781  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: VEGA 64 mining FREE WISDOM on: December 09, 2017, 08:25:21 PM
my local supplier komplett.no has no air cooled 64's (they have a handful liquid cooled ones) and neither do any shops i have looked at here in Norway

komplett have made a monster order for about 200 64's expected to arrive 2nd Jan from all manufacturers apart from MSI (which is the ones i use now)
Saphire seems to be the manufacturer with the greatest supply at the moment but no delivery until the 2nd Jan unconfirmed!!

this is getting crazy, i bought my cards for around $650 a couple of months ago and now the cheapest listing i can find is $750 (current ROI 24days mining ETH)
sounds like a gold rush no?
think i will put my money where my mouth is and pay for another 3 ($2250) to go with another ASUS mobo i paid for waiting arrival on 17th Dec
i dont like paying for anything without getting it in my hand instantly, but i fear these cards will disapear as soon as they are in stock

i know people, i could use that money to buy 11 lesser cards to fit my current rig (ASUS has 19PCIe but can only run 8 VEGAs with current drivers) but hey, i set myself down this path and have gotten quite competent in their use, so why change that which works

can you find any VEGA64's in your area? if so how much are they going for?

How do you ROI $750 in 24days mining Eth lol

yea soz, should of explained that better, at current ETH price and with my current rig setup im averaging $850/mnth, thats the number i was thinking about to come up with 24day ROI on 1 card

i could just switch over to XMR and pay the 3 card cost with my current rig in 1.5mnths approx excluding the gains from 3 more gpus but then again as i have mentioned before im looking years down the line and much much much grander scale of which i made positive steps today

found a 450m cold storage warehouse and agreed a rental price, talked to the local electricity supplier and they are willing to go below $0,0325 kWh with high use (over 500Amps) , im writting up the business model as we speak and stop to come back here to answer all you good people (my daughter is waiting for me to help her buy her first CryptoKittie as well, she has 0,052ETH in her JAXX wallet lol)

if my numbers dont make sense please excuse me as i am immersed in calculations at the mo

You can't calculate ROI with GPU's you already own paying off a new GPU.   Cheesy

So i've been doing some experimenting with the vega myself. Vega 56 to be specific.

Turns out you can get decent profits on monacoin(lyra2rev) using mkxminer. Breakeven in about 3-4 months for just the card.

I strongly believe too that with driver advancements, the vega will perform a lot better. There is just so much compute power in it when you do the math.

What are you getting 47Mh/s with Vega and lyra2rev?  This puts it a little behind 1950h/s on Cryptonight, but it is definitely a good alternative.
784  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Lots of network issues with several Vertcoin pools on: December 09, 2017, 06:41:45 PM
Yeah, I'll definitely be trying different miners out after the network connectivity issue is sorted out.

I probably should have mentioned that I had the occasional "stratum port disconnected" error when mining Ubiq to Pool Sexy, but no full-blown disconnects. I stopped mining Ubiq temporarily because the difficulty spiked to 25 from 15 (!!!) and I wanted to try other coins/algorithms out. Vertcoin was my second choice but since that hasn't worked too well I am now crunching away on Zcash at nanopool (I am also trying different pools as well as coins at this point).

Might just be your internet.

786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Nanopool now has an Electroneum pool! on: December 09, 2017, 12:58:26 PM
I have 35 share but i cant see my stats. It is saying

Account
not found
Remember: to add your account to the database you should find at least one share

it takes time to load up the information, wait at least 15-30mins, I'd tried the pool seems it is not a realtime with delays, the pool luck is high compared to others.

It has been 9 hours and  I have 1225 submitted shares but still i cant see my stats..

This wallet is not Exchange wallet it is my offline wallet address also.

Is this pool scam or what ?

I sent mail bur they did NOT answer.

Had the same issue mining with Cast XMR to nanopool with cryptopia address.  Got a response from nanopool pretty quick and they are looking into it.

Very sad day indeed , I was one of those lazy miners , I was introduced to Nicehash back in June , I have not looked back since , thankfully I have cashed out every Friday....this Friday will be the first Friday I have not cashed out !!!!

I guess I have to get real or sell my kit !! thankfully not a bad time to be selling hardware due to the price of BTC going through the roof Smiley

Maybe jump back in when a real lazy style alternative shows up.

Nicehash is dead in the water , anyone hold their breath for it come back online anytime soon , is likely to run out of breath !!! but I shall holds out until Monday and see what happens!

I hope it won't come back online, and if it does, only a lazy retard would do mining there to get scammed once again Grin

When Bitcoin price surges, human nature shows itself, always the same excuse "oh dear, I've been somehow hacked", lies and more lies, but don't worry, Lambos are unworthy in hell.  Grin

Well ... I was getting more than $6/day per RX Vega 56 with NH when BTC was around 15K.  Now it seems I'll be lucky to get $4/day per card mining Monero with XMR-STAK (1800ish h/s per card).  I'm not sure why so many people are saying their profits have increased substantially due to a decrease in difficulty.  If that's the case, what am I missing?

