81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is King on: November 14, 2023, 03:19:12 AM
Bitcoin is king because :

1) It was the first crypto coin. People associate crypto with Bitcoin.

2) It has a solid foundation. Developers made this coin with long term vision.

3) It is a good option for current investors alao because it proved its worth in last 13 years.
82  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Challenging Privacy in Bitcoin! on: November 14, 2023, 03:17:02 AM
Greetings to all those passionate about the crypto world!

We all know that blockchain technology provides unmatched transparency by recording all transactions, but how can we maintain an appropriate level of privacy in this decentralized network?
Is it possible to guarantee anonymity in Bitcoin? There are several techniques, protocols and tools that seek to address this challenge, and I would love to explore them with you.

A tool that I have seen a lot and as a popular option is the use of Mixers (also known as tumblers) that allow transactions to be mixed and masked, making it difficult to track the origin and destination of funds. Another method that has recently gained attention is CoinJoin, where multiple transactions are grouped together and make it more difficult to track the final address of each one.

But here comes the most intriguing question: is the level of privacy provided by these tools enough to protect our identities and activities in the digital world? Or should we be focusing on developing new solutions and improvements to further safeguard our privacy in the Bitcoin ecosystem?

There are many tools to maintain privacy like mixers. Also, there are special privacy coins as well.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Personal data of 300K users, provided at BTC ATMs, allegedly in hacker's hands on: November 13, 2023, 10:07:40 AM
The context is that of users of Coin Cloud Bitcoin ATM users in USA and Brazil. Though the company file for bankruptcy in February 2023, and I believe that all their Bitcoin ATM network is now non-operational, somewhere along the line hackers claim to have managed to make away with a bunch of very concerning personal data for something like 300.000 customers, alongside some 70.000 selfies provided at the ATMs themselves. The hackers are sharing their claims in private channels.

Specifically, the stolen information seems to be:
Quote
<…>  Social Security Number, Date of Birth, First Name, Last Name, e-mail address, Telephone Number, Current Occupation, Physical Address, and more. <…>

Once more, KYC sensible data has been (potentially) filtered at a very dangerous level, including information of user’s home addresses and complete names. Though not mentioned, one wonders if linked addresses and/or TXs may also form part of the breach, which would only worsen the situation by providing some tenancy information on top of the above (this is my speculation, not information cited in the below referenced sources).

See:
https://cointelegraph.com/news/coin-cloud-data-hack-united-states-brazil
https://twitter.com/vxunderground/status/1723749038057574425

This data can be misused in many ways. Strong measures must be taken to stop such leaks in future.
84  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin Investment and Why Are Bitcoin Withdrawal Fees So High? on: November 13, 2023, 10:06:25 AM
First of all, many thanks to the founder of this forum. I got ideas about bitcoin and bitcointalk forum by watching YouTube videos, I registered account in this forum to know bitcoin better and by studying daily regularly I was able to get better idea about bitcoin today. I had a hard time with one thing at first, because I live in a country where Bitcoin is still illegal, I didn't get any idea about Bitcoin from anyone. I am currently 30 years old, if someone had given me an idea about Bitcoin before 2010 or 2020, I would have made a lot of money investing in Bitcoin today. Luckily I came to know about Bitcoin 2 months ago by watching a youtube video. If I hadn't seen this YouTube video, I still wouldn't have got the idea about bitcoin. When I got the idea about bitcoin, the price of bitcoin was 25k to 26k. If I had invested in Bitcoin when it was 26k, I would have made a lot of profit today. I did not invest at that time as I did not have a good understanding of Bitcoin. Inflation in our country is increasing day by day. I didn't put all the savings I had in the bank, I bought land a few days ago for $10000. I still have $5000 in savings I bought bitcoin yesterday for $1000. I have another $4000, I will buy $100 worth of bitcoin every 15 days.

The only reason I am posting this today is that I bought bitcoins from kucoin exchanger. I learned bitcoins are not secure in bitcoin exchangers. I chose a hardware wallet. Now my problem is that when I try to transfer bitcoins to hardware wallet, I see a fee of 0.0005 bitcoins, what is the reason for the high fee? A few days ago, it seems that it was 1-2 dollars. Fee will not be reduced? If the fee is not reduced then I will withdraw with this fee.

Some exchanges have fixed fee which might be high. In future, choose exchanges with less fees. You can find list of such exchanges online.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bull run best time to promote Bitcoin related affiliate programs? on: November 13, 2023, 10:05:01 AM
Yes this is pretty common sense. Usually in a bear market there is no new retail adoption so harder to get affiliates referrals. When there is a big boom and you pay Google for their adwords or advertise on twitter or elsewhere you will have success in your referrals.

