Before his win in Germany, Lewis has signed a new 2 year contract with Mercedes. What does this suggest for Daniel Ricciardo who was indirectly saying that he wanted to go drive for Mercedes? Valterri has also said that news of his extension with Mercedes will be announced.

I speculate if Kimi leaves Ferrari then Daniel will be Sebastian Vettel's new partner on 2019.
7902  Economy / Speculation / Re: Mike Novograts to CNBC: ‘I Think Bitcoin’s Price has Bottomed’ on: July 28, 2018, 12:29:57 AM
Remember ladies and gentlemen, these types of stories only come out AFTER the big boys have invested.

I suspect Mike Novogratz is talking his book. He said in December that he wasn't interested in bitcoin - that was a sign he was shorting. Now he's announced that it's bottomed out - that's a sign he bought in around $6300.

Ditto stuff coming out from the likes of Soros. When they're slamming it, it means they're short. When they suddenly turn around and praise bitcoin, that means they've gone long and are trying to encourage the general public to get in, to force the price up.

Would that imply that he was only announcing his analysis that bitcoin has indeed bottomed out or his announcement was nothing but a trick to have everyone follow him, causing bitcoin to indeed bottom out?

It might have already worked hehehe!
7903  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-23] G20 Eyes October Deadline for Crypto Anti-Money Laundering Standard on: July 28, 2018, 12:10:14 AM
I reckon it will take 3 or 4 more years before we can see an implementation worthy of another softfork for Schnorr, then another round of miners taking their time to signal that they're ready to fork because of politics. Maybe 5 or 6 years before we can enjoy optional privacy.

There's no reason to believe that. A draft for a Schnorr BIP was published a few weeks ago.

Hehehe it is better to overshoot estimates than to undershoot them to avoid disappointment. Also, there might be unforseen instances of politics being in the way for its activation. Jihan might want to keep delaying bitcoin's development to give his bitcoin cash an advantage.
7904  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-25] India’s Supreme Court Postpones Verdict on Cryptocurrency Ban Again on: July 28, 2018, 12:00:38 AM
@Theb. Fortuntely, India's supreme court is taking its time before making their decision. I hope their supreme court's research will cause them to know that bitcoin is not regulable as a currency or as a commodity in their present constitution. It will set a bad precedent.

7905  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin might still crash with or without the ETF approval on: July 27, 2018, 01:47:10 AM
Does anyone have an opinion, or are we in a real stage of confusion? August 10 is 2 weeks away, and with everyone knowing that it might crash when whales sell the news, will it cause for the crash to occur days sooner because of the anticipation of the crash?

If anything is to go by the report, I read yesterday, I think the August 10 has been shifted forward till when we don't know. I am actually of the same opinion that whether ETF or not, price will fall, so also will price rise what would happen otherwise is ETF approval aiding the rise while disapproval aiding the fall. But its always encouraging that people should move beyond reacting to impending news before making their investment decisions because doing that would only confirm the argument that bitcoin is just an emerging currency that can swerve in any direction and most importantly not to be taken seriously. I have not seen any major currency reacting to speculations that cannot be founded.

That might be good for the price because the anticipation that somethng might happen will pump the price more than something that was already confirmed in the news hehehe.

I reckon only 1 of the 2 applications was postponed, the other one will be on the same date.
7906  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-25] India’s Supreme Court Postpones Verdict on Cryptocurrency Ban Again on: July 27, 2018, 01:40:35 AM
@Betwrong, @Harlot. Before replying try to understand what I was trying to say. Bitcoin is really not a currency but software for a message passing system. How can you regulate one as a currency and Whatsapp or Discord as another? If India starts regulating bitcoin as a currency, it might set up a precedent that other message passing systems might be currencies too, which would be bad.

I reckon maybe ICOs cannot be regulated as securites also for the same reason.

I think when replying to a topic in the Press section we actually have two options: 1. discussing the opinion of the poster; 2. discussing the article itself. No offence, mate, but we just have chosen the latter. Smiley

Regarding your view of Bitcoin as a software for a message passing system I can only say that IMO the Supreme Court of India will be reviewing entirely another facet of this complex mechanism called Bitcoin. And since I think that the Supreme Court's decision will be made mostly in favor of BTC and other cryptos, there's no need to worry about them start regulating Whatsapp or Discord. ... Well they can start regulating anything they want, but we are talking about banning here, right? Which in a country like India will never happen neither to Bitcoin nor to Whatsapp or Discord.

