I recently paid for some local tacos using Bitcoin. My friend who was unfamilar with Bitcoin thought it was strange, like I technically didn't pay for them or something. We got into discussing Bitcoin and one of the questions he asked me was:
"Why would you want Bitcoins instead of cash?". For a second I didn't know what to say; then I thought about it and here is what I came up with. Feel free to contribute to this.
1) More security (especially if you are careful).
2) Bitcoins are a potential investment, cash is not. Paper currency only really goes down in value, Bitcoins have a lot of potential to be worth more as time goes on.
3) Fast, worldwide transactions at your fingertips.
4) Similar to #3, but it's a universal currency. It's legal in most countries of the world and you don't need any kind of currency conversion to send money to people in a different country than your own.
I think every thing you wrote is truth, and i must say that i agree with most of it. But i am not sure if i can say that bitcoin is more secured than other currencies. At the moment there are no stores in my town where i could spend my bitcoins, but i hope that in future there will be. Only reason why i have bitcoin is because of its price growth. Price is going up so fast, and i think that is easy way of earning more money. |

The presence of bitcoin makes everyone happy and eager to divert the transaction from bank to bitcoin including crime, anonymous makes everything difficult to trace and that is the reason why bitcoin is favored by criminals.
Probably. Because of the anonymous of bitcoin they can use it to other reasons. Even that reason is bad and related to criminality. It doesnt matter on them, but the image of bitcoin might be affected people will only think that all the bitcoin comes from criminality amd people that are using it is criminal. That's why bitcoin education is very difficult for ordinary people, especially for those who have previously heard of criminality with bitcoin, as recently happened in the world of hacking WANNACRY who has requested payment with bitcoin. The reputation of bitcoin will continue to be bad if left alone and there must be a clever person to explain bitcoin well. I think that good side of bitcoin is whet make it endure all difficulties so far. Because most of people hear about bitcoin from some person that they know, and not from some media. There are those which learn about bitcoin in bad way, like with that virus or from person who was hit by it. But as long as there are more of those who know the truth, bitcoin will live on. |

For me its true because as you can see right now,bitcoin is popular especially in economy because they say that bitcoin is our new currency actually a digital currency. So it is possible to happen. Since it is also the way of earning and also a way of buying something but in the less hassle way. Because through internet you can access it also.

Like all things, you can invest a percentage of your money an save the other. That will guarantee you to be calm if bitcoin doesnt's works in the future, but i will suggest you to take the risk and invest your money.
I must say that i agree with you. So far every person that invested in bitcoin did not regret it later. And from what i know about bitcoin, it is good way of earning extra money. And also, i also do not support investing all your money in bitcoin, just in case something unexpected happen. No one can predict future with 100 percent success rate. |

If I have lot of bitcoin in my wallet then I won't hesitate in spending some of them when I am in need of money and most of them I will save for the future and use of them in trade and investment to grow my bitcoins in long term so even if I spend them sometimes I always have an chance to recover them back by investing them in trading.
Just like what you have said I like to spend some on important purposes because I am earning to support all what I need without depending on others. It feels nice to buy things you want from the money that you make an effort and hardwork to have. I will save some and make an investment for the future purposes. I guess it is only natural if people want to spend some amount of their earning. What would be a point, if people would only work and not spending their money. But also it would be very wise to save some of earned bitcoins, because till now bitcoin did not disappoint with rising of price. |

Cash has survived the test of time. Bitcoin is a little spec on a huge scale. Don't get me wrong, I believe the reward is high for bitcoin but the risk may be even higher.
Without risking anything we may not get either anything. If we don't want development or innovation,we can't get anything. So better be smart on risking our money. Having bitcoin for savings can be a good deal when done wth research. I thing this means that supply is limited and noone can just print more mony. the ussr there was a day when the government decided to divide the value of it is officially. currency. Bitcoin is the similar service is use full to transferring of money. Bitcoin is the future currency. it a safe Mony. I would not say that bitcoin is safe money, there are still ways that some one can lose dealing with bitcoins. I can say that i agree with you that bitcoin or some kind of cryptocurrency is future. There are some other ways to promote website, but it involve investing some small amount of money. Facebook offers that service, youtube also have some kind of advertising program. |

Hi all,
I have all my BTC on Electrum since 2013.
Now this hardfork is coming and I'm not sure what to do.
Please can you tell me if I should quickly download BTC core wallet and transfer all BTC there or should I just leave all BTC on Electrum ?

Than you are in same dilemma like i am. I have some small part of my bitcoins on some other wallet. I was also thinking what is going to happen with my money on that other wallet, and therefor i have come to an conclusion that either i will transfer that money to blockchain, or i will take and change to fiat. |

Bitcoin is a blessing to some of us here. We can testify, how since the beginning of this year that, we have make alot of return on our investment in bitcoin. I foreseeing bitcoin touching $4,000 before the end of October this year. Hope you join us in this less risk investment.
I can agree with you that bitcoin is blessing to some of us. Over the years price of bitcoin had its ups and downs, but it always went beck up, and sometime even more than we expect it to. It is possible, but i do not think that it will hit 4000 dollars till end of October, i thought it will hit 3000 till the end of June, but i was wrong. |

Well i would say that it is both. Why would i say that, well it is simple. People use it to buy things, and also people are get payed with bitcoins for jobs they have done, like in signature campaigns. Also it is a digital gold, because most of us made money on price rise (keeping it for longer time). So i guess it is both, at least that is for me.

But my question is that, is it late to buy bitcoin? Should i wait maybe bitcoin price will decline after 1st August meeting? I do think that before 1st of August there will be big selling, which means price of bitcoin will be going down. If you are not scared from what will happen after segwit, than it is best time to buy before 1st of August. Also i do think that bitcoin will continue living, so i do not see why would someone be scared of scaling. Time for buying bitcoin is always good. |

I believe that they're popular mainly because well it was the first of all cryptocurrencies to be made. Honestly most of the other coins are scams and greedy ways that the developers make money. The only other coin I can think of that isn't a scam are dogecoins! What do you think?
Well i can not say that altcoins are scamming coins, there are some altcoins that are really strong and stable. Well i guess that bitcoin is most popular because like you said, it was the first in crypto currency business. That was really big deal, in crypto currency world. I have read in the news that that like bitcoin as virtual currencies are assets and does not have the characteristics or what it takes to be a currency that could meet our modern economic needs. It was said that it does not have the fundamental attributes. What are your thoughts about it?

If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house?
Ive been thinking if it went into very high figures i could cash out 80-90% of bitcoin and buy a house outright with no mortgage. Is that even a good idea though? - basically 80% of networth in a house hmmm. On the other hand i dont want to have a mortgage and im fed up with renting due to landlords, letting agents and lack of control.
I think that is really good idea. I mean, you would be spending your saving on something that is really important. Buying a house is not small thing, and it needs a lot of founds. If you have enough bitcoins to buy a house, and you need house, i do not see why you would not buy it. That would be best thing someone bought with bitcoins that i know of so far. So i was thinking if i send a bitcoin transaction without the miner fee or a very low fee what will happen ? would i get the coins back eventually ? or they will just stuck there forever ! and if that happened how to do that double spend ?
I am not sure if you can put zero as a transaction fee, i think that is not possible. But as far as lower transaction fee is concerned, that is possible. You can put it, but your transaction will not be confirmed. You will get your money back... in time. But that means that your founds would be stuck, for long time... And that is not something anybody wants right. |
