81  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-11-3] Bitcoin Technical Analysis for 11/3/2015 – To the moon on: November 04, 2015, 09:55:26 AM
It is difficult to tell what is the cause of recent rise. There are several reasons.

1. MMM global bitcoin Ponzi scheme.
2. US Marshall's final auction of bitcoin
3. More bitcoin adoption
4. Positive media hype
5. Adoption of blockchain in banking sector.
82  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-11-03]BitBeat: Bitcoin Surges Past $400 on Back of the New ‘Shining Star’ on: November 04, 2015, 09:52:16 AM
There are a lot of media exposures of bitcoin recently. Especially after the price surge.

It seems most of those exposures are positive, quite different from previous ones.
83  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-11-04] USAA users and staff now can check their bitcoin balance via the co on: November 04, 2015, 09:47:46 AM
That is a kind of promotion of bitcoin as somebody does not know bitcoin will know bitcoin and gain interest out of the new service.

After the successful pilot study, hope they will extend it to all users.
84  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Needing $10,000 for investment project - online website biz as collateral on: November 04, 2015, 07:28:45 AM
The value of the collateral should be at least 30% higher than the loan.

Can you tell us more about your website so that we can assess its value? We have to be sure it can make $2000 a month for you and its value is over $10k.
85  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Gemini Hits daily volume of 1000btc on: November 04, 2015, 07:01:33 AM
its a great site, nice exchange, the only thing I'm not to fond of is the UI. Its like mtgox and kraken had a love child.

These kind of features will change after they receive some customer feedback.

The most important part of this exchange is that it is regulated. You are protected to some degree. It is not Mt Gox.
86  Economy / Securities / Re: Is there any wealthy investors here willing to make real dollars? on: November 04, 2015, 06:57:18 AM
The economy growth in Australia has slowed down a lot due to the low commodity prices. It has also affected the real estate market there.
I quite agreed with you as regards the present state of Australia economy but are you saying the the OP is justified for asking for 1000 btc?

What I mean is that the property development in Australia is a risky business, not like several years ago, when huge profit can be made relatively easily.
That said if he is a valid licensed developer it would make more sense for him to put a listing on a site like bnktothefuture and post the valid listing and offer here for Bitcoin users to inspect after.
All i can understood from the two of you is that the business is not as lucrative as the OP puts it and there is possibility of incurring a loss.

Yes. If you want to invest, then go to his office to discuss the details as he said in the OP.

You have to do a lot of due diligence to make sure the investment is sound. 1000 btc is a lot of money these days.
87  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: November 04, 2015, 06:51:37 AM
yeah well, his post is kinda outdated guys. Lets be honest, we are waiting for the 500+. next week/month probably, if people keep buying and trading we'll see this in no-time.

even at the time he posted it it was obvious price would never drop to $100

Price drop to $100 could happen in a flash crash when the market depth is not enough. But the price will recover to normal level quickly.

Bitcoin itself is being developed all the time, so the value will increase.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much you have lost in gambling? on: November 04, 2015, 06:48:43 AM
I've earned $12 in btc for the first time and lost it all thru dice lol. I thought I could win.

hell, that's all? no worries, move along son. Wink

$12 could be a large amount of money in some countries. If it is a large amount in your situation, then do not bet it all in a dice game. Keep some for your living.
89  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Volume on Chinese exchanges on: November 04, 2015, 06:45:06 AM
Its' because there are no trading fees on those specific exchanges.

Which means you can buy and sell to yourself at no cost.

This happens on "our" markets as well (the buying and selling to oneself) but fees make this prohibitive. On those specific exchange you are referring to, there are no disencentive to manipulate prices that way, hence the probability that a big % of this volume is "washed" as we say.

This is why such volumes are not taken into account.
i never knew this
i wonder if no fee exchange will become popular for btc/usd in the future

If the Chinese exchanges charge 0.01% fee, the trading cost will make the volume drop 90%.

0% trading fee makes a huge difference there. The market can be manipulated at little cost.
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: November 03, 2015, 08:13:21 PM
Not wrong but if you're getting too much into it. try to stop

That is right. Gambling is just a way to pass time, by using money. That is no different from other activities such as cycling, climbing and travelling. All those activities cost money and time.

92  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is BTCC (BTC China) having liquidity problem? on: November 03, 2015, 03:34:24 PM
$25k is quite a large amount of money. It might be normal to be checked  there.

Did you have problem withdrawing $25k before?

The coin dump has nothing to do with the liquid problem. The price is rising, meaning more people are spending fiat. So there should be plenty of fiat available.
93  Economy / Auctions / Re: [AUCTION] Hero Member Account on: November 03, 2015, 03:25:54 PM
You need to lock this thread and let it drop as quickly as possible.

After a few weeks or months, nobody will remember this auction. You can sell again. Good luck.
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there a difference between buying shares in the stock exchange and gambling? on: November 03, 2015, 02:09:18 PM
Both of them rely on skill and luck, we also can analyze condition & think about strategy about how to make profit.
So, i think there aren't any major difference between stocks trading & gambling. The only difference is stock tradings is 100% legal, while gambling isn't legal.

Some gambling such as poker relies more on skill as you bet against other players. Dice is mainly lucky based.

But poker need luck to for your own card and on the table. Sometimes you hold Ace pair you will lose to three's or something higher than that. Every gambling game sure need some luck to play, there are no game that depends more on skill

It is all relative speaking. I mean luckiness play a less role in poker game than in dice game.

You need good luck in poker to get better cards. Some times, even if you have bad cards, you can still win with some techniques.
95  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Volume on Chinese exchanges on: November 03, 2015, 02:03:33 PM
The volume of bitcoin exchanges are many times more than exchanges in other countries. The main reason is that there is no fee there. You can trade the same bitcoin many times, without paying a fee.

So to compare the volume with other exchanges, you have to discount the volume in China by 95% or higher.
96  Economy / Reputation / Re: negaive trust ratings and loans on: November 03, 2015, 01:56:56 PM
I have some sympathy for the OP. He might think the best way to increase your reputation is to borrow money and return as agreed. That is what we do in the society. We shop with credit card, and pay back at the end of the agreed period. Our credit score will improve.
97  Economy / Reputation / Re: Best way to get reputation as a lender? on: November 03, 2015, 01:45:07 PM
Lending other people to help their needs is a good deed. But you are rewarded with loan interest.

As long as you take appropriate collateral and check carefully, there is no risk. But I will still give positive feedback to the person who lend me money.
98  Economy / Lending / Re: Need 0.0005 small loan. on: November 03, 2015, 01:20:28 PM
What the point of getting such a small amount of loan?

Is it a way to earn some positive feed back? I know in real world, you borrow with credit card, and improve your credit score. Then you can borrow a larger amount of money later.
99  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: My paypal for bitcoins on: November 03, 2015, 01:11:05 PM
Not many people will send you bitcoin and you pay them with paypal.

Bitcoin is not reversible, while paypal is reversible. There are many scams involve paypal/bitcoin transaction. People have learned a lot from the process.
100  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Lenders, please don't lend without a proper collateral! on: November 03, 2015, 11:47:38 AM
What are the acceptable collateral in the lending business? I heard it is mainly the user account. But it is difficult to evaluate the worthiness of  a user account. It is also difficult to check posts to see if there is a loan attached to the account.