I reckon you do not understand. The supreme court of India should be careful what kind of decisions it is making on bitcoin by basing them on a constitution that is not made to regulate something like bitcoin.

It would set a terrible precedent for the other message passing systems that are used in their country because bitcoin itself is but a message passing system of signed messages. I do not know India's constitution, but in America, bitcoin is also free speech that is protected by the 1st amendment.

@hatshepsut93. I reckon that not all of the exchanges and countries will follow Japan's strict policy versus anonymous cryptocoins. If there is demand to buy them, there will always he exchanges willing to list them.

I also reckon that Japan will not prohibit them forever.

The absence of comments and advice might be showing that we are in a stage of confusion.

or it shows that the subject of reaching the bottom was already discussed elsewhere in multiple different topics and also shows that people don't care what some old hedge fund manager dude who advertises his BlockFi fundraising says about bitcoin price Tongue

Agreed. There were already many discussions where the bottom is going to be since January. Many thought it was on $15,000 or $10,000. I reckon they have already given up and have stopped resisting the bear market because some of them are now so sure that the bottom will be below $5000 hehehe.
7911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why I am betting on the Mega Millions Lottery – Jackpot over 500$ Million ! on: July 25, 2018, 02:43:26 AM
@krach. Yes, we understand. The absolute intention is to purchase as much free lottery tickets for as long as 5Dimes' odds will pay for them hehehe.

Also, how long do opportunities like these last? I reckon the sportsbooks might take notice on it and lower the odds.
7912  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin might still crash with or without the ETF approval on: July 25, 2018, 02:19:31 AM
We might be for another rollercoaster ride again. Does everyone remember the bitcoin futures pump of December? It was approved but the price also crashed after the hype. I reckon it does not matter what the decision will be on the ETF's application because there will be many whales selling on the news as a trading strategy.

Bitcoin on Tuesday surged above the $8,000 mark for the first time since May, giving renewed hope to cryptocurrency bulls looking for strength from the market's bellwether coin.

Bitcoin's latest surge comes shortly after a positive stretch of trading which was inspired by encouraging regulatory development around the world, as well as news that established financial industry behemoths were looking to develop crypto businesses.

This week, bitcoin bulls are getting excited about the expected approval of a bitcoin ETF sponsored by VanEck and blockchain platform SolidX. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is currently reviewing the application of this fund, and a source cited by ICO Journal said its chances of approval were "90% at this point."

I reckon the speculators in the forum are not convinced that bitcoin's price has bottomed. Also, maybe we are not that persuaded yet that the pump is sustainable at the same time hehehe.

The absence of comments and advice might be showing that we are in a stage of confusion.
7914  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-07-25] India’s Supreme Court Postpones Verdict on Cryptocurrency Ban Again on: July 25, 2018, 01:48:04 AM
India or any other country might not have the correct laws in their present system to regulate the cryptospace. If they wanted to make it regulable, then they might have to change their constitution. Remember that bitcoin is not a currency at its core, but a software message passing system. If the supreme court of India makes a bad precedent, then that might affect how they regulate other software message passing systems like Whatsapp hehehe.

Solving the uncertainty surrounding India’s cryptocurrency situation has been challenging. The domestic Supreme Court aims to hold a final hearing regarding the RBI’s ban on crypto. While enforced by the Supreme Court at first, the situation can still change. For cryptocurrency companies and enthusiasts, the final hearing will not happen until mid-September.

This is another setback for the cryptocurrency industry in the country. The final verdict was to be rendered on July 20th. However, the Supreme Court decided to push back its verdict by another seven weeks. Why that decision was made remains unclear to all participants. Deciding the fate of Bitcoin and altcoins is a very big decision. Weighing the pros and cons needs to be done in a careful and unbiased manner.

