receive a red tag accordingly, why? Because we all know when a service acquires cheap shilling services, they are not really trustworthy, and we all know that those shills are getting paid $1 per day, so their reviews about how trustworthy and great that service is, does not imply trustworthiness.

Because, if you have an exit scam plan, you won't do it to small clients, you'd wait to grow the amount of your stash and then execute the plan.
So I'd say again, if there are no official thread here, administrator should issue a ban warning for those promoting such services.  Why having a thread here is a must? Because people can scrutinize them for possible red flags.
730  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum Computers Can Not Defeat Bitcoin, not even The Bitcoin Network on: November 03, 2023, 01:59:44 PM
Well you can't reverse sha256 to get the same message back, which means even if you manage to reverse it and find a message that hashes to the same output hash, you have just found a hash collision, because the original message could be anything.

That's for hash functions, which I know nothing about.

For elliptic curve, which still I don't know anything about but can speculate based on experience.
You don't need a quantum computer to break it, you just need a mathematical formula which could work for any number, and since private keys are numbers, finding such formula can solve any key by using even a mobile phone.
So it doesn't matter if your private key is 256 bit or 40 or 2048 bit numbers, because finding such formula is not related to how big a number is, it depends on mathematical relations between numbers.

Almost everyone base their opinion on already existing algorithm and calculate things based on available data, but I haven't seen anyone working on finding or developing new algorithms.

You might think Einstein invented atomic bombs, or the relativity, no they were there even before the big bang, he just discovered them in 20th century.
731  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: the dilemma of division in ECC-secp256k1 on: November 03, 2023, 01:30:40 PM
There are some other possibilities as to why you get a different result, for example for educational purposes I use 77 decimal places whenever I am working with fractions, what does that mean?
E.g, if you divide a number and get 0.xxx, removing 0 and converting the fraction part to hex would give you 65 hex characters if you use 78 decimal precision, but using 77 decimal precision gives you a 256 bit number.
Code:
using 77 decimal precision =
226918604445÷7
32416943492.142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857
Using 78 decimal precision =
32416943492.1428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571

In your example:
Code:
0.14285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285
Why would you try dividing? If it's a fraction, dividing won't work, you have to multiply, and if you multiply
Code:
0.14285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285 *
10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 =
1428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428.5
Note the .5 in the result above converts to n/2 in EC. Any fraction number is like that, so .5 should go at the beginning, which means you have to subtract n/2 from the result to get your integer.
732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin puzzle transaction ~32 BTC prize to who solves it on: November 02, 2023, 07:55:19 PM
Another angle to work on #130, there are many ways to manipulate the ranges, I'm just providing the easiest ones.
Code:
400000000000000000000000000000000
282a8bfbda44ad168dfff85563a4be809
17d5740425bb52e9720007aa9c5b417f7
The second and the third keys above could be considered as #130, look what happens when we subtract each of them from the end range, they are the reverse of each other in hex like 8 turns to 7, a=5, b=4, c=3, d=2, e=1, f=0 etc.

What that means, is that if you could find a definitive mathematical/modular relation between such keys, then you could theoretically solve any keys by doing the same subtractions as above.
They are like when added, they generate a composite number divisible by powers of 2.  Only thing you have to figure, is to find a way either by +, -, /, and *, to land on a constant key, for example it doesn't matter what your key is, if you add 10  to 50 and divide by 2, you can get 30 which has a distance of 10 from half of 30(15) to 25 aka half of target.
I mean some relation like that, find that then you can solve any keys.
Let me show you, if you divide both keys and subtract their results, you can have:
Code:
2- 82a8bfbda44ad168dfff85563a4be809
3- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa28e5131837b7a1186a8bed42070170dc
4- 7fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff9eabce5229c9b8d24fe8f1f1854114a5
5- 34437fe574eaba29f33302227db7f66a
6- 555555555555555555555555555555551472898c1bdbd08c3545f6a10380b86e
7- 2554c9119ca7a98badb6b861c78366de
8- bfffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff2cad559c6c892c8707dda83f2abbaaf3

Now if you add the results, you will have these :
Code:
2- 200000000000000000000000000000000
3- aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaab271f3def1f85c027d536e9b3357980d6
4- 100000000000000000000000000000000
5- 99999999999999999999999999999999a335b7bd9c5ec68a3fe49f2149ba2727
6- 55555555555555555555555555555555938f9ef78fc2e013ea9b74d99abcc06b
7- 9249249249249249249249249249249221887e3aad4e126b490a7f2be4b149dc
8- 80000000000000000000000000000000
Now remember you can always know the second offsets, when you divide and add, if you are interested, try to find a relation between the first 8 offsets and the second 8 offsets, and note that they are only divided by 2 through 8, you can go beyond 2^100 and study the results carefully.

