right now im mining with Slush

390-400 Th/s

What are the rewards with KanoPool ?

Slush has a 2% fee, kano has a .9% fee, so over time you make 1.1% more.

Rewards are per block and based on your hashrate relative to the pools rate and the block reward + transaction fees.

Guys has anyone used  https://www.eastshore.xyz to buy a miner?Is it safe?

I have bought from them, but there's always a mark up. Why bother when you can buy miners direct from Bitmain or companies like Blokforge?

Thank you. I mined that block with a 741. Total I have running now is 3 741s and 1 ebit e9.

Thanks for the block!

Batch 2 order #18XX placed 2nd week of December...processing...

I contacted support and they said they'll have more info on shipping times next week...

Added more S9s to the pool. At least Bitmain ships hardware mostly on time (yes, that's a knock on Halong - still waiting for my April miner to ship.)

Must add more hash to the pool!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this also mean that each one of our miners is expected to generate only 1/7.7 = 12% the amount of BTC it was expected to generate a year ago? With the diff increasing this fast it can't be much longer before the current generation of miners are no longer profitable without a serious jump in BTC value.

You are correct - difficulty rising means that, in order to stay competitive, you must constantly upgrade your farm and added more hash power.

However, no one can predict what the price will do. Even though they were very old, when the price was at $20k, some last gen miners were profitable to run even.

Hi guys!
Could someone tell me why it shows 0 hashrate on solo.ckpool while on the asic’s S9 dashboard everything is ok and the hashrate is 13.5???

{
 "hashrate1m": "0",
 "hashrate5m": "0",
...
  {
   "workername": "16U5HDYhpW5ZxEX6MLofPCSh2tAumM932r",
   "hashrate1m": "0",
   "hashrate5m": "0",
...
}
And one more question: I’ve got only one worker, And it shows  "workers": 2, why?

Thanks beforehand!

Based on that, your S9 is no longer connected to the pool. It might've switched to a different pool, maybe due to a failover, internet blip, or something else.

If you look at your S9's status page, what pool does it show that its connected to?

Hey, not that its relevant, but could you add a fun fact statistic on the site? Like what the current best share is the pool has found? I know it has not relevance to solving blocks, but I think it would be kind of cool to see what the best share the pool currently has.

I know there's a ton of pages, but this has been asked and answered before. Kano says no.

Ahh. Got it. Thank you!  Wink

So basically a large rental will stay 'about' the same SPS rate but will be transferring a much larger data packet/share with more difficult numbers (possible solves) in it.

Yes -  ckpool's share diff adjusts to support a standard rate of accepted shares. The minimum it'll allow is 1 million using the rental port, but it can of course go higher. (If a share diff is above the network difficulty, you get a block.)

Still really surprises me that difficulty still rising at 5-8% every 2 weeks, considering price has done nothing but drop over the past few months. Granted we’re in a reasonable upswing, and let’s hope price keeps going up.

But at the same time, I don’t want the hashrate to explode this year either Sad

It was guaranteed to explode. With the new generation miners coming out, the difficulty will do nothing but rise. Imagine how much it'll rise when/if Bitmain releases their new SHA miner too!

Also how can blockwithholding from rentals like nicehash be proven or tracked?

You can't prove or track it unless you can see the logs of (1) each share submitted by the miners, and then to (2) NH, and then to the solo pool.

Since 1 & 2 are opaque, you can't see what they say the share diff is.

What's a good failover?

I currently have it in order:
:3333
:80
:81

but the :81 is showing dead.

I use stratum :3333
nya : 3333

then a third pool (a solo pool)

Love those double tap blocks.

Got 3 more S9s coming online soon. Time to replace some of those power hungry M3s I got back in November.

kano,

What a great service. Thank you.

Would it be possible to have the payouts set to every other block or even less frequent for an individual account? I'm thinking I would like to contribute in keeping the network free of unpaid transactions when I don't require frequent payments. It would also result in higher payments by allowing paid transactions... what am I missing?

Kano is working on new accounting code that’s will let you set weekly or monthly payments.

What does last share mean im a noob still

It is the timestamp (in epoch format) of the last share you made to the pool

What's the behavior if you point it to a pool that doesn't support version rolling? Does it show an error and goto the backup pool?
97  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [145+PH] KanoPool kano.is 7 BTC giveaway 🐈 US,NL,JP,NYA,DE,SG on: April 12, 2018, 10:18:03 PM

Thank you ccgllc. I think my main question might be how ramp down/up with five hours of off time might affect it. I don't think it would be noticeable but I wonder how I might be able to calculate that.

If you turned your miners off for 5 hours every day, they'd be mining 19 hours. That's roughly 20% less hash rate. You can take your hash rate and subtract 20% from that and run your calculations. The ramp up and ramp down won't really matter.
98  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [145+PH] KanoPool kano.is 7 BTC giveaway 🐈 US,NL,JP,NYA,DE,SG on: April 12, 2018, 04:50:42 PM

someone explain this consolidation business to me

The fee you pay for a transaction is based on the number of inputs you spend. For example, let's say you're sending .1 BTC. That .1 BTC, however, is really the sum of a bunch of mining outputs. If you get .01 per block, that .1 BTC is 10 transactions of .01.

So your send of .1 is really spending those 10 unspent transactions. This can increase the transaction fee, because the weight of the transaction is bigger.

Consolidating means you spend all your multiple outputs by sending them to a single input when fees are low. That way instead of 10 inputs to your transaction, you just have 1.

Imagine you're at the store and want to pay for your groceries. The total is $20. You have a jar of quarters, or you have a $20 bill. Which is easier to use? Consolidation is taking your quarters (the rewards from all your mining) and merging them into a $20 bill.
99  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [145+PH] KanoPool kano.is 7 BTC giveaway 🐈 US,NL,JP,NYA,DE,SG on: April 12, 2018, 03:30:02 PM

I may be mistaken, but I think the only people that made the offer actually mine at Kano Pool. If someone that's already mining here has a DM in hand and hasn't stepped up, it's their own fault they can't use it on this pool.

Still haven't got a ship notice on my Dragon. I only ordered after it was confirmed to be real, so who knows when they'll ship it. I will happily point it to a kano test pool, even if that means tricking DNS into thinking that kano.is is ckpool or slush. However, have to receive it first. I can also give Kano a VPN account so he can connect to it and tweak it if needed.

For the people who's orders from batch 1 shipped - did you get an email of shipment from Halong?

I'm in Batch 2 (or maybe 3, it's hard to see on their site) and wondering if I have to check the site now and then or if they'll proactively notify me when the order status changes?
