7741  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-12] Stablecoins Gaining Popularity in India on: August 13, 2018, 01:56:52 AM
@marx. How can they? The RBI cannot enforce anything legally without setting an unfavorable precedent that might affect their country to be the last adopters of the cryptospace.

It would also negatively make a legal precedent on other message passing apps like Wechat and all text messenging software because cryptocoin platforms are nothing be software for message passing.
7742  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-10] Bitcoin Core Developer Reveals ‘Critical’ Bug in Bitcoin Cash on: August 13, 2018, 01:17:48 AM
That is true. No matter what the differences between the various streams are, it makes sense for us to ensure that faith in the crypto ecosystem stays.
Not entirely true. If it was Roger Ver knowing that there was a critical bug in Bitcoin, he would probably leave it there for ever or try to exploit it himself to boost his Bcash toy.

He is emotionally connected to Bcash and it's extremely unhealthy as we can clearly see. He doesn't skip one opportunity to trash talk Bitcoin and he has even been scamming people on top of that.

They even "officially" celebrated the rebirth of Bitcoin and gave it the name Bitcoin (BCH). It's disgusting but there isn't much that we can do. Roger has a mission and he has gone all in to accomplish that.

Agreed. The bitcoin developers should never help bitcoin cash and should let it die as quickly as possible. But it also showed bitcoin's developers unselfish nature and the selfless concern for the community of the altcoin bcash hehehe.

Also, the person that should give the most thanks is Jihan.

7743  Economy / Economics / Re: Be ready for gold's bullish wave on: August 12, 2018, 01:56:21 AM
Also, do you really want bitcoin to reach a state of stability in its present price?

The main point is it can't. Bitcoin is simply too small. Any deep pocket moves are going to result in volatility. For as long as the marketcap is lower than a couple trillion dollars, volatility will not be reduced to gold's.

I expect Bitcoin to move $10,000 up and $10,000 down by the time we are at 6 figures, kind of like what the Berkshire Hathaway type A stock does, but overall % of volatility will be much lower in absolute terms.

So we just have to way, the money will come. If the elites want to keep their wealth they must diversify some on Bitcoin.

Goldbugs will remain deluded into the fact that gold is pretty much useless in the information age, it's a lost cause I guess.

Yes but what I was asking was if you, I assume as a bitcoin holder, want for bitcoin to reach a state of stability in its present price going from $6000 to $8000.

Won't it be good for its adoption as a stable currency?
7744  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io - Now accepting Ethereum!⚽ 🏆 Top Booster Price Boost Promo 🎉 on: August 12, 2018, 01:34:08 AM
@ralle14. Then it will be good to make the priceboosts more competitive for the more regular Sportsbet users to make them stay, I reckon.

Start the priceboosts as normal, then as the user makes regular bets, improve his boosts and make them more competitive than other sportsbooks.

7745  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AEON [2018-07-12: update to 0.12.5.0+] on: August 12, 2018, 01:26:27 AM
Good. We as a community should start asking small exchanges to list Aeon. It is easier to maintain the node, it is anonymous enough and it has made more cautious development decisions compared to that of Monero.

Also, Monero's 6 month hardfork cycle might become dangerous as the coin grows in utility.
7746  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-10] Half of the US adults have little to no understanding of crypto on: August 12, 2018, 12:32:24 AM
You can apply this to almost any new technology. It will have been the same for computers, cell phones, debit/credit cards. I remember my father telling me he didn't even have a TV for the first few years of his life. My gran won't or can't use computers. I remember her struggling with her bank card when she first got it. I also remember getting my first computer at about 8 or 9 and they were very expensive. I didn't have a mobile phone until about 12/13. Kids probably have their own laptops and phones from a very early age and just look at all the technology in the smartphone that a 5 year old probably has. It has everything I've just mentioned plus infinitely more. All you need is a phone or tablet to use bitcoin and you're good to go. Many of the kids today are more technically knowledgeable than most adults but over time more adults will become aware of crypto and likely start to use it, but it's still a relatively niche thing and certainly not for everyone.

