I was investor n.3 or so, and at the time, price was 40K. When the price dropped to 20K, my XAI balance on the crowd fund page, doubled. Simply stated, the same BTC I sent originally, now got me double the amount of XAI coins. Cheers.

Quick post just to clarify that my suggestion to have a tighter max stake reward, does not change the absolute interest rate.
The interest rate would continue to sit at 1618%. The only consequence is that staking would become extremely competitive - sooner - and so not all blocks would be allowed their maximum reward.

Also, note that the max generation is always eventually reached at some point in the future. With the current specifications, perhaps the saturation point would take a year or two to reach. If we would change the max stake reward to be 10x smaller ( 61.8 ), we would simply hit that daily generation ceiling much sooner, likely in the range of a few months, and with a much smaller number of coins being generated per day.

I agree that we should not lower the absolute stake %. It's certainly one of the attractions to XQN, and if changing that now, late entrants to XQN would be penalized (making it a tougher sell, so to speak).

Not at all, it's just a subject that I'm really enthusiastic about, so you pretty much just challenged me to do some math!

You might find a Hyperstake.conf file in C:\Users\<yourusername>\AppData\Roaming\HyperStake.
If the file does not exist, you can create one (just use notepad or whatever, it's just a text file, but with .conf extension).

Then add/create this one entry on Hyperstake.conf:
(obviously, change 20 to whatever maximum of connections you want the wallet to have)

I would advise you not to have any less than 20 connections. A very small number of connections, is almost certain to earn you a high rate of stake orphanage, as you would be broadcasting your stakes to a 'smaller audience', so to speak.

Yes anticlimax, I do realize that there's very little impact to inflation with 1 XQN tx fees. In fact, I suggested that even a 5 XQN tx fee alone is not a sufficient measure. What's worse, high transaction fees, will tax the users that are most providing liquidity, while the stake % continues to reward hoarding above all else.

The reward cap does impact the network as I explained, but only when the network has reached a point of stake saturation (which might be many months away as per the current parameters). The saturation happens when the emission has grown to such numbers, that holders effectively have to increase their block sizes in order to stake. Once the necessary stake weight is high enough, all blocks will have to be very large, causing all stakes to end up being capped, and thus inflation itself is capped.

Note: this discussion is not particularly meaningful without some numbers to look at. If there isn't a volunteer to produce a couple of simulations, I'll try to get something done next week... Heck ... I clearly had too much free time on my hands...

So here is a quick simulation.
The line in blue is for the current XQN parameters, while in green is a simulation with max stake capped at 161.8 XQN. Both graphs are assuming perfect stake generation, meaning, that every single coin is staking, and weight/size is balanced to have max reward without spilling over.
In real world conditions, the timescale will extend to a much greater length, in any case, what's represented is 180 days.

Again, these are just simulations. In the real world, age is destroyed every time one combines/merges blocks, most blocks will not ever be hitting the max reward for the longest time, and coins moving around get their age reset. So the timescale is certainly off. However, the principles in question remain perfect valid.
I think that a tight max stake reward is the ideal way to control/limit inflation, and it does not rely or impose on a certain transactional velocity to achieve balance, it is an implicit brake on new coin generation once the current emission reaches a certain number.

If anyone cares, the maximum amount of XQN generated per day with the current stake cap is 875,088. We are obviously still very far from reaching an emission capable of generating that many coins per day. For this simulation, with stake capped at 161.8, the maximum amount of XQN generated per day would instead be 229,108.

A more aggressive stake cap could certainly be considered.
For example 61.8 (10 times less than current) would be an interesting case as well.

PS: I'm not trying to force any certain line of judgement here. Will be happy to take any and all constructive criticism!

Great sort-of-update Cedric! 

While I understand the need to control inflation, I'd suggest tightening the max stake reward cap to be a better solution than high tx fees being burned.

A tighter cap on max stake reward, promotes more & smaller inputs, which contributes to higher network security, and eventually causes inflation to be limited by means of max generation (max stake reward x stake units per day). Someone not-terrible-at-math could check how inflation would work out with a theoretical max stake for the entire coin supply everyday using the current reward cap, and comparatively, with a tighter reward cap (say 50% of the current maximum for example).

I'm also favorable to higher tx fees, but only as long as these are not discouraging to small transactions. In my mind, a reasonable number would be something along 0.5 ~ 1 XQN or thereabouts. Note: In any case, I don't see that tx fees alone - even as high as 5 XQN - are an effective inflation control mechanism.

