I for one was not logged in one minute before the site closed in January, but I had open orders. So showing a pre-hack situation is good, so that I can take a snapshot of the account and all the trades.

Agreed, it is good to be able to see what we "had", but it should be clearly stated on the website that it's not necessarily the amount that Cryptopia can give you.

Why show pre hack balance unless planning on all accounts sharing in loss of stolen coins also doesn't make sense that eth would be missing from Balances since there pre hack balances

What is showing is exchange ledger balances. It does not reflect what is held in the exchange wallet.

Centralized exchanges don't hold individual user funds for each user. When you deposit to your individual address the amount is "swept" and moved to an exchange hot wallet or cold wallet. The individual balance is shown is what their database shows you have deposited according to their records. Any trades occur on their database (not on the blockchain)

It does not show what they have in their exchange wallet.

We are surrounded by legends on this forum. Phenomenal successes and catastrophic failures. Then there are the scams. This forum is a digital museum.

Just turn off all the 6 items one by one (you can't reuse an already used code), then activate the first one and check the mark to apply to all unsecured features.

I successfully changed my password. For 2FA you have to disable it on every feature and need some patience: you must acknowledge each change with a new 2FA-Code from the existing device  so only one change every minute  Wink
After all are clear you can set up a new 2FA, and don't forget to check the box to use it on all features.

aaaand btw. I appreciate seeing my balances pre-hack because I was not online a few days before.

Cryptopia has not yet opened trading, withdrawals, and deposits. Here is a recent tweet from them:

"The read only site will be live today, it will show balances as at 14th Jan 2019. Please use this site to reset passwords and 2FA credentials. We are finalising a rebate process for affected users, more details to follow. Thank you for your support during the last few weeks."

The good thing is that they are moving forward and balances remain intact!

The good thing is that they are moving forward and balances remain intact!

Today reopening is a big move already now i don't see any reason on what stopping them to open the withdrawals of the first 24% secured wallet that they already said's "secure"

Im waiting for another update tomorrow to see what will be their next move for those users that is not affected by the hack

Yes everything from Trading, Deposit and Withdrawal are disabled in the current website state.

This read-only mode should not last more than this week, they should allow withdrawals of all unaffected coins as soon as possible.

Funny that I logged in and saw my stupid faucet coins balances were still there, even though I kept getting emails saying they would be removed. Couldn't do anything about them. Too small to liquidate on BTC market, and not worth the bother to install my own wallet to download blockchain and sync and all those problems.

April. Check back again April.

Since its still 24% they wont really re-open and they will surely do it when they completely done all in all.At least they are giving some updates as best as they can and complaints of
lost balances will arise after they completely resumed their service.

Twitter is the only medium we can use of on reading up next updates or progress.On my part once i do get my balance i wont turn back to use this exchange ever again.

Unfortunately, no one can help you here. You should contact their support.

I remember that cryptopia encouraged all users to use Google Authenticator/Authy or Cryptopia Authenticator as they say it's the highest level of security. They provided a security warning to those who are using low level of security which includes 2FA email and 2FA pincode. I have been using email auth before and that notification popped up as well in my cryptopia account, that's when I decided to change my 2FA settings.

Aside from that, there have been several issues of not receiving email codes too. Maybe another reason for them to discourage users of using it.

I dont like what is happening this time, the term in the next few days could translate into 10 or 20 more days.

Why don't they just cancel all trading order using their admin panel interface or they just really that incompetent in handling this situation.

We need WITHDRAWAL OPTIONS!!