Agreed. I reckon the people born after the creation of bitcoin, after 2009, will make the difference. Once they become fledging adults, they would already know of the cryptospace as something that is already a part of society, and it would be so ordinary to them.

@smooth. How much bigger is Monero's blockchain versus Aeon's blockchain? I reckon Aeon might be in a better position for the longterm because it is more sustainable to run on dedicated hardware because of the smaller blocks.

7748  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io - Now accepting Ethereum!⚽ 🏆 Top Booster Price Boost Promo 🎉 on: August 11, 2018, 01:45:20 AM
@sportsbet.io. About your priceboosts, do you give more of them to regular sportsbettors in your site, or is it a one time use, no refill attribute?

Also, I reckon you should use the priceboost more to promote the site hehehe.
7749  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-10] Half of the US adults have little to no understanding of crypto on: August 11, 2018, 01:33:17 AM
How many people in America have held or is holding bitcoin or other cryptocoins today? I reckon maybe less than 10%, or it might be even less than 6%?

That is similar to the adoption rate of the internet during 1995 - 1998. We should consider ourselves lucky to have found the cryptospace this early hehehe.
7750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Class action suit continues for Tezos token creators on: August 11, 2018, 01:15:06 AM
Is there a Tezos ICO participant in the forum and who is active in the Tezos community? I want to ask how the development of the project is and what is the chance that the lawsuit will succeed for the complainants?

Also, who is Tezos' lawyers leading the defense?

7752  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-09] Australia Could See First Solar-Powered Bitcoin Mining Farm in Coal on: August 10, 2018, 01:35:30 AM
We all know that one factors that those anti bitcoin used against us is the amount needed to operate a bitcoin mining farm. And they want as far as saying that its affecting the environment. Now, with the news that Australia would tap and used solar as a renewable source to mine bitcoin. Its cheap and its abundance in Australia. This is a great opportunity and we might see Australian companies looking at this ventures in the future. And we can also mitigated the massive electricity it demands and well as the impact on the environment.

How much cheaper or more expensive would renewable energy use be for the miners in a developed country? I reckon coal, up to now, is the cheapest method to generate electricity, especially in developing countries.
7753  Economy / Speculation / Re: ETF postponed creates another dip on: August 10, 2018, 01:13:23 AM
This would be a nice time to see a beartrap. Smiley

I reckon it is. When the date approaches near September 30, we would see the same people who sold on $7000 and lower, buy again on $8000 hehehe. If there is a dump back to $7000, they sell again with a loss.

7754  Economy / Services / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io 🚀 [Signature Campaign] 🚀 [Up to $120/week] on: August 10, 2018, 01:09:25 AM

7755  Economy / Speculation / Re: ETF postponed creates another dip on: August 09, 2018, 03:00:31 AM
This sensational fuss over the ETF is borderline lunacy. It's just another reason to jerk the price around and stop out everyone who hid under the 7000 level or wherever. I'm getting sick and tired of these 30,000 by Dec / 50,000 by Oct / 100,000,000 by 2020 forecasts. How in the hell can anyone have a true idea of what the coin's value is going to be if there are no fundamental values to base a judgement on? Forecasters have a hard enough time doing it even when the values do exist.

This dip is just another good reason to hang on and chill out. It's not the doom, and the ETF isn't the future.

Agreed. But also, why are the people dumping with a loss now? That would be a mistake. The article says that the decision was postponed only until September 30. It might be better for them to hold a while longer and sell on a better price.

7756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Class action suit continues for Tezos token creators on: August 09, 2018, 02:24:30 AM
I reckon this Tezos lawsuit will be made the prima donna of all ICO and illegal token sales in America. I hate ICO scams the same as the most of you, but it would be important for the cryptospace if Tezos was to win the lawsuit to set a good precedent for a less regulated and democratized way for funding new startups.

