7561  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Special thread concerning bitmains coupons refunds discounts. on: November 18, 2019, 07:26:15 PM
The only way to get the credit according to their support is to pay with PayPal and then contact them with the order ID. They will then manually deduct the amount from the order. I too tried placing an order over a week ago with BTC after they first told me I had a credit and no credit was shown or applied on the order along with no coupon. I contacted their support again and they gave the pay with PayPal and contact them answer others have also received.

well that will be an issue for me - 2 years ago I ordered 10.6k worth of miners from Alibaba seller - who never delivered - I used PayPal, after 3 months with no miners or even a tracking number, I filed a claim, after a month more of going back and forth with PayPal, they refunded the 10.6k order but also promptly closed my payPal account and said I was a "risk" not sure why I got that but I was also happy to get my 10.6k back.

Long story short - I cannot use my corporate PayPal account to pay or place orders any longer as the account has been closed.
7562  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Special thread concerning bitmains coupons refunds discounts. on: November 18, 2019, 06:38:22 PM
I have now sent 3 emails after receiving their initial email about the price differences and that we would receive refunds/credits and I have gotten zero responses. Today I opened a support ticket on Bitmain's site - not sure if that will get me any answers faster.

I want to order a T17e with the credit or get the refund so I can order, I have enough coming back that with the $150 coupon I have that I would only be out of pocket for around $200 and shipping.

I tried to place an order to see if I would see the credit at payout, and I got the following message:

Quote
The product in your cart will be shipped out from China and an additional 25% import duty will be charged by US customs, please kindly confirm before submitting your orders.

and like Phil above, I did not see it on the payment screen, so I will be letting this order expire.
7563  Other / Meta / Re: The .com forum on: November 18, 2019, 06:18:44 PM
if the domain was around prior to the .org one - why would you report it? it is not trying to pretend to be the .org nor is it any real competition to the .org site. They have a few members that still post there but I don't see any issues why it needs to be reported.

7564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: SEGWIT LTC.TBDICE.ORG 0.5% fee SOLO MM LTC/DGE POOL 3K+ LTC/7K+ DGE blks solved on: November 18, 2019, 06:14:55 PM
WOW.........someone got back-to-back orphaned DOGE blocks......that's gotta suck........

I see a few miners pop in-n-out with some massive hashing power.....they don't stay long, and sometimes they don't even find a LTC or DOGE block during their brief visit....I guess they are looking in a little-0-luck........

Best o' luck to us long time solo miners.............a blind squirrel does find a nut now-and-then.............

could be that tbdice.org is their failover pool so that might explain why they are never there long.
7565  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Poolin.com Bitcoin Mining - FPPS on: November 18, 2019, 06:12:40 PM
all of my devices such as T2T and M20s work correctly but i cant connect my whatsminer m3 devices to poolin. i tested all urls and update my firmware .

i checked this url “stratum+tcp://btc-bj.ss.poolin.com:443” and other ulrs

what should i do?

it might be that they do not support those miners - neutralLTC did post a list of miners they support:

thanks for the question currently we support these models:

ANTMINER:
s9
s11
s15
s17
z9
z9 mini

hey Stryfe, mind sending me a PM so we can resolve your issue together please? thanks.

btw I forgot to post it here, @neutralLTC resolved all my issues - thanks!
7566  Other / Meta / Re: The .com forum on: November 18, 2019, 02:18:31 PM
I don't think the .com domain is a phishing site or something scam
I hope not, because one time I logged into that site with my .org password by accident--and it was stupid, I admit, but for a second I thought the new forum software had been launched (I'd just woken up, that's my excuse).  Right after realizing my mistake I quickly logged on to the right forum and changed my password, but it scared the crap out of me for a few minutes.

That .com site has been around for quite a while if I'm not mistaken, and I'm not sure what the deal is with it.  Is someone squatting on the domain?

My wild suggestion is that theymos can go and buy some of this domains and  can redirect all of them to here of course if the owner are willing to sell them and the price they will be offered will be satisfactory for them.
That would be nice, because I'm sure I'm not the first one who's made a bone-headed move like logging in to the other forum instead of this one.  Plus even if it currently isn't a phishing site, who's to say that someone with malicious intentions couldn't buy it and turn it into one?

I do not think they are "squatting" on the domain - they have been there since 2011 and they do have threads with over 20 pages of posts. At least that is what I can see from a non-registered user pov. I do not have an account there so there might be more to see for registered users.

