741  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Can you find a fault with this "slow" POW algorithm? (possible bounty) on: February 07, 2016, 03:56:11 AM
Lines 132,267,325 are you using MD5?

Hmm... it isn't supposed to be doing so (only legacy stuff as per the conditional check at line 129) but indeed you've found an issue with the other two lines (will be fixing it today so thanks for that).

EDIT: New commit pushed that will now only uses MD5 for legacy encrypted data (and updated the line number in the OP).

743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Be careful - these assholes will try and steal your funds!!! on: February 06, 2016, 03:43:48 PM
If you are stupid enough to think that IOTA is anything but another "scam" then just take a look at this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1354220.0

(all they do is attack anyone that says anything against them)

I think everyone knows that Nxt was a scam and CfB's hardware project (Jinn) is also a scam.

So if you care about your funds then I would not suggest that you invest them with these people.

(yes - self moderated to stop the David sociopath from the attacks I know he is going to create - btw - I don't care about your threats asshole - every personal attack that you make just shows what a weak person that you are)

Cheesy

So because someone thinks it "is pretty" is why your product needs it?

Thanks for backing up my point (that the emperor has no clothes).

Strange that these amazing benefits of "trinary" are just too hard to explain.

745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA - Unmoderated thread on: February 06, 2016, 10:21:20 AM
Then why not explain what exactly the "trinary logic" is supposed to do for your (non-existent?) product?

(you never bothered to explain that to me in regards to AT)

The fact that some "trinary logic" research is being done is not in dispute (and there are plenty of other pretty much pointless technologies being researched all the time) but its relevance to anything practical in crypto is.
746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA - Unmoderated thread on: February 06, 2016, 10:00:24 AM
I see that you are angry judging by ad hominem in your post. Sorry, but I ought to say that alcoholism became a serious problem in your life. You should quit this habit if you want to achieve what you planned (CIYAM software, etc.)

Wow - just wow - first you mistakenly call my post an ad hom (it was not as the "shit" you complained about was directed at the coin and not at you personally) and now you throw an ad hom attack at me.

How about you try and show us how a serious professional behaves instead of trolling and ad homming. Smiley

Regarding trinary logic stuff. We had to create our own circuitry designing software and when we realized that existing solutions don't suit I recalled you and your CIYAM, it would save us a lot of time and money if you completed it...

For the non-technical people I'll point out that "trinany logic" is "snake oil". Cheesy
747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA - Unmoderated thread on: February 06, 2016, 03:44:31 AM
Another "shit-coin" from the idiot that believes in using "trinary logic".

Who cares really?

(am sure he'll have a bunch of sockies or shills posting here though so get ready to regret that you created this topic)

You shouldn't post that late because during evenings you are usually drunk and this inevitably lowers quality of your posts. I know that you are old, do you really think that strong language adds credibility to your words?

That's funny - because your partner in crime (David) was the guy who said I wasn't drunk back when I swore over stuff to do with Nxt.

Hmm... so apparently I'm drunk when it suits you but not otherwise. Cheesy

I guess you don't know very much about Australians and their language (the country that has the government sponsored advertising slogan "Drink, Drive? Bloody Idiot!").

BTW - how is that trinary logic stuff going? Convinced the world that it is the future yet?
748  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptsy plot thickens on: February 06, 2016, 03:34:48 AM
OK, but is it possible for big vern to flee to China and permanently evade US justice there?

Sure he could travel to China and try and work out visas but as he can't get married (unless his wife has legally divorced him) he would have to leave the country once per year (the general rule for visas here).

So if he were to go to say Hong Kong (a likely place that still is effectively the same as leaving the country for the purpose of a visa) then he could be deported back to the US from there.
749  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA - Unmoderated thread on: February 05, 2016, 06:22:17 PM
Not long time ago I opened their thread and in the very last post CfB said that he deleted a few posts. I guess it should be enough proof that the posts are deleted from there - the lead developer, my great Belarusian friend said himself that he deleted them.

You do realise that his only skill is in MMORPG (i.e. social manipulation)?

The guy can't code for shit and has been called out already by others for his "technobabble" (such as the rubbish stuff about Nxt being safe from a NAS attack due to apparently some "Star Trek" technology that doesn't actually exist).
750  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Optimal tx fees suggestor on: February 05, 2016, 06:06:52 PM
Im not sure this is something I would be willing to disclose just to get a fee estimate.

Doesn't the latest version of Bitcoin let you work this out itself?

(if not then maybe that should be a suggested addition for it)

Most of his assets are in crypto, and his wife wants them confiscated because she's frightened he's going to run to China, get citizenship by marrying his new girlfriend and never return.

That is not possible in China (no foreigner can "get citizenship" and as I'm married to a Chinese I am quite sure of this).

For sure he can move his BTC to China though (there are several exchanges).

Also - he cannot get legally married in China without a legal document from the US stating that he is no longer married there (so his wife should simply not divorce him if she wants to make it harder for him).

