Bitcoins are WAY undervalued...
Okay, I'll sell you 10 BTC for $200 USD cash. Smiley

j/k, I agree with you.

I posted a 25BTC Casascius coin for bid on http://www.mokimarket.com/

The current Bid is $0.06

I think this auction site may be very popular once a few changes are made.
I posted the suggest changes here:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=52412.msg627005#msg627005
Which one of you is PokerFace? Congrats to you on winning a 25BTC casascius coin for ~$20.

Just curious, is that $20 as a final bid price, or $20 total cost with the bid and whatever per-bid fees there were?

BTW, to answer your question, gold has the nifty property of being able to be made very, very thin, so the value of the coin is going to be in its looks and the BTC, the coins are not a huge store of metal commodity value.
It was: $9.69 (winning bid) + $4.53 (credits used to bid) + $5 (shipping).  http://www.mokimarket.com/auction_details/248

And about the gold content-- I know it's an extremely small amount, but I was just curious if it was 10c or $1 worth of gold, or some other amount.
745  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prediction Thread (PRIZES INSIDE!) on: November 23, 2011, 04:41:28 PM
If the 3837.4 BTC sell off counts, I was 162.6 out Smiley

Receiving address please. Who won the others? I'm lazy.
I'm too lazy to see if I won.  But I can post a receiving address regardless. :p
746  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [Bounty] 100 BTC for compromised Casascius coin on: November 23, 2011, 04:37:22 PM
Nice idea.  I'm pretty sure it won't cost you anything either.

Out of curiosity, and since I know nothing about how gold-plating works, what is the approximate weight/value of the gold on the $25 BTC coin?

I can ping glbse.com, but it won't load in my browser.
750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The new interface in Bitcoin 0.5.0 is BAD! on: November 23, 2011, 03:52:00 PM
The switch to QT is the right decision. Does the UI need some (minor) improvements?  Yes.  Will we be seeing improvements?  I'm confident we will.

It's down.

Hi everyone, I've shut down Bitcoinduit.  The hosting account has been suspended because I've stopped paying for it.
Once there's enough gambling traffic, I'll put it up again.
Out of curiosity, when you shut it down, did you disable creating new games, but leave it up until all running games finished?
753  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Request for an RPC capable fork of cgminer (120/145 BTC pledged so far) on: November 23, 2011, 02:48:52 PM
But I have no idea what you mean by "(on restart recheck config file for any changes)"
When you send cgminer the restart request and it restarts, load the config file and use values from there.  This is a given, since if it reads the config file when it starts, it will when it restarts too.

I don't know that a new centralized solution is needed/wanted.  If we want a centralized stock exchange, just improved/maintain GLBSE.  I think a decentralized, peer-to-peer solution would be a step in the right direction though.  Just my opinion though.  I too am a software developer, and it would be quite interesting to be involved with either solution.

759  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - a new thin client on: November 22, 2011, 06:26:44 PM
Indeed. well, the fee calculation in the official bitcoin client is quite complicated, and I did not take the time to reproduce it. However, when I first used the official client, it took me some time to realize that the fee was "per kB". In any case, I think that the fee should be visible from the user before they press the "send" button. Maybe we should display the suggested fee, and give the user the option to increase or decrease it.

I'm actually thinking about "coin selection" patch, so I may also redesign fee calculation. I wanted to know that you're aware of that and you also see it as "problem to be fixed". Calculating appropriate fees can be pretty tricky, because rising fee can rise size of transaction, which can rise fee again :-). Btw coin selection is yet another feature which I'm missing in official client.
Coin selection would be a great feature, both for avoiding fees and added privacy.

If any of you read my post earlier... It will be down till the second week of December(12th?).  They are doing major upgrades.  The main one is creating a place for you to actually sign up and be a user so that your information can be recorded.  There are more things happenings, but I'm not privy to the details.
Then why does the hosting say "account suspended"?  You would think if they closed down temporarily to make upgrades, they would post a placeholder page with a message to that effect.