7568  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS Antminer S17 and S17 Pro used in perfect condition. on: November 16, 2019, 05:04:55 PM
Thats ok to tell me how it works, but with decent words not by offending me dont you think !?!?!?!?!?!!?!?
I dont know whats his problem. But anyways thanks to you but not to him.

I'm very hurt. So....the pictures?? The price? Which Forum member Escrow?? I didn't count but I think this is at least the 5th request. Forthcoming I'm sure.  Roll Eyes

correct - all the "abuse" he claims he is getting would cease if he carried thru with the 3rd post - but I also agree that all sellers should at least receive courtesy if they are new instead of being trashed on their first post. Save it for when they refuse to comply is my opinion. That being said OP has not provided any of the request information.
7569  Economy / Goods / Re: crazy online prices - on eBay for Bitmain S9's on: November 16, 2019, 04:59:28 PM
s17  on ebay , but doesnt take paypal because of volatility of crypto message for payment

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Bitmain-Antminer-S17-Pro-53-TH-s-ASIC-Bitcoin-Miner/233402919490?hash=item3657e5ea42:g:8EAAAOSwovNdzfya

and these posts.... I see dozens of them each week many times the same user - eBay policy strictly prohibits this and states they sanction/ban the sellers but I still see the same guys over and over.
7570  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS Antminer S17 and S17 Pro used in perfect condition. on: November 15, 2019, 10:16:20 PM
wooow woow epochjump GTFO whats wrong with you??? Adolf from Austria is nothing against you guys here GTFO ....Well ok GTFO to yourself to. No need to be like this. Maybe your wife isnt giving you what you need thats why you´re stressed.

I think the issue is that it has been days since you stated you would provide the requested information and you have made many posts but not provided the requested items. You are new here and maybe unfamiliar with how it works here and he is trying to tell you how it does work here.
7571  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS]1 x T17 42TH, 1 x S9i 14TH, 25 x T9+ on: November 15, 2019, 05:32:34 PM

I could come down to $1300 + shipping and I can make sure you get 6.25 c/kWh in the hosting facility that it is in right now. if you would like.
You would save twice on shipping  and once on tariffs.

My electric is 5 cents so 6.25 would be a higher cost.

I appreciate your lower price but I will pass for now - If I did not have credit owed to me by Bitmain and I was not using coupons as well, I would take you up on this. But with those things, the T17 is only $700 from Bitmain - maybe 1000 if the tariff is still in play.
7572  Economy / Goods / Re: crazy online prices - on eBay for Bitmain S9's on: November 15, 2019, 01:37:31 AM

I'm not really talking about credit cards fees or any of that wonky stuff.  People try to bake in the cost of the 10% ebay fees into either the sales price or the shipping as a way to recoup the fee from paypal and/or ebay.  Either way those miners wont sell at those crazy prices they are just click bait hoping they get someone dumb enough to actually pay those prices.

I understood that - and my point was that is the same thing in my opinion. and I understand that they are click bait - what amazes me is the prospect that even one of them might get someone ignorant to pay that much to begin with. lol
7573  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS]1 x T17 42TH, 1 x S9i 14TH, 25 x T9+ on: November 14, 2019, 09:24:36 PM
what would you sell the T17 for on it's own? not interested in the S9/T9 miners.

I would sell the T17 (42TH) for $1500 + shipping

will have to think on that - its 1003 direct from bitmain with shipping within a week. Yes there would be the tariff but it would be less than the $500 difference in price that you are charging.
7574  Economy / Goods / Re: crazy online prices - on eBay for Bitmain S9's on: November 14, 2019, 09:22:45 PM

You are one of the lucky sellers than.  I know too many peoe that have sold on Ebay only to have people mine, then months later claim it was broken when they recieved it.  I guess as a buyer not a big issue since you have that protection but still, you are bound to pay higher prices because you have the ebay fees sellers have to account for.  The high prices is nothing new to ebay though, people do it hoping to get a lucky hit.  Waste of internet space usually though.

I don't charge extra for the fees - unlike most, I accept the fees as the cost of doing business - without the services for which I have to pay fees for, I would not have the sales to begin with.

I completely detest companies that charge stuff like credit card processing fees to customers and things such as that. Again, I see it as the cost of doing business.
7575  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS Antminer S17 and S17 Pro used in perfect condition. on: November 14, 2019, 07:00:03 PM
Wow man thats a hate forum here. It´s possible to use escrow service like www.escrow.com or similar and if  you are not from Europe why at least are you texting, might be a lot of europeans here able to pick it up no?

