It depends — what aspect of bitcoin/crypto are you actually interested in?

Always remember that most of Bitcoin/crypto is open-source. So whatever app category you're interested in, just go to their website and check their open-source code.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whether Bitcoin ETFs are approved or not, we expect bullish trend on: October 28, 2023, 02:20:56 AM
Who the heck knows what will cause bitcoin’s price to go up in the end? Too much people are betting on the halving and the ETF. What if bitcoin doesn’t immediately pump after these events? Bet longterm.
723  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Onchain analysis method on: October 27, 2023, 07:35:16 AM

Just a quick note to reader to not trade(short, in this case) solely based on token unlocks alone. This might've been viable then, but now that a lot of traders use it, shorting unlocks became an overcrowded trade — to the point that we actually see pumps on unlocks because of short-squeezes.
724  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Startup says it can access $235M in locked bitcoin — but owner says ‘no thanks’ on: October 27, 2023, 06:00:59 AM
Similar to hardware wallets — the device will erase all memory if you get 3-5 guesses wrong. Why? Imagine if you hardware wallet got stolen; would you want the thief to have unlimited amounts of guesses? Exactly.
725  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the last 5 years compare to now on: October 27, 2023, 01:17:48 AM
Do you think this will continue in the coming years?

If you meant price increase and continued adoption on the institutional side, then yes — because if most of us didn't think this, we simply wouldn't be here and continue to be buying bitcoin. Simple as that.
726  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Delisted/Inactive Coins from Exchange on: October 27, 2023, 12:40:51 AM
Theres so many trash tokens out there that promised the world and delivered nothing. To b ehonest its actually quite surprising that more of them have not been delisted Cheesy

It's simply because Binance (or any other exchange's) criteria for listing a token is mostly just if a token has actual trading demand. That's pretty much it. Obviously they'd only list only like 5% of what they currently have listed if they only list tokens that actually have delivered something.
727  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How hacked assets are made re-usable? on: October 26, 2023, 04:29:06 PM

1. How are hacked crypto assets made re-usable?

Through mixers — there's a reason why governments tried to seize/shutdown platforms like Bitcoin's ChipMixer, and Ethereum's TornadoCash.

2. Is tainted crypto also a thing?

Yes. Some centralized exchanges close/lock accounts of people with deposits from "questionable"(probably from their vocabulary) transaction history.

3. Is there any higher regulatory authority that monitors crypto related illegal activity?

It will differ from country to country or state to state.
728  Other / Meta / Re: Why is Halloween not being celebrated in our forum yet this year? on: October 26, 2023, 04:54:57 AM
There are simply far betters things for Theymos and the devs(if there are) to do than to host a (Halloween celebration).

..you know.. like.. working on the mythical supposedly 'new' forum software.

If you really wanted one though, feel free to host it yourself!
729  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Unstoppable Wallet vs Cold Wallet on: October 26, 2023, 03:22:36 AM
I know hot wallet, cold wallet. But...in case i would use the hot wallet on an iPhone that has installed only the wallet and have internet connection...would it be possible to get hacked in a way if only that would be the use for it?
Yes — though if you use a smartphone solely for wallet purposes, the chances are lower, but definitely not impossible. Smartphones can still have exploits even if you don't install random apps.

Which variant would be safer?
A hardware wallet.

730  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much could you earn in a day ? on: October 26, 2023, 01:46:56 AM
Heck, platforms with 1000x leverage exists. While I obviously don't recommend it due to the risk, potential profit could be anything. You can even make 100% in a few hours if you actually do it correctly lol. The question is, will you actually be able to do it correctly? 90%+ of people won't be able to.
731  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Delisted/Inactive Coins from Exchange on: October 26, 2023, 01:36:54 AM
It's kinda showing that the more we are in a bear market year, the more pairs are being delisted.
What are your thoughts?

Little to no trading volume = delist.

While this data make it seems like we're having less trading pairs/tokens on exchanges, I don't have the data — but I'm pretty sure the trading pairs/tokens getting listed totally outweighs the number of delists.
732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blackrock ETF/Bitcoin will destroy the (new) cryptocurrency industry soon... on: October 25, 2023, 04:16:36 PM
Shitcoins haven't turned into gold just yet. Maybe we should hang on a bit and see if they gain some value during the next real bull run. But seriously, who's still holding onto shitcoins? The days of ICOs and ETH tokens was long gone, and shitcoins have lost their value, mainly good for shady 'investments.'

