781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 10, 2023, 02:36:08 PM
And if his team wins the FIBA, then it will motivate him more to go and get that back to back NBA champions. He is healthy and so are the other core member of Denver Nuggets so for sure they will play as harder as last year.

We are going to find out in less than 2 hours, but I'm sure the final game tonight between Germany and Serbia will not be the same as Canada vs. USA, as both teams are displaying great ball movement and defense. I'm excited to see it, and I hope the winner is truly the deserving team. If Team Schröder wins here, I think it will help him a lot with his NBA team; he'll probably get more minutes, and his confidence will boost.

Yeah, most likely it will be a big boost for him if he can carry team Germany. The thing with Dennis is that he has help in engaging his team mates in this FIBA tournament. I guess his experience in the NBA really help in a lot and he has so much confidence going into the finals. So we will see.

On the other hand, Serbia as well is playing good basketball, rotation and specially their defense. So this is going to be very exciting fight for the gold medal in this FIBA. And for sure those NBA players that have participated here will have a new kind of experience.

It's a battle of the best offensive team vs the best defensive team right now. Both teams got a chance because Serbia rallied back in the last 3 minutes of the fourth quarter, just a few seconds to the clock though but it's still early to say who they cannot make it and Germany got the same chances as well. Dennis is playing good and as usual, he's like a magnet which gave his team some advantage to cover some area so that the other players can shoot without any guard.
782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: September 10, 2023, 01:06:49 PM
^^ I saw glimpse of the face-off, as usual Tyson Fury started to run his mouth again, but Francis just keep calm and then point to the belly of Fury, lol. As we all know, Francis body is solid as compare to Fury who has not have a good body but he was able to carry that so no complains.

And I also see Mike Tyson really putting his works to train Francis here. Maybe he saw something in Francis that he can upset Fury. Just to sharpen his boxing skills and footwork and then the timing of letting his hands to go score a knockout. It's going to be devastating to see Francis knocking out Fury in return.

Yep, I saw it too. I'm glad to see that my boy in this particular fight, Francis Ngannou, is very confident and we cannot see any hint that he is somehow thinking of something negative when he faced Tyson Fury for their upcoming fight.

Now, I'd say that this will be a good fight, but what makes it interesting to me more is that Fury seems not taking things seriously. I mean, we can clearly see it.

With regards to Mike Tyson's decision to help Ngannou, I know he got his own reason why and in the first place, I don't think that he will train someone whom he sees no chance at all because he will just be part of an embarrassment. It may be a money fight, but I know that it's different from Francis and for him, it's not just about money.
783  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The Path to Profit: A Trader's Emotion & Terminologies Everyone should Know on: September 09, 2023, 09:50:56 PM
If someone wanted to know all these terms before trading, he would not start his trading journey. Sometimes it requires some bold decisions and preliminary knowledge about trading because in the end, one hour of actual trading may be worth several hours of books and theoretical reading.
Also, the cryptocurrency market is very volatile and difficult to predict, so knowing the basics of technical analysis, tracking news, support levels, resistance, Fibonacci, averages and learning how to manage risks is essential before starting trading.
As traders, what we all need are just basics in trading and as experience goes on, we come to increase our learnings as well through concrete examples. Even professional traders may have not known all of these and yet, they still end up with decent profits every time they trade. But if you can study all the relevant terms needed in trading, then much better. Trading is a battle of human mind and emotions, so if you have an edge on it, you will have bigger chances to succeed in trading.
784  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin obsession! on: September 09, 2023, 08:59:14 PM
Obsession will always be associated with a negative effect on one’s life. But if you are trying to point out about bitcoin obsession, well probably it’s quite safer to say that it’s better to become obsessed with bitcoin investment than to never have bitcoin at all. However, if you are obsessed with gambling using bitcoin, gambling addiction itself will always be unhealthy so I think that will never be a good decision. I would rather be obsessed with bitcoin investment than to take risk in uncontrolled gambling addiction.
785  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Importance of Gambling to the society on: September 08, 2023, 04:57:26 PM
Keep total dependence on reliable source of income and definitely not gambling. Before we enter the system, we should be aware of the most significant advantages and consequences, which are the risks we encounter without carefully examining our roadmaps to follow. Gambling is ubiquitous and has existed since the prehistoric chronological age. The system is probably not for everyone; it has favored some while disappointing others as well. Gambling has had beneficial as well as detrimental impacts on society; it influences the minds of individuals and activities in one way or another.
If you think casino game are rigged, you're wrong.

