7121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Weiss Ratings 7 forecasts 2019 on: January 10, 2019, 12:40:45 AM
I followed your tip of skipping the rest and proceeded to #7. Giving such confidence to their readers and giving a tip on what they should buy really gives them the confidence that 'hey we should buy what Weiss ratings said'.

Suddenly, dump starts to begin when the coin pumps.

Devs and holders of that coins feels like  Cool

It only reveals how corrupted the ratings businesses are. It was already demonstrated during the financial crisis of 2008 when the ratings agencies, Moody's, Standard & Poor and Fitch Ratings were bribed to give triple A ratings to junk investments.

I reckon that we might be looking at a similar scenario in the cryptospace.

7123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I LOST OVER 10 BTC IN GAMBLING IN 2018 on: January 09, 2019, 01:00:18 AM
@niceboy999. Was that why you were asking a loan without collateral that got you the negative trust? hehehe

My best advice to you would be, stop gambling. 10 bitcoin is too much to lose in gambling maybe except if you are a whale, which I reckon you are not.
7124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night 143 on: January 09, 2019, 12:48:06 AM
We will all be watching this match with much interest

Paige VanZant vs. Rachael Ostovich

I hate to see such hotties with bodies try to bloody each other, but it is what it is

Yes Max, I mean mich, it is what it is hehehe.

In any case, UFC fight night 143 might not see as many viewers because the casual fans will watch Manny Pacquiao versus Adrien Broner. I admit I would choose to watch Manny than TJ and Henry Cejudo. However if Mighty Mouse Johnson was the UFC flyweight champion, it would be a hard decision hehehe.
7125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tone Vays Is 85% Certain Bitcoin (BTC) Hasn’t Hit True Bottom on: January 09, 2019, 12:26:34 AM
The hate in the thread is flowing for Tone Vays hehehe. Does that imply that bitcoin might not have hit its true bottom? Similar to what occured when the doubters denied 2017's bull market, the market was doing the opposite.
7126  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kraken law enforcement requests triple in 2018 on: January 09, 2019, 12:10:34 AM
Over the counter trading is the best thing I read in a while, for sure we need more activity and trust in this forum. I am sick of publishing my personal data on suspicious exchanges (for simple and small amounts cca. $300). Those freaks from cex.io almost asked for blood analysis and stool analysis. Would be handy to have trustful people in the community we can always relay on and trade without fees.

Agreed. We can also use localbitcoins.com as an escrow service. However I am not certain if the site allows accounts with no verification to trade. 2 years ago they did but only with other users that have no verification.

In any case, it might work. The buyer or seller can post in the forum and send his localbitcoins buy or sell link privately.
7127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Weiss Ratings 7 forecasts 2019 on: January 08, 2019, 03:56:07 AM
Read forecast no.7 again, which pumping Holochain and Hedera I reckon, is the main reason why Weiss publicly released their forecasts.

After 2 days it is followed up with this article posted everywhere in bitcoin news media hehehe. The pump begins.

Holochain (HOT) Up 25% On Rising Volume and Positive Weiss Predictions

Holochain (HOT) surged to 25% gains late on Sunday, possibly buoyed by its very positive appraisal in the latest crypto-predictions by the good people at Weiss Cryptocurrency Ratings. Roll Eyes

7129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [AEON] Aeon Speculation on: January 07, 2019, 02:35:53 AM
Our dumping whale appears to be gone. I reckon he might have also been responsible for market making aeon on Bittrex. The volume has never been this low for an extended period of time when he was still active.
7130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Litecoin-UFC Partnership Lead to Mass Adoption? on: January 07, 2019, 02:16:52 AM
@passwordnow. It is for that rationalization why we might witness one of litecoin's biggest pumps during the next bull market. Those rationalizations being, Charlie Lee is a wolf in sheep's clothing and that he is making his moves for spreading litecoin's brand awareness.