Because everyone and their mother bought out all the VEGA's to mine along with you...  People smell profit and then devour quickly.

I said that people are saying their profits have increased due to the difficulty level decrease that having NH out of the picture has created.  That has nothing to do with what anyone is mining with.  The night before NH went down, I was hitting about 6.50/day per card with them.  When they went down, people started saying they were seeing record profits because NH was down, so difficulty had decreased with all of those NH users not mining.  I tried switching to XMR-STAK.  NH was paying more per card to mine Cryptonight than a mining pool with XMR-STAK mining Monero straight up.  All of that while difficulty is supposedly down?

They weren't mining XMR with cryptonight algo on Nicehash.

Check your risers they be burned.

are you sure that "burned raiser" is not an urban legend?
bad molex contacts is something I encounter very often, but actually burned raiser is something that I haven't seen yet, but then maybe I'm just that good Smiley

Yeah I had a burned molex (peripheral cables)... It actually burned out on the PSU itself and damaged one of my outputs. Have just ordered a new cable from corsair and used a different output... What could have caused this? Can I do anything to prevent it? Could a claim be made vs corsair for warranty on my 1200w PSU?

How many things did you have plugged into your molex line?  Did you use a corsair cable or a different brand?

3 RX480's N+ 4GB on each with the final socket unused. Corsair that came with it

That was your problem, you can only put a maximum of 2 on a single molex cable or you risk burning.

Man I am about to throw this damn vega rig against the wall.  I'm not a rookie, I ahve built 100's of miners and actually have over 200 running right now but this vega, man it's testing my patience.

Biostar TB250+
8GB Ram
SSD
Windows 10 1704? Whatever the newest is
Blockchain drivers
1600 Watt titanum EVGa

All risers and equipment tested on 7 rx 580 cards and operate without flaws.

7 x MSI Vega 56

pull 580 cards out, add
1 vega - works good
2 vega - works good(disable HBCC whatever that setting is sorry paying from memory)
3 Vega - Pixalation and frozen

I can get system to see all 7 cards but cant get past 2 to work.  Any idea what the hell?  Thanks in advance guys!

Make sure crossfire is disabled.

What I found interesting was whattomine was showing nicehash as most profitable 6hrs after it was offline.

you have to change the settings to current profitablity and it will not even show any nicehash  coins

Yeah they finally stopped showing it after some time, but it was still up there for at least 6hrs after it was offline.

Yeah that does suck if its true, but on the bright side difficulty plummeted on a lot of coins and I'm reaping the rewards  Roll Eyes

I wonder which coins will benefit with Nicehash offline ?

NVIDIA based coins and algos?

Zen got a nice boost for me.

796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCI-E splitters don't work!! on: December 02, 2017, 07:27:06 PM
By rail I mean the PCI-E connector on the PSU. The rated power specification for a PCI-E 8-pin connector is up to 150 W and 75 W for a 6-pin connector. No PSU PCI-E connector or cable is designed to pull 300 W from a single connector.

I like when people quote stuff from 2005 and think its correct.

What you may like and what reality is are two different things. The PCI-E System Power Delivery Requirements (page 14) calls for 12.5A from a 2x4 connector (8-pin) and 6.25A from a 2x3 connector (6-pin)

https://us.v-cdn.net/5021640/uploads/editor/yr/f1z842765sj9.pdf

12.5A x 12V = 150 W

16AWG cables can provide up to 400w.  Modern day PSU's provide these and give you dual 6-8pin connections on one cable.  Stop regurgitating old google info.

799  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: PCI-E splitters don't work!! on: December 02, 2017, 04:52:34 PM
Maybe you got the wrong type of splitters and they are shorting the PSU?
800  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: RX Vega 56 - Monero Mining on: December 01, 2017, 05:33:25 PM
You are getting $6-$7 per day at only 130w per card. $525 per card and $6 a day and lets say $0.1 kwh (im taking high electricity cost and only $6 a day) would mean you net 5.7 a day meaning you recover cost in less than 90 days (88 days)...

I would say fair deal.

Well that's a new tactic.  You think you can price a card based on current price of a specific coin to mine?  Who's to say it doesnt drop to nothing tomorrow?  When people buy hardware its based on what its being sold for and retail value.  Considering I paid $375 for my Vega 56's a few weeks ago I still have to say this is not a fair deal at all.  Now maybe if in a month and there aren't any Vega's in sight and people are desperate enough then maybe it will be a deal, but right now? no.