Although technically there's always a winner and loser in gambling, but it's not mean if you win, then the other is lose and vice versa. The game has a house edge and this make the gambler are unlikely to win due to the percentage to win for gambler is lesser than the casino.

There's a chance if you win, then the other gambler is also win too.

But the casino is always on the winning side because in this kind of business is on the win-win situation always, I don't say that they don't have any losses at all but they might have some losses within a particular hour or day but in the long run, they always win because of that house edge. And yes, there's no such thing as a rigged casino.

There may be some that we don't know of but casinos like that won't survive that long because all casinos are client dependent.
786  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Typical scenario when you are losing on: September 08, 2023, 03:49:44 PM
When you wake up in the morning, even if you don't eat your breakfast meal, you first open your account at the online casino. Is that a habit of yours? Can't gambling be considered an addiction or vice? It's not like that's a normal person's work when you do it like that. No offense, mate, but it's true that when a person's mind is empty when they wake up in the morning, gambling is immediately on their mind.

Then, even though you're sleepy, you still insist on gambling. For me, that's not normal anymore, and it doesn't seem right anymore. It also appears that in that case, the gambler is well controlled in such a scenario.
If you wake up in the morning and the first thing that comes in your mind is gambling, it simply means that you are addicted to gambling and you need to get some help to get out of it. The same is with what happens when you are sleepy, if you sacrifice your sleep for gambling, it is a clear sign that you are a gambling addict, because a gambling addict doesn't always need to be out of money, they might always have money to gamble but they just do it all the time which is not right for them.

A normal gambler might have an urge to gamble as well but they can always control that urge and don't give up on their sleep or breakfast or any other thing they were about to do only to gamble first and then do that thing because a normal gambler tend to have self-control and a lot of patience.
Of course, gambling excessively and even ignoring important needs is an addiction. Because sleeping or resting and eating or breakfast are very important needs for us to stay healthy and fit, and if we ignore these needs then that is a big mistake.
And too much gambling is also pointless, because it will only result in you losing continuously. And gamble calmly, fit and full, because in such conditions you will concentrate when playing and also be calm so you can control yourself and you will also gamble at the right time when everything is fine.

I believe that there's always a good time when to gamble and at that time, it's surely when we can think clearly and have a fresh mind about it. Rather than continuing these habits that will not give us any benefit at all and instead of winning, we are just getting more and more closer to get some losses along the road. Of course we cannot realize that because we only think of gambling only without considering some factors first that could help us.
787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 08, 2023, 02:20:56 PM
< he might start off the bench because there no extra position for him to fill in while for the meantime, he will be a back up for Davis.

For me, having a player with length like Davis makes him a good backup, even though he may not be as strong as Davis in terms of rebounding and defense. However, giving Davis some rest would already be helpful, as every game feels different when Davis is on the court. He has the ability to bring a positive energy that elevates the team's performance. There shouldn't be any issues with the Lakers on the defensive end, given their height advantage. I'm confident that their coach knows how to manage the roster, so let's wait and see.

You know, it's kind of confusing to me now because lately before the Lakers acquired Christian Woods from the free agency, they also acquired and got somebody from the same agency, a guy named Jaxson Hayes.

A much younger player who I thought will be trained to replace Davis from being the center so that Davis will have some freedom in chasing down somebody whilst playing alongside LeBron and convert some points towards the team being a PF. Now, the roster seems to be in a middle of mess because of the new additional that they've acquired recently.
788  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't look for investment, just hodle! on: September 06, 2023, 09:59:47 PM
Learn first before you resort into any type of investment. Educate yourself even in low risk bitcoin accumulation and long term hodling, because in reality everything about bitcoin requires knowledge and good information to make you successful. Hodling might be underrated at some point, but always know that you can never hold and expect decent profits after if you also don’t have patience and positive attitude to make your long term hodling work and end in profits.
789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 06, 2023, 04:51:06 PM
What about you, what do you dislike ?

