7321  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Could Bitcoin ditch mining? on: October 08, 2013, 08:35:28 AM
It could. But, it wont. People want to mine the rest of Bitcoin, when that has been done that's when Bitcoin will turn into a non mining currency. However, driving cars is bad for the environment, although people still drive cars and a average family has around 2 to 3 cars. Not mentioning other appliances in the house.
7322  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Question to you on: October 08, 2013, 08:28:46 AM
Why would be disclose such information? But, being honest I believe a lot of newbies are trying to get more Bitcoin because they have so little.
7323  Other / Meta / Re: Since attack on bitcointalk, email trouble. Anyone else? on: October 08, 2013, 08:21:38 AM
Well, my email is due a change anyway. Although, I do use a unique email only for this forum. But, I tend to change it every so often because I have the notifications email when someone replies in a thread that I have posted in and I am too lazy to delete all the emails. Also, I'm too lazy to disable that feature.
7324  Other / Off-topic / Re: Life outside bitcointalk on: October 08, 2013, 08:12:38 AM
I do agree, nothing really interesting has been happening so I didn't miss it much, but it'l still nice to read up on some things.
7325  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie getting started. on: October 07, 2013, 11:56:00 PM
A huge botnet of many, many computers was being used to mine Bitcoins using the CPUs of the computers in the botnet.

It was calculated that in order to produce $2,000 in Bitcoins the botnet consumed about $600,000 in stolen electricity.

well that is a lot of wasted energy... i better try using part of the batch of pcs at time.

You should check out some of the threads related to the subject, there's a lot of information which would help you I think.

yeah, im checking, in fact i think thats my problem, i read and learn, and im not still feeling sure enough to create a wallet, and join a pool

Do what you want to do, it's better than listening to others some times. People are bias. Trial and error can be very useful.
7326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Want to buy your ripples! Sell NOW! on: October 07, 2013, 11:54:35 PM
You might want to use a escrow to the people who are going to sell.
I may consider escrow, But I'd prefer not to. As said I will send first if you are reputable

Like yourself

I'm just warning the newbies without reputation Wink. Good luck.

7330  Other / Meta / Re: About the recent attack on: October 07, 2013, 11:30:46 PM
SMF v2.0.2 has many vulnerabilities.

Yeah. SMF 2.x is basically 1.x with more features (ie. more attack area) and a slightly more secure database escaping scheme. Upgrading probably isn't worthwhile unless we want the better license.

iirc the latest build is 2.0.5 and is quite secure....

It's got more features which are means more vulnerabilities. He's right, it's more than likely better to stay on this version. Although, upgrading to a different forum system may be better but would require more downtime and more hassle.
7331  Other / Meta / Re: I will upload my own picture (In profile) disabled? on: October 07, 2013, 11:28:26 PM
Many features have been temporarily disabled as a result of the hack pending a code review. As we review the code for security holes, features will be re-enabled.

Could be get a list of features which are disabled please? So, if I can't do anything I don't keep on replying because it's not working, thanks!

It explains the system thoroughly and should help you understand when it changes.
7337  Economy / Lending / Re: [FULL COLLATERAL] "Up To 57 day loan." on: October 07, 2013, 10:49:33 PM

How could we proof that the person you lent to actually paid you back?
I would have given you the credentials to the Bitfinex account. You could have just logged in and checked whenever you want. ~.~

Whats the big deal? I was literally going to give you what would have been practically guaranteed non-liquid Bitcoins as collateral for a liquid-Bitcoin loan. What could I have possibly given you as collateral that could possibly have been as low-risk to you as that?

Given us the credentials is nothing, the loan could still default. No risk is a good deal not "low" risk.

You could offer domains, hardware etc. Something which you can transfer to the person offering the money.
7338  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How would I start a group buy on: October 07, 2013, 10:41:16 PM
Group buys require trust or reputation, which I'm sorry you don't have at the moment. Although, for future preferences, you can join existing group buys or create your own in the trade forum.
7339  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you play? on: October 07, 2013, 10:39:17 PM
I know a game I will be playing if it does get released. The next Fallout. Absolutely love all the games of the series as I have mentioned. Although, there is another Wasteland coming out and I'm looking forward to playing that as it looks pretty good.
7340  Other / Off-topic / Re: What video games do you play? on: October 07, 2013, 10:26:38 PM
Is anyone going to buy the new game of Battlefield?

I'm not sure. I have heard mixed opinions on the demo, although the demo is just a taster on the current console generation. Looking at the trailers and gameplay which has been leaked it looks like it's been improved a little. Although, I'm still unsure to get it or not and may wait until after the release when I can get a little bit more of a visual on it.