This might be a sign that he is buying low and setting up litecoin for its biggest pump.
Yeah, interesting. He won't such precious time to promote the project he sold most of his holdings if its not on his benefits. I think seeing such moves are good indication that there's something positive that's about to come to us. Like what he did, he's aware that the market will go through a correction and he sold everything, as in all. The last time I saw Litecoin, price was $24-$25 and its raised to $33 as of the moment.

Yes, he is a crafty person, Charlie Lee hehehe. The pump also occured earlier than I thought. This might be the beginning of his great litecoin pump.

In any case, personal disclosure, I do not hold litecoins. I am an aeon bagholder hehe.

7131  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tone Vays Is 85% Certain Bitcoin (BTC) Hasn’t Hit True Bottom on: January 07, 2019, 01:48:29 AM
I kinda agree with his prediction (despite the fact that he is a "bear" and he is dying to see a lower bitcoin price). The true bottom will be around 2-3K USD and any new ATH will happen after the next 2020 halving.
It takes a lot of time to build some new hype around bitcoin. The market is insecure and the fear dominates over the greed.

For everyone's information, he is not a bear. He is one of the most maximalist of all the bitcoin maximalists in the cryptospace. For him, any cryptocoin that is not a bitcoin is a scam hehehe. He trades both directions of the market, however.
7132  Economy / Exchanges / Kraken law enforcement requests triple in 2018 on: January 07, 2019, 01:34:35 AM
I assume many people, up to this time, give exchanges their identities because they think that they have no other choice. However, we should make them stop or make it known to them that they will be added to the CIA database hehehe.

In any case, I reckon we should start encouraging the use of the forum for more active, simple, over the counter cryptocoin trading and conversions.

In a sneak peek of its yearly transparency report, Kraken, one of the leading U.S. based cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced that law enforcement requests have tripled since 2017 — with the bulk of these requests coming from the U.S.

In terms of numbers, U.S. Law enforcement agencies alone made 315 requests in 2018, more than five times higher than any other country that year. Besides the U.S., the United Kingdom, Germany, and France made the highest number of requests — with 61, 34 and 20, respectively — in 2018.

Of the 315 requests made by U.S. law enforcement agencies, more than a quarter was made by the department of homeland security (HSI), with 91 requests in the last year. Besides the HSI, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and U.S. Secret Service (USSS) were the sources of most requests.

Surprisingly, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission was behind relatively few requests, making just 19 requests in the last year — less than half of that made by the Drug Enforcement Administration in the same year.

In other news, Kraken also highlighted its stance on the U.S. Operation Choke Point, a federal initiative that saw U.S. banks investigated for their involvement with merchants in high-risk activity categories, including online gambling, coin dealing, and pornography.

According to Kraken, cryptocurrency serves as the last report for digital payments, stating that the initiative was only effective because many businesses rely on credit cards provided by banking institutions.

Operation Choke Point has previously been criticized for driving more than 30 high-risk industries away from public banking systems despite being perfectly legal. The threat of investigation by the Department of Justice led many banks to cut ties with businesses within these industries, with JP Morgan alone closing more than 100,000 accounts in response.

It has been argued that many of these businesses have been forced to begin accepting cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin for their services, which may explain part of the extreme growth the cryptocurrency industry witnessed between 2013 and 2017.

The heavy-handed approach used in Operation Choke Point led to the closure of the bank accounts of many companies involved in industries with a higher risk of fraud or money laundering.

However, the benefits of such an effort may be short-lived, as forcing these bad actors to begin accepting cryptocurrencies for their goods and services may eventually make fraud, tax evasion, and money laundering much more difficult to track and control, since many cryptocurrencies are essentially anonymous.

7133  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-02] HitBTC freezes customer funds before proof of keys event on: January 07, 2019, 12:47:02 AM
@1Referee. Agreed. However, exchanges already do have shit on us. They ask for our identities, control the amount we can withdraw and might also freeze our accounts if they found more shit they do not like.