The behavior of gamblers I dislike:

I dislike gamblers who are irresponsible, taking gambling as a priority, and forgetting the needs of their family.
I dislike gamblers who brag a lot.
I dislike gamblers who cheat and exploit casino glitches.
I dislike gamblers who lies to a friend just to borrow money and fund his gambling activities.
The last one is probably the worst, if a gambler wants to lose their money then that is their decision, but to lie to a friend about what would be the purpose of the loan that was given to them is incredibly low, as in that case not only they are deceiving themselves and losing money they cannot afford, but now they are involving their friends as well, and if they ever find out about their deceitful behavior it is likely their friendship will end immediately.

Only a scum would do that and stoop that low just to continue their activity but if they're already addicted to gambling then it is not really surprising me if ever a friend pulls that kind of stunt and I'd say that specific kind of friend is not worthy to be called as friend because a true friend will never put your friendship in jeopardy just to feed your dream about gambling. I got no problems or whatever if they are gambling because that's their life but if it's about money that involves me, then that's already a different discussion.
790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Give Him a loan Or Partner With Him on: September 06, 2023, 04:20:15 PM
First off I don't condone horse racing (or animal betting of any type) as it's extremely cruel.  Eventually there will be no more horse racing (just as dog racing has all but died in the United States) as people are finally starting to wake up to the cruelties of it.

That being said, I wouldn't loan any friends any money period. Even if he's good at betting horses, that doesn't guarantee he's going to win you or his money back, plus he's more likely to be reckless being that it's a loan.
I share your sentiment, I know that it will take some time because this horse racing or other games that are involving animals in general that are part of betting are somehow a part of the culture or history as these kind of games has been with us since time immemorial. We cannot even trace it back from where it started because of the very long time that has passed but it's sure that these day and age, games like these are getting minimized until we can take it out in our lifetime.

Now for the OP, if I'm in that position, I'd take a stand and reject his idea because there's no good in that. I know that he can always go to somebody else and that's okay as long as he knows that when it comes to money specially for betting, I'm not his man whom he can borrow.
791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 06, 2023, 03:27:52 PM
I still can't see odds on this fight. But I am expecting Casimero to be the favorite. Oguni is not really a solid fighter that would threaten Casimero. He's not in the current rankings in his division. Although this fight will happen in Oguni's home country and that is his advantage, I don't see how Casimero would be affected. Casimero has been entering lions den in the past, going to his opponents' backyard and win. If the ML odds for Casimero isn't that low, it's a safe bet.
As far as boxing odds goes, specially if there are no hype like this one, most likely the odds are going to be put out in the last minutes. Most likely maybe a day or two on our favourite sport bookies.

But if we look at the records, it's obvious that John Riel Casimero will be the odds favorite here. And I doubt see a enticing odds on the ML. Might be better if it will be listed to look for other options like per round, or round range bet.

Other bookies might not be that interested too in listing their bout because this is just a small fight with no anything on the line and only the people who are an avid fan of boxing might know Casimero but for the others who are just interested in big fights, then this is not for them that's why some bookies might not list it as not everyone are inclined to see it.

But for us, we're lucky because our sports bookies might not want to pass in this because everything is a business for them. And I agree with you right there mate, ML won't be that juicy and so it's only possible for us to find good odds in other options.
792  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and get rich quick syndrome on: September 06, 2023, 09:58:33 AM
You nailed it right. There’s no shortcut to success. Everything has its own process. Even with bitcoin wherein most people find it as a get-rich quick tool. In fact, if you care less about bitcoin knowledge and just focus on how to maximize profits, then you’ll end up losing all your wealth than expecting huge profits. Bitcoin is a highly volatile asset that makes it very risky to invest and trade. Though some are seeing it as a reliable source of profits, but it also depends on your abilities and skills and if you’re consistent in using working techniques and strategies. If you are seeing yourself for now not capable to overcome the risks, then it’s better not to invest or trade bitcoin but learn first everything about it.
793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: September 05, 2023, 03:50:00 PM
The poll has 38 votes and the statistics are quite stunning:

Tyson         - 21 (55.3%)
Ngannou    - 17 (44.7%)

I am surprised at the number of members that have rated Ngannou to have a chance to cause an upset when he will be facing Tyson Fury in the ring. He might get some success within the fight here and there but it will be a big task for him to win.

