301  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN going up or down on: August 04, 2015, 03:56:24 AM
The price is stable for some time.
302  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CREDITS [CRE] | SHA256 | SIDECHAIN | NEW BLOCK-DEPOSIT FEATURE | OFFICIAL THREAD on: August 01, 2015, 06:55:09 AM
Release version created on Github.

A release version has been created on Github. Release binaries will be added to http://credits-currency.org as soon as a full sync on a node on mainnet has been done. The sync on that node is currently on block 285000 on the bitcoin blockchain.

To upgrade to this version a full sync has to be done, or initialising from a prepackaged working dir. A reindex can NOT be done anymore. A prepackaged up to date working dir will be published at the same time as the binaries are published.

https://github.com/credits-currency/credits/tree/release-version-0.9.1.70

Please read the release notes carefully before upgrading and make sure to backup credits_wallet.dat and bitcoin_wallet.dat.

Expect the binaries for version 0.70 to be published in a day or two.

Does it mean I cannot use the existing working directory and have to sync from the beginning? That will take a long time.

Just a reminder that we are #1 on c-cex.com voting list. Go and vote here: https://c-cex.com/?id=vote

I apologize for not being more active in the CRE community, I don't currently have internet access.
You bagholder haha.

CRE is a low profile, actively developed coin.
304  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 within a month. on: July 19, 2015, 01:38:28 AM
If there is a quick jump to 1200, I don't think it will be sustainable. That's just too much too fast. Best case scenario is getting to 300 and holding

Somewhere between 280-300 for a few month is ideal.
305  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: can i store my miners in my attic on: July 17, 2015, 06:57:50 AM
Can only do it in winter. The heat ventilation is a problem. It is too hot in summer.
306  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin fixes a Greek problem – but not the Greek debt problem on: July 17, 2015, 06:55:55 AM
If a state has to borrow bitcoin not printalbe fiat to fund it welfare system, it will think twice before borrowing. It will help its debt.
307  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [XMR] The Monero BEAR thread. on: July 17, 2015, 06:40:45 AM
Hi Doomero!

I won't call you a troll (we're all trolls here  Cheesy) or a puppet.

But if you aren't short XMR, I will call you a chicken.

The Monero haters hate Monero because they fear it, and are jealous of its present success and vast potential.

But they wouldn't dare put their money where their mouths are.

Even though interest rates on XMR loans are near zero, they are still too chicken to risk getting their teeth broken in the inevitable resumption of XMR's moonward trajectory.

Last week, I spent 0.1 BTC (~60 XMR actually) to break Dash's rally.  It was well worth it, both for the satisfaction of stomping on their scammy sandcastle and putting my convictions into action.  The potential profit was just gravy (although next time I'll take some green before adding more red).

What are you doing, besides talking, to demonstrate your belive XMR is in a bear market?

How effective is that 0.1 BTC action? Did it last more than 30mins?
308  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN going up or down on: July 14, 2015, 11:39:01 AM
I guess current price is in line with recent risese from low 200 range. After stabalizing for a while at 250-260, this could be the new stable for the next week or 2.

300 will come again, just be patient Wink

Stable bitcoin price will make it main stream.
309  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN going up or down on: July 13, 2015, 01:50:51 PM
BTC is at the tipping point
I think its going to eventually drop.
You called it early mate.
Dropped by $30 in last hour.
I am thinking because Greece just settled a deal in the last 1.5 hours.

If the price is stable around $280, it is good for the health of bitcoin. I do not want to rise too fast and become a pump & dump coin.
310  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2 years ago Cyprus, now Greece? new bubble on the way? on: July 12, 2015, 09:01:17 AM
The 1200 bubble was for the most part produced by WillytheBot (MtGox) and his followers. Cyprus crisis had about the same impact on Bitcoin price as Greece has right now. Problem is mainly, when the banks are closed, people are not able to buy Bitcoins.