Domestic cryptocurrency operators aren’t pleased with this added delay. Every day without a solution cripples the Indian crypto industry even further. Given the success these exchanges have seen over the years, the decision by the RBI makes virtually no sense. Cryptocurrency brings a lot of investment and jobs to India. As such, the ecosystem should be cherished and nurtured, rather than outlawed.

I also reckon that the subject of fungibility will have more importance and will not be taken for granted as it is today in the cryptospace.

And the upcoming Schnorr signatures and Confidential Transactions technologies will close the fungibility chapter, more or less.

I reckon it will take 3 or 4 more years before we can see an implementation worthy of another softfork for Schnorr, then another round of miners taking their time to signal that they're ready to fork because of politics. Maybe 5 or 6 years before we can enjoy optional privacy.

I like this! Is there a trusted bitcoiner in here from America? Let's form a lottery freeroll group hehehe. Also, is there a way to personally participate in the lottery from the outside? I reckon winning the $500 million is a very easy exit scam hehehe.

Degen Hedge – Bet both on no jackpot winner and on the lottery itself. For example, if you bet 100$ at 1.339 then take the 33$ you will win if there is not a jackpot winner and buy lottery tickets. If there is no jackpot winner then you have a lottery freeroll.

7917  Economy / Gambling / Re: #1 RATINGS of BITCOIN SPORTSBOOKS : poster book discussion on: July 24, 2018, 01:53:08 AM
How and why is 1xbit still a D? I reckon there were many unpaid players that complained last year while the sportsbook was continually accepting deposits at the same time.

Were those complaints verified as true or were they exaggerated by people who cannot wait for their coins to be sent to their wallet?
7918  Economy / Speculation / Mike Novograts to CNBC: ‘I Think Bitcoin’s Price has Bottomed’ on: July 24, 2018, 01:41:50 AM
I reckon many of you have started accepting the possibility that bitcoin has reached the bottom, versus 2 weeks ago, when all of you were always ready to throw rotten tomatoes at me. But I understand. The mood 2 weeks ago was very in denial and pessimistic. Also, any bullish article shared was taken as trolling hehehe.

CEO of Galaxy Investment Partners Mike Novogratz expressed his optimism for the future of Bitcoin to CNBC’s Crypto Trader in an interview at the Beyond Blocks Conference in Seoul, South Korea.

In a previous interview during December of last year, Novogratz stated that he was not interested in investing in Bitcoin due to the looming uncertainty to follow Bitcoin’s 2017 boom. However, Novogratz has since become bullish on the prospects of Bitcoin, stating that he thinks the price of Bitcoin has finally hit bottom.

“I think we’ve pretty much bottomed,” says Novogratz.

Novogratz also suspects a “tipping point” is coming and all it takes is for one large financial institution to come into the cryptospace for the rest to follow. Novograts believes this tipping point will come within the next 6-18 months.

7919  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin fair value is above $10,000 on: July 24, 2018, 01:15:32 AM
I don't know about you guys but I struggle to come up with an objective range for what's "fair value". I mean, say it however you want, but the market price right now is always going to be the real price. How do you measure fair value? According to the side of the coin you're on, it's anything from $0 to $1million. But what people are willing to pay for it in the here and now? That's the value we've got to deal with in dollars.

I'm so weak, fell for it and I've clicked the the link.

Anyways, the article focuses more on charts and the rumor about CoinBase's hidden actions. (no spoilers)
I've seen a lot of related rumors around here in the speculations board and there aren't much of a difference except of the enthralling format.

Probably this was just posted here to gain more traffic, but who am I to judge, there's nothing wrong with it.

You and me both. And I learnt nothing new, except my brain's right side is flickering a little.

I disagree. Yes, the article itself might be rubbish but you can still learn by reading the comments of the people and determine their mood towards the market.

In any case, I learned that if I showed that article 2 weeks ago we would see the same group of people comment more negatively and would not be as open to the thought that there is hope hehehe.
7920  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-07-23] G20 Eyes October Deadline for Crypto Anti-Money Laundering Standard on: July 24, 2018, 12:57:55 AM
Then I reckon investing, or as Warren Buffet would make us say, speculating in anonymous and privacy cryptocoins will be the next natural step.  I also reckon that the subject of fungibility will have more importance and will not be taken for granted as it is today in the cryptospace.