Because why not? Wink This fight is already interesting enough for the people around the world specially if they know both fighter's features, and even us here in this forum are making some wild speculations about what could happen on the day of their fight knowing that both of them are good enough to withstand each other's punches.

Ngannou might be an MMA fighter but he sure ain't the kind of fighter that can be underestimated easily even if he fights in a sport that he knows less about. And if Fury will cut him some slack, I won't be surprised if an upset will happen.

I vote for Ngannou because it just feels great to see a story of someone from rags to riches and him fighting back against the enslaving UFC contract and ending up getting support from other promotions and getting a boxing contract was the greatest win against Dana. Ofc this is just a speculation yet.

But once Ngannou makes it. It will be the greatest story of a Cameroonian who gambles his future from digging dirt to getting out of poverty in the land of opportunity.

I know his chances are not that good specially because this fight is going to be contested in a sports of boxing where he already have the disadvantage but I believe that he can make a difference and knowing Ngannou, he's not cutting some slack whenever he got an upcoming fight as he always makes sure that he prepares for what he think is best so that in the end, he can tell himself that he did his best. But this time, it should be no different even if this is not his sport, he's a live underdog and Tyson should watch his move because Ngannou can be also unpredictable.
794  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: September 05, 2023, 02:56:33 PM
Italy ML @11.0 vs US

Taking my chances here though i like the US to win but their lack of experience might cost this game for them tonight.

I like your call. I believe the USA is overrated, and Italy has been winning games since they visited Pacman. Maybe they got inspired by Pacman, LOL. Anyway, I still love the pick; it's like 'go big or go home.' Good luck; I'm joining you!

Good luck, guys! The game has started, and it seems like it's a close one, so there's a chance, hehe. The USA likes to play small ball; maybe Italy has a good strategy to counter their style. The fact that the USA has lost once already indicates they have a weakness that any team could exploit. Italy has also lost once, but we've seen how good they are when they move the ball well, so it could be a 50-50 game.

End of the first quarter and the US is leading by 10 points, 3's were not there for the Italians due to US' good defense.

If the Italians could not adjust to the defense of the US then i think this is money in the bag for the Americans.

This is far from over. When a team is a three-point shooting team, they can easily come back once they find their rhythm. What they need now is the confidence, as they cannot be overwhelmed by the very popular Team USA. They are here to compete and secure a win to move up to the semi-finals. If USA takes a double-digit lead and Italy can't stop the bleeding, I'm afraid we won't see a good second half. So, the second quarter is very important, and Italy has to mount a comeback.

Too bad because Italy haven't had the chance to rally back in the second half because the USA tightened their defense even more because they learned a lesson when they were defeated yesterday by Lithuania and in-fact, in the game today, the USA never gave an Italy a chance to win at least one quarter during the whole duration of their game.

Italy had a poor shooting night whether if it's beyond the arc (18%) or in the paint (30%) while the USA on the other hand are doubling both of their figures.
795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 05, 2023, 02:20:24 PM
James Harden's stats are still fine; he averaged 21 PPG last season. However, we didn't see a significant impact on the team, which is why we are a bit frustrated with him.

His PPG is significantly drop compared when he is on prime during his rockets days. His FG% is still averaging 44% which is same from before but his scoring potential drops significantly. This is important factor to be considered since this guy is known for no defense at all since his defense is his offense before.

He needs to step up with 76ers now that he already have Embiid that can penetrate inside easily.