I think most platforms these days unbanned bitcoin advertisements, maybe Instagram is the only one that prohibits advertising bitcoin content. So if you can find a highly effective way of generating tons of views and turn those into clicks which turn into actual members that join then you should do pretty well.

How about Twitter now that it has become X? Is the new platform better for this?
86  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are some good blogging related services that I can buy with Bitcoin? on: November 13, 2023, 10:03:59 AM
I  have some funds in crypto that I want to spend. I am also a hobby blogger. I recently purchased my Hosting hosting with Bitcoin. What are some other good blogging related services that I can buy with Bitcoin?

Your option is limited. Blogging-related services actually do not require a lot of various things, so you are left out with hosting-related matters. Other than hosting, there are domain providers and email providers who accept Bitcoin. I think that is pretty much the only service you are able to use for a blog. Or if I am wrong, well, what kind of service that you need as a hobbyist blogger? Name it, other people may offer the alternative that accepts Bitcoin.

If you'd like to spend it without necessarily having to buy services, you can donate/tip to another blogger who shows their bitcoin address.

These days the scenario is changed. Blogging is not about buying domain and hosting only. There are many other different type of expenses required. Like you need 5-10 tools to monitor SEO for site.

88  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Is bull run best time to promote Bitcoin related affiliate programs? on: November 12, 2023, 03:59:39 AM
I feel that when Bitcoin is reaching peak prices, all news sites cover the news. As a result, lot of new users come to Bitcoin. As a result, this can be a good time to invest in promotion of crypto affiliate programs. The chances for conversions will be higher as Bitcoin popularity will already be in mind of people.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Market warms up, what altcoins can help me rich? on: November 09, 2023, 09:45:28 AM
I read some Twitter users with big followers that cryptocurrency market is going to be bullish.

Bitcoin halving will come in 2024.

Bitcoin will have a big bull run in 2024.

What altcoins can help me rich in 2024 and 2025?

Any idea?

If you are patient enough to hold till 2025, even Bitcoin purchase now can double or triple your money. Other altcoins can give higher returns but there are also chances of losses there. In case of Bitcoin chance of loss if you hold for 2 years from here are very less.
90  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tricky situation for Altcoin investment on: November 09, 2023, 09:43:38 AM
I would just like to make everyone cautious about the current situation as it's a period which can make or break you based on your investment strategy. It's all about Altcoin investment and most of the newbie try their luck by investing into Altcoin whenever there are rumours of bull Run and the reason they prefer Altcoin over bitcoin is that they think Bitcoin is already priced higher and it would not get pumped multiple fold any further and they think Altcoin is price priced at single digit or double digit so they can grown thousand folds but that's not the case as it's a common mistake made by newbies as they just look at the market price instead of looking total supply of Bitcoin and Altcoin, they need to consider total supply of Altcoin and calculate it with the price they expect it to reach and think if it's even possible. I would suggest sticking to top Altcoin and Bitcoin.

Please share your opinions on common mistake newbie makes when market trends upward.

You should have mentioned about top altcoins according to you and the reason why you support them. For me, Ethereum will benefit a  lot from next bull run. This is because it is being used in a number of projects and has got real time application. There is no hype of fluff associated with this coin. It is based on real case usage.
91  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Doge coin everly hit $1? on: November 09, 2023, 09:40:31 AM
Why do altcoin don't have the characteristics of bitcoin? After the creation of bitcoin thousands of coin surface the crypto market, some altcoin became a huge success but some still reamain dumant and has no hope of even attaining the high of $1

Dogecoin is one of a long time COIN that has been in existence for over 10years now. since December 2013 dogecoin hit 0.0000869 on may 6 2015 and today is $0.076 now am wondering if it could reach $1price after 10years compeard to Bitcoin.

The supply of each coin is different and thus the unit price per coin is also different. You cannot compare Bitcoin and doge coin in this regard. If you have to compare price of two coins, compare those which have identical supply. Regarding whether doge coin can reach $1 or not, it depends on a number of factors like news associated with coin. I see less possibility of this happening now as Elon Musk all hype is gone now.
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the Choice of Investors on: November 09, 2023, 01:46:41 AM
Bitcoin is the Choice of Investors

Gold has had hedging functions for many years, while Bitcoin is just getting started, implying that Bitcoin will earn additional value over the next ten years.
Taking a cue from Ark Invest CEO Cathie Wood, I can state unequivocally that investors are currently paying more Keen interest on Bitcoin than ever before.