Cyprus was loaded with deposits from wealthy Russian investors. When these billionaires wanted to move some of their money, Bitcoin was a natural fit. In the case of Greece, that is not happening. Even if the banks were open, Greeks would withdraw Euros and keep it with them.

Yes. Bitcoin is also much bigger now than 2 years ago. It is affected by Greece to lesser degree.
311  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Boolberry: Privacy and Security - Guaranteed[Bittrex/Poloniex]GPU Released on: July 12, 2015, 08:57:13 AM
I found this old thread:

http://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/2914y1/monero_vs_boolberry/

Someone should write up a new comparison so we can gain some publicity.

Many people are unaware of all the innovation that Boolberry has already delivered

I might be willing to help contribute to a bounty for some new marketing materials that we can use

The boolberry website is also in need of updating

The main difference is that XMR is still developed actively, BBR not.
312  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: July 12, 2015, 08:53:05 AM
If it goes to $100-$200, I'll throw in my entire life savings.  but I find it almost impossible

When it goes to $100, maybe BTC is in crisis, it might even go to 0.
313  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: DashMiner.com - DASH & BTC multipool for AMD GPUs. Custom software. Extra profit on: July 11, 2015, 10:07:49 AM
Is your miner faster and more efficient than wolf bin?
314  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the Chinese turn into Bitcoin after the this stock market crisis? on: July 11, 2015, 09:54:41 AM
There is a definite shift towards LiteCoin, but the most important shift was the establishment of the New World Bank {Brics countries}

The Chinese are constantly distancing themselves from the west... They use alternative markets ... Alternative coins... Why do you think they are doing that?

The latest attacks on Bitcoin is also rumored to have come from the Chinese miners..

Conspiracy theories ---> World Dominance  Roll Eyes

That is just a conspiracy theory.
315  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2 years ago Cyprus, now Greece? new bubble on the way? on: July 11, 2015, 09:52:32 AM
Somewhere I heard that, cyprus was a wealth heaven, during the crisis the wealth was exported using bitcoin. I don't know if would be the same scenario with greece.

That is true. A lot of Russians had deposits in Cyprus and when capital controls / deposit cuts were imminent, converting fiat into Bitcoin was a workaround. In Greece, deposits belong to common citizens and the government won't be comfortable imposing haircuts.

How do they convert the fiat into bitcoin, in exchanes? There was capital control then. I do not think they can take money out of Cyprus.
316  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin goes to 1200-1300 within a month. on: July 10, 2015, 07:53:51 PM
Yes. Fiat is more Ponzi than bitcoin.
317  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: July 10, 2015, 07:48:31 PM
Guys, now do you really think you will get BTC that cheap?
$100, really? Are you kidding me?

You are kidded.
318  Economy / Speculation / Re: NEXT 48H ARE CRITICAL!!!!!!!! on: July 10, 2015, 07:47:33 PM
Bitcoin is bought and mined primarily in China, they don't care about $300, they care about 2000 Yuan.
I think we will reach 200Yuan in the next week Smiley

The next 48h could be critical, if Greece screws up, if not, Bitcoin is still on the up, just not as fast.

There will be a solution for Greece soon. The rise of bitcoin is not related to Greece. People gradually realize of the value of BTC.
319  Economy / Speculation / Re: NEXT 48H ARE CRITICAL!!!!!!!! on: July 10, 2015, 07:30:54 PM
Small steady rise is preferred. Something like 1% a week.
320  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] HaoBTC launches fixed term deposit account on: July 10, 2015, 07:23:02 PM

Statement:
Going forward, anyone who has a legitimate claim that loss has been caused by withdrawal delay due to our fault can send the proof either to my email address eric.mu@haobtc.com or WeChat and get a compensation no less than the loss. The money will be paid using my personal fund, as the company doesn't have such policy for the time being. I just want to show people that we do care about fairness.
Now that's putting your best foot forward, hopefully HaoBTC will follow your lead and develop a company policy so you don't have to cover these losses on your own.

I think so. It is Haobtc's responsibility