Also if an exchange begun offering interest, would you trade in the one without or the one with? I reckon many people will go to the one with.
7134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Weiss Ratings 7 forecasts 2019 on: January 06, 2019, 03:48:27 AM
Skip forecasts 1 to 6 and read forecast no.7 hehehe. That is what Weiss is setting up the readers of this article for from the beginning. They want you to buy the scams that they have speculated in or the scams that they were paid to hype and advertise.

Each model is driven by tens of thousands of data points analyzed weekly. And both come together to support seven forecasts for 2019 and beyond …

Forecast #1

Bitcoin will be increasingly used as a store of value.

Bitcoin costs virtually nothing to store. It’s extremely efficient to transport. It’s secure. And it cannot be confiscated by any government.

No other asset provides that combination of properties. And consequently, no other asset can currently compete with Bitcoin as a store of value.

Result: Bitcoin is on its way to becoming a veritable digital gold.

Forecast #2

The price of Bitcoin will rise again and head for new all-time highs.

Through 2015, Bitcoin had suffered four bear markets with declines of 70% or more.

Each time, the so-called “experts” wrote its obituary. But each time, Bitcoin recovered and embarked on a new bull market that delivered average gains of 6,300% from bottom to peak.

Then, last year, we witnessed Bitcoin’s fifth major bear market. And again, experts came out of the woodwork to declare that “Bitcoin is dead.”

What few people recognize is that, thanks to the 2018 price declines, most of the weakest hands in the market have departed. Meanwhile, stronger diehard believers have held firm or even accumulated more Bitcoin.

Distributed Ledger Technology has continued to advance, as major progress was made in fixing known deficiencies in first-generation cryptos.

Among select coins, adoption has improved dramatically.

And overall, the groundwork was laid for a new bull market.

Result: In 2019, much as it did after prior bear markets, Bitcoin will again rise up and head for new all-time highs.

Forecast #3

Select altcoins will rise from relative obscurity to as much as 20 times their previous all-time highs.

Altcoins are typically less well-known and less liquid. But among them, a select few with superior technology will get traction in the real world with increasing adoption. They will ultimately return to their all-time highs. And some could rise a lot further — to as much as 20 times their prior peaks.

Forecast #4

A select group of cryptos will compete to build a new kind of internet.

Coins like EOS, Cardano, Holochain and others are currently leading the charge to create Internet 3.0 — a more secure and more sustainable worldwide web.

Other cryptos are in the wings and not yet even on the market. Meanwhile, many me-too competitors are also jumping into this space.

Most will eventually fail. But the potential prize is enormous. If the most advanced cryptocurrencies succeed in creating Internet 3.0 as proposed, they could someday be worth trillions of dollars in market cap.

Forecast #5

Another select group of cryptocurrencies will disrupt the world of banking.

Bitcoin was created to be a new kind of digital payment network, but has so far failed to achieve that goal.

Meanwhile, however, Ripple’s XRP and Stellar are rising to the challenge. They have the potential to disrupt financial markets, remittances, wire transfers and much more.

Ripple’s XRP, in particular, is aiming to disrupt SWIFT, the giant payments network of the global banking system. If it can manage to chip away at SWIFT’s market share and even replace it in some areas, there’s a chance that XRP could eventually become the world’s No. 1 cryptocurrency.

Forecast #6

Bitcoin me-too coins will fade away.

Many cryptocurrencies are going to disappear for the simple reason that they bring virtually nothing new to the table.

Even among the top 10 by market cap, several fit this description, including Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV and Litecoin.

There’s no innovative use case for them. They’re likely to fade away over time.

Forecast #7

New coins will rocket to the top 10.

New coins like Holochain, Hedera Hashgraph and others, although still relatively obscure today, will burst onto the scene and could rocket to the top 10 by market cap.

These are non-blockchain distributed ledger projects that could become the new trust layer of the internet. As such, their tokens could rise in value more rapidly than those of their blockchain competitors.