Price of S17 2400€ and S17Pro 2800€

So maybe any Europeans here interested, I will load them also on www.ebay.de, www.ebay.com and on www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de

it is not about hate - but there are more scammers trying to sell miners here that start their posts like you do and then never deliver on anything, than there are legitimate sellers.

especially when the accounts are new accounts.
7576  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: S17 pro - TeslaWatt - Nevada on: November 14, 2019, 06:56:46 PM
Have any independent forum members visited and vouched for the TeslaWatt facilities?

not sure about a visit - but there have been a few members that hosted with them and purchased from them with no issues.

one of them being Biffa who is in the top 3 or 4 miners in hashrate on Kano.is pool
7577  Economy / Goods / Re: crazy online prices - on eBay for Bitmain S9's on: November 14, 2019, 06:56:01 PM

Buyer protection is huge.  I sold one gpu on ebay and it all went smooth, then the inevitable "unit didnt work" claim came in months later.  It was sealed in the box brand new and PayPal still sided with them.  Ebay is a joke.  Those prices are usually a ruse
It goes like this.  Set up a price for one @ $2k then set up another at $1k and make that look like a bargain.  It's a buy trap.  Steer clear if ebay and you will be good

Oh, I buy from eBay quite often - but I always do my own research before purchasing. As for selling - I have sold iPads, PC's, Laptops, Cameras, Miners etc - and have had zero returns and zero issues.

There was only one where the person who bought my scrypt miners could not get them working at first, but that was eventually resolved - If I recall, he just need to reset the pool information. The BWL21's were finicky at best and would not always save the information in the UI.
7578  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain to release S17E 64TH on: November 14, 2019, 04:44:19 AM
...

at least you got a reply - I asked about my refund/credit almost 4 days ago now.

also --- Now that Bitmain owes me a refund of 152.01 or 0.01822347 BTC based on the value of BTC at the time of purchase, 8341.44. Or because BTC is worth more and Bitmain owes me (instead of me owing them) is Bitmain going to claim that the refund will be processed at current BTC value?

basically meaning they will give me less BTC??

While that would be the fair answer overall - it would not be fair since they did not afford me that luxury when I was paying for my miner, BTC was near 9500 and they made me pay BTC amounts based on the 8300 value above because that was the value at the time I placed my order.

I cannot wait to hear the answer to this... I really expect them to be hypocrites and claim that they will do it at current BTC value, as that will save them BTC.
7579  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain to release S17E 64TH on: November 14, 2019, 02:32:42 AM
The only thing that is worrying me about the refund of these credits is what price will they take into account.
Will they take the price when I asked for refund (yesterday- 8750$), will they take the price of order (2019.09.09.-10256$)- I HOPE NOT, or will they take the price when they actually refund (which can be any day they choose).

my guess is they do whatever nets them more - when I did an order to try their 50% up front and 50% later (I paid only a few weeks after the first payment) the first half was when bitcoin was worth 8341.43 - when I made the second payment, I scanned their QR code and it told my wallet how much to send (USD) which my wallet sent that value - the problem was that bitcoin was worth 9610.92. Bitmain claimed I owed them still another $72 worth of BTC because they were valuing BTC at the 8300 price not the 9600 price. They said they do so to be more fair to their customers.... I am sure that if when I made the second payment, if BTC would have been worth 7,000 they would have not honored the 8341.43 price, nor would I expect them to. But in this case BTC was worth more so they used the lower value to get more BTC.

I will never do the 50/50 payment again unless I know that BTC will plummet in value right after the first payment so that my second payment will be worth more - but of course, how would I ever know that?
7580  Economy / Goods / Re: crazy online prices - on eBay for Bitmain S9's on: November 14, 2019, 01:45:22 AM
I imagine if any of those sold for those inflated prices, they’d be returned shortly thereafter causing headaches for everyone involved.

simply put, eBay allows a seller to list items as "not returnable" - then the only issue that can cause a return and subsequent refund is if the item does not work as specified. So, all they need to do is supply a miner that functions as it should - then the price does not matter as the buyer cannot return it simply because they do not like the price.

Buyers claiming a malfunction always receive the benefit of the doubt from PayPal/eBay regardless of what the seller says beforehand.

true - I did not think of that but if funds are released upon delivery - they are only held by PayPal until delivery - the seller can simply remove the funds from PayPal - unlink their banking info from the PayPal account and walk away. Then there are no funds to return to the buyer.