753  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Optimal tx fees suggestor on: February 05, 2016, 04:36:11 PM
I would assume the need for an address is to find the UTXOs as you can't calculate the fees without them.

(it should allow for multiple UTXOs though and they are not necessarily going to be linked to a single address)
754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] - NEW BURST OP - MINE WITH YOUR HDD - ATs, AE, P2P MARKETPLACE, and MORE! on: February 05, 2016, 03:57:38 PM
Guys - after the fuck up with the marketing stuff previously perhaps look at trying to get an article about AT ACCT published via this: http://cointelegraph.com/news/cointelegraph-aspiring-authors-and-bloggers

Also please give @vbcs your support - I have provided him with a new design for AT ACCT that will kick ass but he isn't feeling very loved at the moment (so the work just isn't happening).

You should also keep in mind that Qora is your partner in AT and that the two projects should be trying to help each other (not trying to create any controversy - people can decide which platform they prefer - but if people work together it will benefit all of the platforms).
755  Bitcoin / Project Development / Looking for the next "Steve Jobs" (well - a marketing guru at least) on: February 05, 2016, 03:39:08 PM
Actually I'm not a fan of Steve Jobs (but instead of Steve Wozniak as some of my earliest programming was done on an Apple ][ clone).

The CIYAM project not only has blockchain technology but Software Manufacturing technology which no other similar project can offer (yup - it is years ahead of Ethereum).

The one thing lacking is a key partner for marketing development (I understand the need for such a partnership).

If you have a vision that will work with the CIYAM open source ethos then welcome to introduce yourself (some proof of your achievements will be required and no stupid ad sig posts please).

(serious interested parties should PM me - posts are being permitted for relevant questions only)
756  Other / Meta / Re: Talking/discussing to yourself/your own alt on: February 05, 2016, 03:27:56 PM
I am pretty sure that sockies shilling for each other is totally commonplace here (and no-one is going to do anything to stop them).

Best thing is not to bother reporting unfortunately (I have stopped reporting anything on this forum now).
757  Bitcoin / Project Development / Can you find a fault with this "slow" POW algorithm? (possible bounty) on: February 05, 2016, 02:31:26 PM
Now the first thing to note is that I'm going to delete any stupid posts or posts that say nothing useful (and posts that basically say "I recommend that you don't write such an algorithm yourself" will be deleted).

If you're wondering about my "ability" to create code then here are some examples of what I have done (some of which are based upon or include the work of other open source projects - so citing other open source code worth looking at is fine as a response):

https://github.com/ciyam/ciyam/blob/master/src/diff.h - an O(NP) diff implementation (that works out the "path" not just the distance)

https://github.com/ciyam/ciyam/blob/master/src/date_time.cpp - a huge amount of stuff for date and time things

https://github.com/ciyam/ciyam/blob/master/src/btree.h - a generic B+Tree implementation

https://github.com/ciyam/ciyam/blob/master/src/cache.h - a generic multi-region cache implementation

Okay - so hopefully after seeing those examples you can believe that I am not an idiot who doesn't know how to code and can therefore perhaps consider looking at the following: https://github.com/ciyam/ciyam/blob/master/src/crypt_stream.cpp#L442
(it is a memory-hard POW algo that was designed to work in a similar manner to scrypt)

It is entirely likely that I might end up using Cuckoo instead (as I quite like that algo but I just think it might be a little too complex for what I want) but for now I am using this so I'd like to see if anyone can find a serious issue with it.

(there might be a bounty offered later - but for now am just seeing if anyone is curious to take a look)
758  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CIYAM - Project Plan Outline and Progress Updates on: February 05, 2016, 01:01:32 PM
Although Cuckoo is still a likely candidate for now a simpler algorithm has been implemented (the key loop is here: https://github.com/ciyam/ciyam/blob/master/src/crypt_stream.cpp#L440).

Using this algorithm CIYAM blocks now require a "nonce" that is created by trying different values until one that produces an SHA256 hash with a leading zero hex digit is found. As per any other "proof of work" implementation verifying the nonce is much simpler than finding it.

As the main point of the CIYAM blockchain is not "proof of work" this is simply being added for NAS prevention (and the "difficulty" is kept very low).

The same POW will later be used for account creation and verification (a key part of how a CIYAM blockchain is secured) and for that purpose the difficulty will be greatly increased (current testing indicates that two leading hex digits should suffice).
759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good or bad that Core development is virtually controlled by one company? on: February 04, 2016, 06:36:48 PM
and i will laugh if it turns out that its a blockstream sponsored event and you have been paid to attend, either as panelist or organiser

@franky1 - no-one has paid me one cent (from any organisation) to do with Bitcoin at all - so that isn't going to be the case.
760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good or bad that Core development is virtually controlled by one company? on: February 04, 2016, 06:30:46 PM
hopefully there is a hongkong bitcoin meetup in the autumn which you would attend.(2 birds one stone)

Well I do applaud you for being brave enough to at least state that.

When you are closer to that time let me know.
