I don't understand why the hacker did not already switch to a privacy coin.

Yes I discovered it with whale alerts. That surprised me too.

Meanwhile,
6 hours ago over 30k ETH have been moved from "cryptopia hack 2" address:

84  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for the annoying "1 sat" bot. on: March 26, 2019, 01:59:47 PM
In a big market with much liquidity I don't find a bot to be particularly negative. What really pisses me is when I try to buy cheap a small volume coin, put an order a bit greater than the others, in a place of the book I considera convenient and possible, and suddenly out of nowhere comes another big order ahead of mine by 1 sat. Like if some1 sayd "hey look, some1 is going to buy many coins at that price, it must be a bargain, I want to buy too."

and what pisses me even more, is that is a good strategy, I think.

AND... there is no way to fool the bot with many smaller orders: as soon as your orders have a certain cumulative magnitude, the bot triggers again

#whenwithdrawals  ??

that's the only question. Why do they want to hold our money? As a ransom against a legal action?
86  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: March 21, 2019, 06:36:17 PM
I am asking myself, what kind of LTC are they trading now. Do they exist? Imagine a balance of 400LTC bought now after the "reopening", and applying an haircut also on those.

If I had a sell order of LTC on 14th january, wasn't it made of LTC later hacked?

The most incredible thing is having enabled trading with no prior notice and without enabling withdrawals and deposits

I just noticed the status pages for BTC/LTC/ETH actually use the word "haircut"  Shocked

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/?coin=LTC

Currency 57% secured, 43% haircut processed, Withdrawal and Deposits offline until new hot wallets are ready

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/?coin=BTC

Currency 86% secured, 14% haircut processed, Withdrawal and Deposits offline until new hot wallets are ready

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/CoinInfo/?coin=ETH

Currency 0% secured, 100% haircut processed, Withdrawal and Deposits offline until new hot wallets are ready

As I had a 14% btc haircut, what does this mean? That 100% of ETH are gone? ( In the hypothesis those are not progress percentage but the amount of haircut. ) AND, in that case, how could the whole hack be 10% if the biggest coins are devastated ?

They stated they had a MAJOR LOSS OF FUNDS. What did you morons think would happen, that you would get it all back?Huh Time to wake up!!

Most of the shitcoins are untouched, but LTC is hurt bad and ETH is killed off, BTC 14%. So yeah, probably about 10% all in all.

go back to one month ago and see I knew the haircut had been the "solution" from the beginning, and I was also criticized for that.

So looks like at the end the hack was catastrophic and also cold wallet (if any) coins were stolen.

in this scenario I'd be satisfied to "run away" with 86% of my BTC (I did not have eth or ltc luckily)

that's not the point.

What did I say from the beginning? HAIRCUT.   H A I R C U T. The "funny" thing is, my mgo tokens (affected) have not been cut, the BTC (theorically not affected) were cut.

Curious to see how low, and for how long time volumes will stay low on this exchange.

aaaannnnd can't wait to withdraw my BTC!

Interestingly they did not say that small insignificant "read only" word in the last tweet, that makes the last updates almost totally useless.
97  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: March 01, 2019, 01:27:31 PM
Just a clarification:

I am not saying I want an haircut. The haircut is only better of bankrupcy, in case of cryptopia could not cover losses, in that case moving, for example, a lawsuit to try to squeeze the lacking 10% and resulting to a fund seizure (for all) for years. I am only over thinking or thinking to far future because I've seen all this already happen, not much time ago.

1) cryptopia covers losses <- best option, it HAS to cover if can

2) haircut <- NO if 1) is possible

3) lawsuit to try to obtain 100% <- stupidest option if 2) is possible.

read only.... why read only? What is it useful for?
99  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: why so many addresses and private keys on: February 28, 2019, 12:28:33 AM
Sorry for bumping an old topic,

What's the point in generating more than 1 address? Is it a good thing to use every time different receive address? And if my funds are split among those address, can I send a certain amount (higher than the single address balance) with only a transaction?
100  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: February 27, 2019, 01:04:43 PM
nearly 10% of funds ($ 23M NZ$ ~ $16M US$) implies ~ $ 150M US$ worth of crypto is/was sitting on Cryptopia at the moment.
Assuming:
- The eval of 23 M is correct
- Nothing was recovered. Binace said they recovered something. Police also hinted they recovered something.

It's no use telling people to deposit to new addresses if the sites still in maintenance?
Actually they are saying not to deposit to the old addresses. They are not saying to deposit.

Good tweet, only 10%, that spread amongst all users is just another day in crypto land.
Why socialize the losses? Are you asking to be deposed of your holdings, even if nothing of yours was stolen and even if it was not your responsibility to protect the funds? Is there no responsibility for the operator?

so, if that will be the proposal, are you going to lawsuit cryptopia to gain another 10% and at the end getting anything for years?
For me 90% is good, it they will open SOON.
