... so yeah, I was looking into solar powered mining (low wattage system does = to low hashing rate sadly) but that makes it basically 100% profit to me (unless I buy up the battery and panels)

Still confused by the concept of pool mining and what "shares" are

This topic might be helpful.

thanks, but how does the clients who present a valid proof of work? and what is "proof of work" isn't a correct hash = to a generated block? and what is stopping me from making a client work on a pooled block finding the correct hash, and calming it for itself instead of the pools?

heh, don't get into trading and stock markets, you'll see this all over the place, yes, BTC will fluctuate, but there is worse out there, and backed by gold or something from the banks

if you have 1 gram to every coin, go for it, to my knowledge, you cant virtually peg it to something, it needs to be backed by it

So, here I am, all I wanted to do is ask some questions about how mining pools work, like how does the system work (you, your hashes, the server, bandwidth between client server, what "shares" are, whats the difference between a share and a hash, how does the system prove your work to get your share in the pools block, etc, etc...).

Yeah there is a search function, but you have to be specific with your words, and if you don't know what words to search for (eg, search "Proof of work" you get 90% back with "of" and net"work" the 1st 2 has proof in it, but doesn't cover what I want.)

so, time to sit back, buckle up and ride the wait train outa here!