7135  Economy / Speculation / Tone Vays Is 85% Certain Bitcoin (BTC) Hasn’t Hit True Bottom on: January 06, 2019, 03:30:29 AM
This is Tone Vays. The person who predicted that bitcoin's all time high will be about $7000 on 2017. I reckon it was where he liquidated his long positions hehehe.

In any case, will he be wrong again on predicting the bottom? Arthur Hayes of Bitmex predicted his bottom on $2500.

In a recent episode of On The Record, Vays spoke with Murad Mahmudov on all things crypto, revealing that he’s 85% certain that Bitcoin has not yet made a true bottom.

In fact, Vays believes that there’s a 40% chance that the true bottom will be between $1-2K and that there is a 10% chance that Bitcoin will go under $1,000. Based on the discussion, it seems that Vays agrees many altcoins are still far too expensive for the bear market to be over. This includes names like Ethereum (ETH), EOS, Cardano (ADA), XRP and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).

On the other end of the spectrum, Vays predicts that the crypto market will not see all-time highs again, including Bitcoin to $20K, likely until 2020. That means that he sees the next two years as a choppy trading environment.

@BitHolder. I reckon interest bearing accounts are the next step in development among exchanges. It would also be good used as a marketing and promotional tool to attract users.

I predict that Coinbase will be one of the first exchanges to have it.
7137  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-01-03] Hacker Group: Pay Bitcoin Ransom or We’ll Release 9/11 Papers on: January 05, 2019, 04:15:27 AM
This is harsh, and curious that they are requesting bitcoin rather than monero. For something as big as this you would think that they would ask for payment in privacy coins like xspec instead

I almost wanted to give you a merit for your reply right until I read that you also recommended xspec hehehe.

In any case, agreed. The Darkoverlord hacking group might still have to learn more about the cryptospace before making cryptocoin ransoms.

I'm actually glad that people didn't respond to this, because that would be an absolute nightmare. If one person could get people to do this, it would show how much more stupid the majority is.

I would be shocked to find out that exchanges don't gamble with people's funds on the market. It's easy to access, and they have enough in their reserve to have the small minority that does cash out still cash out.

Banks haven't been doing anything else throughout their existence with people's funds, so why should crypto exchanges be different? Most of them are even more shady....

I reckon that would be a reason more to respond to it and withdraw their coins. Yes, we know that exchanges gamble with the people's funds. However there should be transparency.

In any case, exchanges should offer interest bearing accounts that are opt in to give the people the choice if they want their funds to be gambled or not.
7140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquaio vs. Adrien Broner on: January 05, 2019, 03:15:58 AM
What are the possibilities for Floyd versus Pacman 2 if Manny wins dominantly where he gives Adrien Broner a pair of biological sunglasses hehehe? High chance, medium or low?

Actually, there's a high possibility of a rematch between Floyd and Manny but I eill not be surprised if some audience will be no longer interested because even me was really disappointed on their last match. I thought that it will be a bloody and action packed but it wasn't. Floyd do nothing but to run, do some punches and run again Roll Eyes.

For me, a more interesting fight to look forward is between Pacman and Maidana. I really exvited for this one, I hope it will happen soon.

The last fight of Pacman and Mayweather was called "the Fight of the Century, or the Battle for Greatness" and it happened last 2015, that was 3 years ago, maybe after the fight we thought of not watching them again in case there's a possible rematch but people had forgotten that already, now they are making their names heard again and the hype starts.

I was one of the disappointed boxing fan on their last fight but now I'm ready to watch them fight again, I'm sure pacman has no excuses now.

I reckon Manny fell victim to the I cannot lose therefore I will make an excuse syndrome after the loss and a lackluster performance. However, similiar to the cryptospace, if the everyone is ready for another ICO scam hype again, then do the show. I also am ready hehehe.

Also, Manny has tweeted that for 2019, he will only fight experienced fighters who are the same size as him or bigger. A jab to Floyd when he fought Tenshin hehehe.