ARK Invest is an American investment management firm that provides solutions to investors seeking profitable development in the public market. Notably, the US Securities and Exchange Commission has received an application from this company seeking to establish a Bitcoin ETF for trading on the spot market.

Cathie Wood, who appeared on the show 'Merryn Talks Money' to discuss current financial events, chose Bitcoin over gold for a decade. Her stance was that young people who represent the futures market prefers holding Bitcoin, and Bitcoin has recently outperformed Gold in terms of hedging.
Some significant points that I believe investors are taking note of is that:

  • During the March 2023 regional bank crisis, the value of Bitcoin increased from $18,900 to $30,000. This was a strong indication that Bitcoin is more than just a hedge against inflation; it is also a "Safe Haven."
  • "Transparent and Decentralized" is how Bitcoin describes itself and this has remain true over time.

During Russia Ukraine war, lot of people from Russia moved funds from banks into crypto. It shows that the trust of people on crypto is increasing day by day. Current investors should hold and continue investing more. Because increased demand will also push the prices up.
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: investing plan on: November 09, 2023, 01:44:14 AM
Hello Community,

I have 1500$ and i want to invest it crypto as holdings. What do us suggest invest it all on BTC or alts? Thanks

It depends on your risk taking ability. If you want very high returns and can take good risks, you should go with alt coins. On the other hand, if you want less risk. and are ok with moderate returns, Bitcoin will be better choice for you.
94  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: November 08, 2023, 02:52:16 PM
Scam, death both have in altcoins market so why you want investing altcoins?
My opinion buy dip and sold faster on some profits like to be best revenge for all altcoins investors!
What's your skills and opinion?

The price of Bitcoin has already grown by large amount. Now alt coins have more scope for growth. That is why it makes sense to invest more in alt coins. But one should have the skills to find good alt coins. Some good projects can still beat the potential returns with Bitcoin in long term future.
95  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your Favorite Altcoin and Why? on: November 08, 2023, 02:50:19 PM
ETH is my favorite. This is the only alt coin which has the potential to give some competition to Bitcoin. It is evident from the fact that so many projects are based on this coin.
96  Economy / Economics / Re: "I saw my salary on a bottle of perfume today" on: November 08, 2023, 02:48:56 PM
Price of most of the cosmetics are heavily inflated. They know these are luxury items and this they are charging upto 10 times the manufacturing cost. One should look for newer brands which have correct pricing to avoid money waste.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ferrari introduced BTC payment option for their cars on: November 08, 2023, 01:19:04 PM
It will have big impact on market and crypto prices. This is because the people buying Ferrari are already very rich people. If. They adopt crypto in some way, it can see huge demand as volume per user will be high. One thing that can fuel the growth even further is some type. Of incentive being given to people paying with crypto.
98  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting losses, Take a break and just focus on Bitcoin. on: November 08, 2023, 01:16:21 PM
Recently I was contacted by a trader friend, who told me that his trading position in futures was hit by Stop Loss. He played in altcoins, because Bitcoin has recently increased in value. My friend dared to take a long position in several altcoins with capital of $150, and after hitting a stop loss the remaining funds were $12.
I told him to stop and close the entire position he had just made. I want my friend to stop for a moment to calm his mind and emotions so as not to add to the existing losses.

And I suggest that if it starts again, it's best to just play Bitcoin and don't play with too many different types or play too many altcoins. I know that sometimes altcoins are able to provide greater profits than bitcoin when bitcoin experiences a 10 percent increase, but altcoins are also able to provide greater losses.

If you are having $150 to invest, first work on increasing the capital. You should do freelance work or find higher salary jobs to increase your revenue. Then, work with larger capital and then time given in all this investment will be worth it.
99  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it the right time to invest in Bitcoin? on: November 08, 2023, 01:14:32 PM
If you are a short term investor, you can double your money in next one year. But if you are a long term investor, current prices or coming bull run should not matter to you. Like if you invest for 10 years, you will make at least 10 times on current prices. And you will also have peace of mind that you do not need to monitor prices all the day looking at screen.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wedding expenses and party celebrations with Bitcoin money. on: November 08, 2023, 02:52:04 AM
People like you are real supporters of Bitcoin. Just imagine so many other people who are guests in wedding being exposed to Bitcoin. This can have exponential promotion for Bitcoin at almost no expense. I will also do this in future part celebrations.