🦟🦟, who let these flies in?
733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETFs and the 401(k) Dilemma on: November 02, 2023, 01:46:53 PM
YOLO season has already passed, now you must wait until the price drops back down below $30K before you take risks with large amount of savings, since your investment will most likely be underwater until at least 2025.
Well, you only live once has no season, but anyways, the reason why people now are showing interest to "invest on" Bitcoin is because they go where ever the winds go, they wait for the movement to start and then decide to invest.
Why do I say invest on? Because what they do is like betting, they are actually betting on the future price, whilst the true believers  of Bitcoin are already invested in deep for years.
Of course buying/investing now is much less profitable than 30 days ago, and 30 days from now it will become much less profitable than now.

If you don't trust and believe in Bitcoin, it's best if you don't engage with it, you might suddenly loose 50% of your portfolio and dump everything to save at least the other half, just to realize in a matter of few weeks, that you made a big mistake.
734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin puzzle transaction ~32 BTC prize to who solves it on: November 02, 2023, 01:27:25 PM
Seriously what is there to learn from random keys? When you go random on rmd160/addresses, it's like being in a gun fight and shoot blindly with your fingers, not a real gun.

Let me give you something to work with public keys through +, - only, it's best to use key subtracter.
First select a range and do subtractions in bulk, then pick one of the offsets and perform the same subtraction on it, then pick one of the second offsets and add it to your original target, if you see the distance between your original target and second offset was added to your original target, it means the second offset is not -n, but if you see the distance was subtracted after trying to do addition, it means the 2nd offset is -n, which indicates your second attempt at bulk subtraction, subtracted a larger number than your original key.

Now since you have your ranges saved, you can conclude the size of your target.

Does theymos have a patent for signature campaign such that no other forum can replicate what is happening here without his permission.
Do you think all people are like faketoshi to try and slide a patent some where just to claim ownership?

I heard there is a site paying for posts/content, it was posted on project development board, something called stacker.news, you can spread the words and gather as many as you can to attack that site with some constructive content.😉
736  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: the dilemma of division in ECC-secp256k1 on: November 02, 2023, 11:35:18 AM
Besides the academic explanation by our friend, there are some tricks which you need to know about division.
E.g, if your key ends with an even number, you could get p+p/2 = p 1.5 by multiplying with this:
Code:
57896044618658097711785492504343953926418782139537452191302581570759080747170

But how can you figure out  this? 0.6246791476704254716112
You need to know what produces the above fraction. However if you do this :
0.6246791476704254716112*10000000000000000000000
You'd end up with 6246791476704254716112, these are normal numbers but you can learn a lot from them ;
Lets see what that noob on second post did.
Code:
226918604445/7 =
32416943492.142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857
What if we now multiply
32416943492.142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857
*2 =
64833886984.285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714
* by 3 =
97250830476.428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571
* by 4 =
129667773968.57142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857142857143
*by 5 =
162084717460.71428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571428571429
* by 6 =
194501660952.85714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714285714
You will get an idea about what's happening once you do this and compare all the results.

When you are dividing, you'd want to use powers, to land on the closest number to your target.
Operating mod n, means your n is the limit of your world's mathematics, what that really means, n is not changing, it's a fixed value and you can find it's weak spots.

I meant the actual BIG GUNS, not some wannabes, I mean someone like "MinghuaQu" who apparently worked for NSA
And evidence suggest he might be the one generating secp256k1 curve, and I would like to ask him about his selection of N the group order, why this specific value? Why so many leading Fs?
Especially to ask him if he knows that the following keys posses  any unique properties such as some kind of backdoor etc.?

Go for it, dive into it, as you said YOLO, so why not risk it all? While there is even a better opportunity in a very short period of time, buy now just to sell after the halving when God willing we hit another ATH, then you can cash out with at least 90% profit in less than a year.

After that you could go back to your normal life and wait for another 4 years, another ETF hype, another halving to rinse and repeat, just imagine how much more you can get by doing this instead of waiting one or two decades.

Ok, since I just learned THE SECRET, I'm gonna continue as usual. 😉 because if you stop, you can never know what could have happened if you had continued to work harder.

So, does anyone here knows a way to always find 2 keys 1 being +n, the other 1 being -n without their last digit ever changing?
For example, if +n is 23785778 and -n is something like 678789915549,  do you know how to get 2 other keys ending with 8 and 9? And only by subtraction, not division.

Lets mind storm about this idea, and discuss how could knowing your target's last digit help in solving a key.

This thread is so funny.
Some guys think they can bring up something better than the best mathematicians that dedicated most of their lives to this and similar problems.
E.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Pollard_(mathematician)

You think you are smarter by doing your elementary school division?
Cool story bro! Where is this mathematician right now? Is he working on these puzzles? I wonder where are the BIG GUNS of mathematics, there are millions of $ for the grab, why don't they join the party?
I don't think the world knows about this puzzle, at least  they should spread the word so everyone can join, I mean come on, the most active member here is a notorious but harmless forum troll.

Maybe they are already working on this but silently? Well they should know that keeping knowledge to yourself won't give you more knowledge, that's why they won't get anything promising.😉