The dispute, launched by plaintiff Arman Anvari is based on whether the Tezo’s creators actually held an ICO. According to the docket, the Breitmans referred to their ICO as a fundraiser, and purposely did not use such terminology such as ICO during their token sale. The defendants are therefore accused of violating the U.S Securities Commision (SEC) regulations as the lawsuit will determine whether they held an unregistered securities sale in the U.S. The judge dismissed the Breitmans’ motion that their “fundraiser” fell out of SEC’s jurisdiction because it was administered by the Tezos Foundation, which is based in Switzerland.

The judge also noted that the Anvari’s token purchase was hosted on a server located in Arizona, and that their marketing efforts almost “exclusively targeted US residents.”

The plaintiff, Arman Anvari had named several people in his suit, including Tim Draper who is a venture capitalist who publicly backed the project and invested $500,000 (USD) for a ten percent share of DLS. Draper has been dismissed with a leave to amend, meaning that he may still be named if new information is provided to the court exemplifying how the plaintiff was persuaded to buy Tezos coins based on Draper’s recommendation. Another firm, Bitcoin Suisse AGO was used to provide intermediate transactions between Tezos and their investors. Bitcoin Suisse has been completely dismissed as a defendant as their involvement is not substantial.

7757  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-08] US SEC Postpones Decision Regarding Bitcoin Exchange Traded Fund. on: August 09, 2018, 01:48:02 AM
dude, I woke up, I turned on my computer and entered the coinmarketcap and I had a big fright, I can not believe what I'm seeing, the price of bitcoin fell to  $6500, but that was already expected, what shocked me was that:

Ethereum: $375,37

NEO: $23,93

Lisk: $3,60

Litecoin: $66,71

What the hell do people have in their heads? if only because the SEC said it will not decide on August 10 and decided to postpone by September 30th and people are selling cryptos to the point of having a fall of more than 9%, this shows that this market is being manipulated and with this attitude the SEC can disapprove any ETF.

Maybe they are dumping them to hold bitcoin or to hold fiat to buy bitcoin under $6000 to prepare for the bull rally on September 30 hehehe. They are making an effort to maximize their profits and gains.

Also, I reckon all markets are manipulated by the whales of that market. Do you think Warren Buffet became a billionaire only because he was a hard worker?
7758  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-07] Bitcoin Speculators, Not Drug Dealers, Dominate Crypto Use Now on: August 09, 2018, 01:32:44 AM
I agree, criminals before has a lot of room to work using bitcoin but now different agencies find ways to track those criminals through blockchain analysis. And we all know that bitcoin is not really anonymous and criminals recognized this the hard way. Maybe some of them are still using crypto to hide their illegal activity, but sooner or later the full hands of the law will be knocking at their doors.

Criminals have moved on to privacy coins like Monero, although if you take extortion schemes like ransomware, Bitcoin is still used because it's more likely that the victims will pay with it rather than some privacy coin, because it's harder to buy the latter. This has contributed to decrease of the percentage of criminal transactions, but the biggest factor is that other uses cases have increased. What would be actually interesting is the absolute values of illegal transactions per day in early days and today.

Criminals shifting from bitcoin to monero still means that the whole cryptocurrency still dominates the means of transactions especially in the darkweb. Privacy coins should not be encouraged and should be removed in the blockchain system.

If you truly believe that, then you are missing the whole point of Bitcoin: it was started so people can do whatever they want with their money, without anyone else interfering. There's no such thing as "blockchain system", there are peer-to-peer networks that can not be taken down. You can ask exchanges to delist privacy coins, you can ask government to ban them, but you'll never be able to stop them.

I reckon we should also ask the banks not to accept dollars and euros, and also ask the government to ban them hehehe. They are the most used currencies in the criminal underworld.

Also, why should we stop there? We can ask the goverment to ban carpentry and gardening tools because they can be used for killing people hehehe.

7760  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-07] Bitcoin Speculators, Not Drug Dealers, Dominate Crypto Use Now on: August 08, 2018, 02:28:41 AM
Why only now? I reckon it has always been that way. Holders, which coins are obtained from buying, trading or mining, are also considered as speculators.

Also, the volumes of bitcoin used in the darknet drug trade were always overestimated by the news media to create FUD.
