Every member will come up with his or own view but this is a question I think only the owner can rightly answer. It is his vision that he wants to carry forward with the forum.

Some of the threads in off topic are on point and genuine also. So punishing all the members because of fault of some spammers is not right in my opinion. Better option in my opinion is to take stronger action against the spammers like banning them and taking other strong actions.

So many shitcoins being created does not mean that even the genuine projects like bitcoin is also at fault. Coins like BTC and ETH will grow strong and reach new heights this year in my opinion. You just need to be patient with the growth. The huge increase in prices to $20000 levels resulted in such a drastic decrease in prices that it is taking so much time to recover back now.

I agree to this. If bitcoin is used as an investment, there will mainly be buyers and people will not want to sell their bitcoins easily. With such a situation, the price condition will become very uneven affecting crypto community.

Yes this is one of the most common reason why people refuse to accept bitcoin. Many people are already burned with scams or online frauds in the past. Thy judge bitcoins based on that experience only. It means that they think that in case of bitcoins also, there money will get looted. In addition to this there are other reasons also why people refuse like lack of technical knowledge.

I expect the prices to again reach the levels of $20k per bitcoin this year. This will bring a lot of relief to the investors who had invested in bitcoins at times when prices were at their peak. I also hold some bitcoins currently purchased at high prices and I expect prices to go back to normal in coming days.

OP, you can get merits here by making quality posts. You can also go through the merits stats page and see the frequntly merited posts. Then you will get an idea of what tyoe of posts are being liked and merited.

It is not going to end so soon and the prices will recover in future. I am also holding good amount of ETH and have not given up because I know that the situation will change for sure. We need to spread the awareness among the other investors as well so as to stop prices from going down further.

Though there is no rule for the shit coins but they will die on their own in my opinion. This will happen when people do not show enough interest in these coins because of their poor performance and returns. Eventually the people behind these projects will abandon their projects.

If this year also the crypto shows same behaviours as in 2018

1) It would be end of crypto in my opinion. New investors will not join and thus crypto adoption will be affected badly because of this.

2) Old investors will also sell most of their holdings in loss because it is hard to be patient for that long.

ETH has already captured the second spot now as per coinmarketcap. The battle between XRP and ETH is very interesting though. It is good for the investors though in my opinion as such incidents are covered by crypto news blogs thus pushing the prices up.

Both BTC and ETH are good coins and you can invest in both of these. There is an additional benefit of investing in both the coins at the same time. It is expected that if bitcoin diminishes, ETH  will be the coin benefited by this the most. In such a scenario, you can easily make a fortune.

Now that these shitcoins have dropped in terms of prices by huge margin, you will be in loss. If you are also holding good coins like BTC or ETH, than you can expect that the gains from these coins in future will match the gains.

Also, I hope you learn a valuable lesson from all this and do not waste money on shit coins in future. Only invest in top 10 coins or so based on market cap or previous returns.

Whales are buying with discount and thus book good profits when the prices again hit the peak prices of past. I am also holding good amount of ETH and expect that the prices will be at least 5 times the current value this year itself. That is when I will be cashing out most of it.

I am not going to do either. I will not be selling because that would mean loss to the tune of 1/4th of the original value. I cannot afford to loose that much and I know that prices will eventually rise in future.

That being said, I am not investing in current situation because the market is very unstable currently.

This is the story of a lot of users on bitcointalk in my opinion. Many users here are active in order to make decent crypto through different campaigns.  The rewards given in some campaigns might be more than the average pay in some of the countries users are from.

I have not used bitcoin ATMs as there are none in my country. In fact, when an exchange tried to start bitcoin ATM in my country, the founders where jailed.

However, there are certain problems associated with bitcoin ATMs in my opinion. The primary being the wait time which means that for withdrawing cash with bitcoin, you will have to wait for some time till the transaction gets confirmed.

Here are some reasons why people are condemning bitcoins :

1) They do not have much information about how crypto works or the basics of crypto.

2) They are also not aware of the returns crypto has given in past few years.

3) They are judging crypto by comparing it other online schemes that did fraud with the users.

I also see some of the videos of cryptodaily but most of the time I am on local channels in my country language. This is because I want to remain updated of the developments related to legal status of crypto in my country which is still in mess currently.