Just like OP, you're pretty much just placing the "shitcoin" eggs in one single massive bucket. Just like back then, you can still make massive amounts of money through shitcoins — you just need to know how to pick the right ones.

Also — if you think no one holds shitcoins these days, then you should probably check the data lmao.
733  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do Not Lose Everything Youve Gained in One day, or One Trade on: October 25, 2023, 04:06:36 PM
Most people are simply not fit for using leverage, or even trading in general. Overall in my entire time in the crypto space, I made most of my money just trading altcoins using spot. Leverage always managed to mess me over due to those sharp wicks, despite me being directionally correct.
734  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Instagram Banned Bitcoin on: October 25, 2023, 03:57:55 AM
Instagram is a paradise for photos to show their wealth, happiness and yes, scams.

True Bitcoin users care about privacy and anonymity so Instagram will not be their favorite platform to discuss about Bitcoin. Who need Instagram to show a face and expose their identity to the crowd?

Twitter is better than Instagram or Facebook for cryptocurrency communities but I know scammers are abundant on Twitter too.

For technical discussions, developments and helps, they can get it on Bitcointalk.

True. But what are they going to post on Instagram about wealth+bitcoin anyway? A picture of their hardware wallet? A screenshot of their wallet app balance? It doesn't make much sense. The only photo I could think of that someone might post are photos in a Bitcoin conference/meetup, and that's pretty much it.
735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Instagram Banned Bitcoin on: October 25, 2023, 03:45:19 AM
Ehh whatever. It doesn't really make much sense to have Bitcoin discussion on Instagram — an image photo sharing platform. If I were to guess most of the Bitcoin-related posts there are scams anyway.
736  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will $BTC soar beyond 35K or dip below? 🚀📉 on: October 25, 2023, 02:33:44 AM
Neither, I think. We had so much hype and so much increase in a short period of time that I think we'll just calm down a bit and go sideways around the $33k to $35k price range. I don't think there's be much sellers due to the anticipation of both the ETF and the halving.
737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blackrock ETF/Bitcoin will destroy the (new) cryptocurrency industry soon... on: October 24, 2023, 06:34:02 AM
Here is the thing: If you sell your shitcoins now, you can still get a good price for them and buy bitcoin right now, while it's still cheap. Then later bitcoin goes to 1 million and it will have been worth to sell of the shitcoins right now.

It won't take long for people to catch on...

The funny thing is you're squeezing "shitcoins" in one single category, which contains like thousands of tokens. Thinking that every single one of them will be outperformed by bitcoin is just pure ignorance no matter how dominant bitcoin is.

But yea — thanks, but I know what I'm doing.
738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blackrock ETF/Bitcoin will destroy the (new) cryptocurrency industry soon... on: October 24, 2023, 01:04:10 AM
Now that's some conspiracy theory LMAO. I'll have whatever you're smoking, please.

Bitcoin is not the real threat. It is actually all the other new cryptocurrencies which are much much much more advanced than Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is old and obsolete compared to the new stuff.

No offense, but you'd have to be absolutely illiterate to believe this — and I'm saying this as a person who holds a ton of altcoins. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are simply in very different categories.
739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Did You Meet Bitcoin? on: October 22, 2023, 04:09:16 PM
First instance (before 2014?): I was trying to find ways to earn money online (lol) and stumbled upon bitcoin mining. Didn't make crap mining on my crappy laptop so just quitted immediately.

Second instance: The Bitfinex hack was all over Reddit, so I finally took a deep dive on what this Bitcoin thing is; and the rest is history!
740  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The end of Lightning Network? on: October 22, 2023, 01:31:23 AM
Not sure why some people are calling it dead already.

1. While he's a core dev, he's definitely not the only dev

2. Lightning has never been perfect. But while it technically works, it's simply not ready yet. There's a reason why I never recommended it to normies yet as of yet. But, let's not forget that —

3. Software can be improved