It's hard for him to adjust anymore specially when he's already used to be the main alpha who does anything he wanted and so he doesn't want to be a second option when there are already younger stars in the team that's why in the end, he's asking for a trade because he cannot do what he wanted anymore. We know that he can still do the job just fine but the league has changed and that means that he does need to. If he got some problems about the reality then that means that the rings are not for him.
796  Economy / Economics / Re: I wonder if food prices in your country have also increased? on: September 04, 2023, 06:54:48 PM
You know it’s odd to see basic necessities if they have been decreasing their prices, surely their prices are bound to increase especially that inflation may be here for good. And food prices are certainly the most concern of the citizens today most particularly in my country where rice price has been extremely rising so bad. Good thing news came out lately that our head of the country has ordered a minimum price set for well-milled rice. Hopefully this will not be the last price adjustment for our food price.
797  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Bull/Bear Market Which Do you Prefer? on: September 04, 2023, 05:36:48 PM
If you are new to the crypto market, it’s normal that you will chose bull market because there are promising profits  that comes with it. But if you are a long time investor or trader, you will understand that bearish market is more important than bullish market, or see them both as crucial in the market. Because you know exactly that bearish market gives you bigger opportunities to buy and hold your bitcoin and other potential altcoins, and bullish market is the final moment wherein you can reap everything that you have worked hard in the first place.
798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: September 04, 2023, 09:59:04 AM
It's because gamblers who just wanted to have fun are always in the safe side, they just do it for the sake of entertainment while the losses or winnings are just a mere bonuses to them because that is not what they're after in the first place. While the gamblers that are only in for the money, they are surely in a dangerous situation because there will be a point in their activity where they need to make some tough choices that will determine their day.
The gamblers that go to the casinos to spend some money may have a bad day or two but eventually they will learn their lesson and become responsible gamblers, however those that are in it for the money will keep taking on bigger and bigger risks to make profits and then they will keep taking risks in order to recover the money they have lost already, not learning their lesson until they have lost way too much money, assuming they learn their lesson which may not happen at all.

The last part of what you said is scaringly true. There are lots of gamblers out there that do not learn a valuable lesson until there is nothing left to teach them. It reminds me of problematic gamblers just betting and betting on something until such time that they have nothing left to bet unless they borrow money from someone else. At that point, I believe the individual is beyond saving no matter how much intervention is done to them. They either have to lose everything before they stop gambling, or they lose everyone around them.

I'm afraid, we cannot do something about it because they chose that path even if they have a lot more options beforehand, still they made a risky move that is why they had it coming. Sometimes, situations like that is the only thing that can help them in order to open their eyes about the reality, it might be unfortunate to think, but that's the last resort that can save them and a chance to redeem themselves by doing the right things instead of the things that will just worsen their situation.
799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: September 04, 2023, 09:26:14 AM
That is the part of the reason why they choose these three countries to host the next world cup, I mean that their move is understandable because they wanted a much bigger arena with guaranteed audience when they present their new format this coming 2026 with more games and teams added. As we all know, having the games in North America means that almost every fellow in this world can watch it and that's their goal.

Other than that, the most obvious reason why FIFA chose America-Canada-Mexico to host the 2026 World Cup is that these three countries bid and won the bid together. It's a business after all and in every business, there's always a motive behind the reason. Just like how the Qatar was rumored to won the bid because they have bought some of the people in the FIFA council to guarantee a spot to host a world cup event.
I think this is a win-win for both parties, of course the appointment of certain countries must go through a nomination process and meet the requirements applied by FIFA. I think the speculation that then emerged was natural, because after all, holding the World Cup as one of the biggest events in football certainly requires a win-win solution to be the host.

However, what needs to be in the bottom line is the guarantee of success in holding it, perhaps this guarantee is what FIFA pays the most attention to before selecting the host country.

That should be one of the factors that the FIFA are looking and I know that they have some sort of checklist before choosing a host for the upcoming World Cup, and it's not just all about money even if we say that this is a business because they are also making sure that it will be an extravagant event that people cannot forget as it's an event that only happens once every four years. You know, they are making sure that there's almost no rooms for errors so that people will only remember the enjoyment and not the negative effects of it.
800  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is Bitcoin really risky as they say? on: September 03, 2023, 09:44:13 PM
I would definitely not to argue with that, bitcoin is really risky. But if you certainly know how to take risk management and know when to take an edge over bitcoin, then you can easily lessen its risk and maximize its potentials within. Bitcoin is risky and yet its the most profitable and reliable cryptocurrency in the market. If you are fearful with its risks, you will never  be brave enough to have and own bitcoin for yourself.