Anyways, this just my personal opinion. I figure it's all food for thought.

There was never any large buy support, and most (but not all) buys have eaten straight off the ask side. The value right now is higher than 2 weeks ago, with some ups and downs along the way, as is to be expected. Meanwhile, anyone that is staking, has generally increased their position in terms of absolute number of coins. What the hell are you even talking about?

What's important, is to see development moving ahead. I think that with the XAI crowd funding taking up some of Cedric's time as well, it's only natural that it will be a couple of days before we have an update, perhaps only after the crowd funding is closed. There's also something about people eating turkey and going on a shopping spree, but I suppose that's not for everyone

I don't disagree with you gysca, but I would say that's how all High PoS crypto currencies work.
What's really special about this one, is that it is just in its infancy (so you get all the time in the world to maximize staking), and shows a lot of promise, particularly with the trading tools and media channel that the wallet will be boosting soon. I'd say it's the best time to pile up on as much as you can, and stake them ferociously!

Yes, your client is outdated. You will need 1.0.7.2 or higher for those extra commands (not sure if all are precisely worded above).
Importantly, the threshold value will need to be set at every wallet startup, unless you update all the way to 1.0.7.3 (latest), which is the version that implemented recording of the threshold on the wallet file.

While I'm happy to use the current CLI release, I firmly believe the webwallet will help boost adoption at least to small'ish holders that would otherwise not feel comfortable using the CLI or holding their balance on exchanges. I created an account and moved some Monero over to test it out, everything worked like a charm!

I just bumped my investment with the little extra that I could afford and I'm really looking forward to this project taking off.

To other investors that might still be on the fence:
Personally, while I'm optimistic, I still have a healthy dose of skepticism with regards to the long term goal of implementing a general purpose AI engine. I think that achieving this long term goal would be a massive event not just for crypto, but for all the industries and markets that would be impacted as well, but the journey will not be an easy one by any means.

What has me confident enough to actually put some money down for the crowd fund, is that I'm quite convinced that CedricQuotient has the skills and the tenacity necessary to drive home the fundamental short term goal, which is basic AI functionality providing an algorithmic trading framework.
This milestone alone, well justifies the investment and value proposition for XAI, and further, boosts the value of one's XQN holding as well.

My investment triggers are quite simple:
- low risk venture (solid project and very reasonable short term goals)
- high reward potential (adoption/usage opportunity is tremendous)

Just an interesting observation: There's only about 31K XQN on the top 50 sell orders @ Bittrex, where most XQN trading has been happening. One might complain that trade volume has not been huge, but quite literally, hodlers are very much hodling all of their XQNs. 

Hi PhilipMorris! It is most certainly worth it to transfer them to your wallet for staking. The returns are ~2% a day, with staking happening only after the minimum 8.88 days of maturing time (during which the coins must not be moved around).

You can transfer the coins to your wallet in one go, but then you must also split them into smaller units (blocks). The optimal block size at the moment is probably somewhere between 2K and 3K HYP (there's no magical number, or not one that I know of  ).

I would recommend you to join IRC and talk to the people there. It's a much better experience than what the bitcointalk forum can ever provide, and you can get someone to help out just about any time of day!

Here's my extremely simplified attempt.
Certainly someone that understands this better will add and correct as appropriately:

- The XAI network will provide a framework & tools for algorithmic trading (AIFX).
- The XQN wallet will pave the way by incorporating XAI's algorithmic trading tools.

- A XAI fee (or perhaps balance?) is required in order to access the trading tools, thus creating sustained XAI demand.
- A XQN fee is spent when running algorithmic trading. Widely used, this promotes XQN liquidity & demand as well.

There's a lot more of opportunity to be considered. I'm just trying to describe the fundamental short term goal that bridges XAI & XQN and how these two present something new and very relevant to the crypto trading community. Cheers!

I can't help but wonder how people will see themselves as 'investors' and yet have such reactionary tempers to a relatively modest change in terms. Refunds have always been available, so if unhappy, by all means go ahead and exercise your right to a refund.
Term changes have been generally presented as final, unless, as above, these were met with strong opposition by the community. Similarly, previous changes were generally well accepted (though not without minor opposition as well), and thus have persisted.

Can we focus on making sure that:
a) this project succeeds
b) early investors have an edge
c) late investors still have an opportunity ahead

If we all start obsessing over b), we will collectively ruin our changes of meeting a).
